Hello-Hello-Hello
Hey, this has been an interesting week, The board was jumpin'.
Tell you what, I'd like to draw the week to a close with a little wrap-up, Carey style. But look, I know there are some Thumper Polices running around up in here so if you don't wish to have your name mentioned, hit me. Really, I am going to post my address and if you don't wished to be joked or can't get with the "Stream of Conscious" thang....holla.
What do you think?
I have some beans, rice and hamhocks waiting for me, so it will be a while. Oh, you know I got some cornbread...hot sauce too!

I'm still mad at you for talking about fish and hot sauce earlier this week!
That aside...how kind of you to offer an "out" to the thin-skinned among us. However, methinks that those who are the most thin-skinned are too drunk on machismo ask you to give them a pass. In fact, the excess testosterone flying around these days makes for quite the BITTER brew, wouldn't you say? Our resident PhD has shared a theory about all that, and as usual, I think she's on the money.
But don't mind me...wrap away!
(Oh, and I made some macaroni and cheese today that would, as the folks say, make your tongue slap your tonsils.) |

I cooked some Walleye that was to die for and because of how much it cost (13.99 lb YIKES), I'll be eatin corn flakes the rest of the week..lawd. I also made some cornbread pancakes YUMMY and french fries. OH and stir fried some collards. WHEW you talking about GOOD. If anyone likes stir fried veggies..hit me up

Last summer, we went fishing on Lake Erie and caught a MESS of walleye. For weeks, it was fried fish, fish gumbo, fish and grits...YUMMY indeed. |

SUNDAY IN REVIEW
Ok ladies, break it up. Let me do this thang. I just mean keep it down, Thumper is a cook and he can get on a roll. Yes sir, the boy makes cakes and everything. I should have never opened my mouth about food up in here. Kitty, what you know about cookin'....don't answer...
Li-Li...ahhh, did you say CORNBREAD PANCAKES and FISH and FRIES? Kitty, tell her something  .
What a week this has been. Man, where do I start?
I was taking pictures last week, well, actually it was a video recorder. You know the little hand held types. Anyway I told my daughter that since I am the director of the home movies I don't have to be in them. But to be fair I'll start my Sunday thang with a story about me and another member of Thumper's Corner.
While visiting my daughter in Atlanta I had lunch with Sisgal. We've talked via the board and other means for over 6yrs, so we thought we'd do lunch. Now I am not big on meeting people via the Internet but we both agreed that it would be safe. But I began to have my doubts. See, we agreed to meet at a central location, she chose the Underground. That was cool with me until I called the place in which she wanted to meet. The place was called Mick's and it was closed down. Yeah, had been that way for some time. Now I am thinking "stick up" *LOL*. I called her back and told her of my finding. Before I did that I told my daughter about the place. She said "Dad, that used to be a known gay hangout". The gay thang didn't bother me one bit, I was more concerned about Sisgal....was she really SISGUY? Over the years we've exchanged family photos, I was married and so was she. Anyway, I drove down and was a little late. I didn't know my way around the Underground and didn't want to look like a mark type tourist so I put on this fast walk like I knew where I was going. As I approached our meeting spot I noticed a women smiling at me. Again, I didn't want to be smiling at every person looking my way so I gave her a glance and walked right by her. See, I had just read the board. You know about prostitutes and thangs and I wasn't in the buying mood, so I continued walking. But stupid me, I walked into a dead end. I still was trying to look cool so I turned around like I forgot something. Again that women was looking at me and her smile had turned into a laugh. So hey, I stopped and asked her if she was waiting for someone, it was Sisgal. She said, " I was wondering what you were going to do next"? See, even though we had exchanged pictures over the years, I thought she was... ahhh...taller...ahhh, bigger. She was small and very attractive.
We dined at a little Jamaican spot. She talked my head off *LOL*. I think it's that writers thang. I was wondering if she was as scared as I was. But then I noticed these two big black dudes shadowing us. I thought "STICK-UP". I started to get up and screem RAPE! We talked and laughed for over two hours. She thought I was interested in her conversation, sh*t, I was waiting for those brothas to go to the bathroom so I could break and run.
She was very pleasant. I look forward to doing it again.
Nothing seems to be off-limits in Thumper's Corner. The week was filled with talk of POOM DANG in Brazil, Ho's, Babie's Mommas, Harlem, Black Hate, Thumper's Depression, Query Letters, Bernie Mack, Omar Tyree (poor guy), Freelancing 101 and Pimps, just to name a few of the arguements, I mean conversations that took place during the week.
Of course tempers flared and some got called out of their name. Lets see, there was Prick, Bastard's Stepchild, Pug Nose, Mo**erfker, Sissy azz Negro, Idiot and sqeezer.
Yvette and ABM always have interesting debates. Have y'all noticed that they seldom agree on anything. I wish I was a fly on the wall in each of their homes. Can't you just hear what each is saying off line. They got it on in a few threads. Ouuu weee, I swear I heard Yvette call ABM a bad name. See, ABM don't hold back, he just lets his sh*t fly. Did you notice Yvette, she said, "ahhh, ABM, why you talking to me like that". I thought ABM was going to break out with, "It's none of you goddam business, but if you really need to know I've been down to brazil and caught a case of the claps.
Ntfs know how to get everyone all fired up. All you have to do is mention Jazz, Black Women, or anything ABM is talking about. But did you notice he even kicked ABM out of the car. Oh yeah, usually he can be found on the sidelines of ABM's debate with Pom Poms in his hands. You know it, the one smiling doing flips saying, "we love you ABM" . But on the thread about Babies Mamma's he told ABM that he was on his own *smile*. He knew Chris, Yvette, Cynique, Kitty and ChrisHayden was about ot get nasty. ABM started to worry so looked around for help. In walked MOONSIGN. Oh lawd, A_womon heard her name and stopped crying from that beating she took from Troy, Emanuel, Hen81 and ChrisHayden on the self publishing thread and got ready to open fire. Cynique told A_womon to step back and let her handle this one.
Poor Omar Tyree, Y'all kicked and dragged that poor man all throught the house.
I am still wondering who is Dobooty? You know that guy that broke up in the Bernie Mac thread.
Do we all now know how to self publish? My god, was that a bunch of chest beating. Poor A_women, she was dropping all her busines up in here and them bad guys would listen *smile*.
Chrishayden took a break to visit the grave of Jesse Helms.
What thread started in JUNE and STILL is a hot topic? Must be something about Babies Mammas or Ho's. Oh yeah, Yvette was right in the middle of that. Did you notice that she was always saying she was done but came right back. But close behind Yvette was Kitty. See, Kitty is slick. She was the person that said they were "trying to break up the fight". Oh yeah, I peeped her in the Lavish Lifestyles thread. She'd jump in and throw a couple of Jabs and sharp kicks and run back out.
Nuuon has an interesting way of debating. BTW, what kind of a name is that, huh? Anyway, he shot up in the thread on "Black Hate" with a gusto. Had me cussing and calling name *smile*. But see, he wore me out. The boy throws up about a zillion pages of sh*t and I just get tired of reading that much. It's like chasing a rabbit, I got tired. And man, him and Ntfs together is a load! Them boys love to write.
What is a Num de plume?
Kitty has a scam going on. Did you hear her say she was teaching a class and then say she didn't know what the hell she was going to teach *lol*...Freelancing 101. She should have called it Dancing and Freemoney $10,000.
And that dang Thumper, why did he have to bring that Easy mess up in here. I could have slapped his ass. He wasn't satisfied with his own pain he had to drop that mess on us. I hope he chokes on the lavender water.
Troy even dropped a few good ones. He had to slow down a few of the young bucks(jazz)(Harlem). I think he hates A_womon **stirring the pot** .

