This is off topic but has anyone heard of Google Maps? It is pretty frightening. If you go to www.googlemaps.com and type in your home address a perfect picture of your home, your car everything is there for the world to see.
Talk about "big brother watching you."
Isn't this some kind of invasion of privacy when Google is able to post this pictures without your permission? |

I guess I am waaaaaaaay behind times.
My understanding is people in trucks with cameras drive around neighborhoods and take pictures to upload to Google.
Doesn't the average person have some recourse to opt out of this travesty? |

Check it. I just got the Iphone it gives you google maps on the phone! Street maps, area view, or a combination. Press a button and it will show you where you are. Type and address and you'll get directions!
An amazing piece of technology.
Download Google earth then you will really trip!
Robynmarie, forget about it. Pandora's box is open. Ammagedon is about the only thing that will change this...
Besides the gov't had this technology for years. I worked on the GPS Satellite program in 1984 and the projct was well under way before I got involved.
I got a running a red light ticket earlier in the year. In the mail came a ticket with a nice crisp photo of my car -- now supposed I was somewhere I was not supposed to be?
At the end of the day if you ain't up to some nefarious activity you should have nothing to worry about from big brother. (Of course we know that is a big should in our community). |
