Wednesday, July 30, 2008 In his new song “Politics: Obama Is Here,” rapper and staunch Barack Obama supporter Ludacris trashes presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain and former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton. “Hillary hated on you, so that b—- is irrelevant. … McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed. Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped,” Ludacris sings. The Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, also takes aim at the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was recently caught on video slamming Obama. “Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what? If you said it then you meant it how you want it have a gut,” Ludacris sings, refering to Jackson’s off-the-cuff criticism of Obama’s speeches on morality at black churches. In another line, he disses Bush. “Ball up all of his speeches and I throw ‘em like candy wrap, cause what you talking I hear nothing even relevant and you the worst of all 43 presidents,” the lyrics read. In his song Ludacris encourages people to go to the polls and make Obama the first black president of the United States: “So get off your ass, black people, it’s time to get out and vote. Paint the White House black and I’m sure that’s got ‘em terrified.” Obama’s spokesman Bill Burton told Politico the presumptive Democratic nominee condemned the song. “As Barack Obama has said many, may times in the past, rap lyrics too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to,” Burton told Politico. “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.” Click here to read more on this story from Politico. Personally I wouldn't want it known that Ludicrus was supporting me. 50 Cent, P Diddy, Jay Z, Ja Rule maybe. I would be honored to have Chuck D or KRS 1. David Banner and Nelly or Biz Markie but just cuz they put out some of my JAMS!. What shows that the Negro is ignorant is that he is dissing Hillary Clinton while his man is trying to patch things up with her. |

"Personally I wouldn't want it known that Ludicrus was supporting me." Ya got that right! I wouldn't want to associated with this pathetic thuggish street purveyor of contemporary Negro minsterley (gangsta/hood rat rap). He has no room to criticize anyone for anything! How in the hell can someone who makes a living degrading black people (and himself) find the nerve to serve up criticism of McCain? It's like a serial killer morally castigating a three time convicted child rapist. WTF....???!!! |

Ludacris is just another enterprising black male taking on the role of thug rapper to make money. Seeing him in interviews he comes across as a fairly articulate fugitive from the mainstream who, in this case, seems to be using rap to represent another form of satire. Unfortunately. |

I don't know, I think you all are a little hard on the man, Luda. I've also seen him in interviews, he does well. I have to give him the benefit of doubt. Maybe it's his profession and not who he is. He's a decent actor as well. I know two wrongs don't make a right but there are many profession that one could pick apart. We could even start with politicians, blood suckin' lawyers and the motion picture industry. Come on, give the man a break, it's his job, not who he is. Unless someone can tell me something about the core of the man I think it stinks of hate. What's next, are you going to put Will Smith under the microscope for The Fresh Prince? What really going on???? Sounds like a couple of white guys talking about "them Niggas". |