Well, that was an interesting weekly roundup up events Carey. Thanks. But I have to add something just for the record. I am not a surrogate or cheer leader for anyone. Since my entry to his board, I have always made side comments as either in agreement or disagreement with different posters. But I do not have poms poms, waiting for lead ins from other writers in order to express my opinions. I happen to agree with a number of things ABM said and I supported it. But we have our differences.
There are numerous people I agree with (or disagree with) and I state so when appropriate. In fact, there was an extremely controversial prolific poster on this board (no longer with us) who I used to support for a long time. But her manner was very erratic and somewhat schizophrenic. You never knew when she would turn on you. And one day, she did. Her first few insults had me reeling and confused. But then I could no longer let her get away. She crossed the line. It was on and it got really -really ugly. She became an obsession and personal project for me.
The woman had compiled a list of forum haters because of her nasty vicious personal attacks and name calling. The veteran readers of the board know exactly what and who I am referring to. Prior to her unwarranted bizarre attacks on me, I had admired and constantly complimented her on large number of her opines. But after a few unprovoked ugly exchanges, I felt no need to hold back.
One more thing. She had racked up a large body count on this board and was rolling with her daily patented nasty personal attacks until one day, she went to blows with a poster who does not post as much these days (but I was glad to see her post just this past week). Well, she bit off more than she could chew and she got the beat down! Actually, I didn't think anyone could handle her until then. But she got her ass thoroughly kicked with the same language she was notoriously famous for! I, along with what I believe to be the consensus of the board, was elated! But that's the way it goes around here. I'm rambling now so I'll stop. Thanks for the weekly synopsis. Please continue to do so. |

