Guiliani made fun of Obama tonight, and basically belittled him as being nothing more than a dreamy-eyed young man. This will certainly galvanize the legions of Obama's supporters to the point where they will clearly see the choice before them: President 43 to President 44, or President 43 to The Next Generation. As they say, the Republican Party is the party of out of touch old white people, as in - the same ol' people with the same ol' ideas producing the same ol' results. |

You over-estimate the intelligence and tolerance of the averge white voter. Republicans like Guiliani provide these dim wits with an excuse to show their true colors! |

Cynique, do you think Obama will win? I could not have hoped for a weaker Republican ticket. Nel's I too doubt Guilani's comments will sway any voters away from Obama. I believe at this point everyone has made up their minds. Short of one of the candidates being exposed as a pedophile, nothing between now and November will sway anyone's decision. I think Obama will win. I thought this from the moment he announced. If he does not win or come very, very close (closer than Gore v Bush). I think I may move to Ghana. |

Troy -- Great reply. What I noticed even before the MSM pundits published it was the strong condescending tone that the Republicans targeted toward Obama. Apparently, they didn't understand that their objective was to challenge Obama based on the merits of his argument for change. Instead, they summoned a bunch of old white people who can't even tan in an Arabian Sun, to give a series of absolutely critical speeches that will give voters an idea of where they actually stand. Their treatment of Obama tonight was truly deplorable, and I'm fairly confident that it will backfire bigtime. All that the Obama campaign needs to do is use those clips of Fred Thompson, Rudy Guiliani, Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin mocking, marginalizing, demeaning and disrespecting Obama in an almost derogatory "fried chicken & watermelon" fashion. Their behavior is likely to turn off millions of open-minded people and cause them to realize that the GOP is truly the party of yesteryear, social opression, and what really may be the last attempt by white folks to hold on to a country that is not even theirs. |

His VP's "speech" was a joke...literally. I refuse to call it a "speech" even. It was a (C-list) comedy skit, IMHO. It was the type of performance that you would normally expect from a Rosanne Barr. So I think the debate should be whether John McCain is retarded. If this VP pick is what he risked his entire campaign on, I think his state of mind is absolutely a very serious legitimate issue for a national discussion. |

Their.......by white folks to hold on to a country that is not even theirs. Your observation is 100% correct (I’m currently watching that pathetic fhuck Giuliani rant as I write this post). The Republican party is the unflinching party of class, race and big business. I've always said this. Oh yeah, I gotta throw in denial. It's amazing the level of visceral hatred these people have for this man. With the reigning junk yard attack dog Sean Hannity along with smooth spin masters like Dick Morris hammering away at Obama, none of your observations surprise me. As I stated before, I was stunned to see the level of loathing and hatred among the GOP's bottom feeders, political maids, valets and house boys -the black Republicans of Century 21. They vilified Obama with the same fever as someone would condemn a three time convicted child rapist. I never understood what drives these delusional black hired field hands, gleefully apologizing and defending white conservatives who openly show their contempt for blacks and anyone else who does not share their jaded paranoiac narrow mindedness. Faye Anderson became very disgusted and fed up with the antics of the Republican party when she was rebuffed for requesting funding to actively recruit blacks for the party. She left. And I heard J.C. Watts on the radio two weeks ago expressing his disappointment of the racial intolerance within the Republican party. Watts noted there were zero blacks at the GOP corporate room strategy table and stated he had heard through a confidential source, that the Republican party had no desire to change their white only image. And when queried as to why, the response was; “…. the Republican party didn’t have the time nor resources to dedicate to recruiting or attempting to solicit blacks for the party.” This story came from a onetime dog and pony show black mascot for the Republicans. E’nuff said…… |

You folks are viewing the Republican convention through the starry eyes of Obama-supporting Democrats, and you've deluded yourselves into believing this contest is about integrity. The Republicans are after the undecided blue collar crowd and if you think their below-the-belt punches are not scoring points, you need to consider the mentality of these Joe six-pack guys and their shrewish wives. Obama's people better find somebody to sic on this shrill castigating bytch running for vice president in order to subdue her rabid rants. All the pundits are giving her speech a thumbs up. Me, I think trouble lies ahead for the hopes of Obama, and the spineless Democrats need to man up even it this means sending Hillary Clinton out to counter-attack. I don't think The Republicans have put together a weak ticket at all because when the deal goes down it's not about facts, it's about perception. John McCain may have scored a coup d'tat. I hope I am wrong. |

I think you've hit on something, Cynique. "That" Republican crowd loves racist undertones and the rants of their next President "Palin". Yeah, don't be fooled into thinking white folks are voting on the issues and integrity, it has never been about that for them. Racism and power is seldom about fairness or rational thinking. In some ways, Palin has shifted the focus away from McCain, the fence straddlers (if there every really were any) can now move on over. Obama would be taking a risk by attacking Palin, (the mean ol'blackman thang). But as someone said, Hillary can bust her up. Hillary holds a huge...HUGE card. She can point to the flakes on this women and tell her supporters to hold tight and not be swayed. If there was a swing vote, Hillary is king. Say it again Cyn-Cyn....it's not about facts! |

Who in the right mind would NOW vote for McCain since he's annouced his VP? The most pressing job a VP could be handed is PRESIDENT! Who in their right mind would want this women running their country. Really, take away all her obvious flaws and consider what she is bringing to the table or lack of. "Facts", "Right" and readiness would make most run for the hills but again.....we're talking about white folks...I know you here me! I am with Troy....come on feet don't fail me now *lol*. |

I've been here a little while ...yes sir I've lived a little, Chris ....tell me what I am missing? (After all your time and experience, you still think that the people who would even waste time listening to Rudolph Giuliani--prima facia evidence of brain damaged mutation--would worry about facts. Or that those who weren't listening even will care what he says. They got that colored fella up there thinks he's gonna be Presydent--even half the Democrats were revolted by the very idea that he might be their candidate. |