Whew! Wow! No more words to this particular stream of consciousness, Carey-Carey LOL.
I, too, feel I need to clear something up: I have no beefs with ABM (or anyone else). In the past we have agreed on quite a few topics. He is a strong supporter of STEM (science/technology/engineering/mathematics) education for Blacks, which also happens to be a big passion of mine as well. We are both parents of girls, and have seen eye to eye on many topics related to that as well. Sometimes my spidey-sense tingles over the internets, tho, and I sense that someone is in need of a well-wish or two, so that's what I did. Sometimes my spidey sense is off-base, however, and that certainly may be the case this time. Anyway...
Now that that's out of the way
Sounds like you had a nice trip to visit family. Hope everyone's summer is safe and relaxing. |

My man Nfts, on the real I know you try to stay on the side of the issue. You just give me so much to work with. Yeah, I read the exchanges you were talking about. She was a piece of work. If I had to do a thang on the insight that others have brought to the board, your name would be somewhere near the top. Although my thang is humor, there's been a wealth of knowledge, talent and information on display on these board. Do your thang, you do it well. I would die for your skills. Now I ain't saying I agree with yo dumb ass but you ain't scared *lol*. Years ago when you were still wet behind the ears I asked Troy and Thump if it was OK, was I crossing any lines. They said for me to get my roll out....so I am rolling baby. I'll tell you what, lets trade. Take off those tight pants and I'll get a dictionary. Let your nutts laugh a little .

NTFS has shared little snippets of his background with us from time to time. I got the impression that he is not some young upstart mouthing off, but a middle-aged ex-military man who is quite worldly and urbane, - someone who is secure his blackness and strong in his opinions. IMO |

Thanks, yeah, everything went well on my little vacation. Texas, Mississippi and Georgia...it was HOT. I was ready to come back home. Doesn't it seem like the seating on planes are a little tighter? I noticed that the seats are no longer bolted to the floor, they are on rails...REALLY.
Believe me, I know you and ABM respect the hell out of each other. ABM has been doing this for some time and since he is a veteran poster, I figured he would also roll with the punches. I also felt that you can handle and appreciate my humor, you've told me so. Sooooo, THANKS AGAIN! |

I did NOT say I didn't know what I was going to teach, Mister! The syllabus is written, but I think it's important to include perspectives other than my own and those within Google-reach. So there!!!! ;-p

Yvettep and I are ALL good. You've just run into a recent spate of threads where she and I disagree or are emphasizing different/opposite facets of a particular issue.
But even when she and I disagree, I ALWAYS enjoy Yvettep's posts and have as high a regard for her as is possible in these environs.
Moreover, I don't require that ANYONE here - Yvettep, Ntfs, you or anyone else - concur with EVERYTHING I post here.

This whole thread had me dying laughing. Carey I can't believe you pulled that all together from just one week.
It reminded me of a family gathering or a get togther of a group of close friends who share funny stoires of past -- Even if those past experiences were not funny at the time.

Well thank you Troy.
I have to give props to Kitty,Yvette,Chris and A_women. Kitty has been an inspiration (relax Kitty, no secrets *lol*). Yvette has this cool approach and has always encouraged my foolishment from day one, just like Chris. A_women has been bugging me about doing the Sunday thang one more time.
I tell you what, that mess takes about 5 hours to put together. Yeah, it may have been one week of reference material but it works me. I am always conscious of trying to do something that would not be seen as a cutdown. You hit it on the head. I view it as a family affair. It's sort of like having a dispute with a family member you love and then later laughing together. And of course the person that drops in and drinks up all the beer AND no one knew who they where.
Humor without audio and visual aids is challenging.
So Thanks Man, I needed that!
I need to ask Li-Li about those stir fried Collards, that's a new one.
What was that Kitty said, "make your tongue slap your tonsils *lol*.
Hey Troy, you mentioned that you had considered opening a "social page". I think I understand your thinking. Maybe you were trying to divide social chatter and serious topics. I think the dynamics of these boards would suffer. I do not have your vision so I don't know your goals, but I do remember when you first splashed on the scene and you've come a long way. Thanks for letting me run around in your house.

Hi guys, awe this is so sweet! I would love to hangout with you guys, Troy and A_womon for dinner, i'm free both days, although i know most of you will be getting in on Thursday, if that's too busy then Friday after the conference would be good. I'll be checking in at the hotel on Thursday...yeah, i don't feel much like driving back and forth from home.

Carey and i had a wonderful time. He is much taller and quite the handsome man...oh but how i laughed so hard at him doing his "hard man pimp", "mean mugging folks"...it was a sight to see for sure. Okay, yeah he talked my ear off, lol! But it was so cool to put a face with a name. I guess the internet can be safe afterall!
