IT'S SUNDAY!!!!
You didn't really think I was gone...of course not.
Where else could I go and sit around a bunch of opinionated black folks and feel right at home.
I know the answer to this question but I'll ask it anyway because it somewhat applies to this board.
Have you ever slammed something on the board and thought, "why did I do that, why did I say THAT!". I think most of us have done it. I did it last night, not here on the board but at a wedding. I never saw a microphone that I didn't like and last night a nephew of mine got married.
All the speakers where doing there thang and my turn came around. I didn't want to be like the others and do the traditional toast thang and since he was my nephew I thought I'd throw in a little family treasure. I was going to say how he overcame adversity and all that good shit.
I forgot that he was a man and maybe didn't want everyone to know everything about his past. You know, he has a position and title, so he has this certain image. well, shortly into my speech I let his family nickname fall out of my mouth...POOKY.
Why oh why did I do that! He looked at me like "YOU SOB". Poor guy....for the next 2 weeks he is going to have to endure the shouts of "hey pooky, are you still licking candy wrappers found underneath the bleachers ....yes, I told it, he was one of the kids that ran around underneath the bleachers at the local ball park and frequently ate rabbit turds, thinking they were Sugar Babies or Milk Dudes.
You should have seen the look on his new bride's face. She looked like, "and I've been kissing THAT mouth *lol*.
To some degree that is why I don't get into some of the deep debates here on "T's C".
Oh no, I can't win. They are not going to toss my black ass around like am Helen Keller.
Vette tried to entice me into one just the other day. I saw her black lips trippin' with "am gonna get some Carey booty today". Oh no....someone just reminder me that ever closed eye ain't sleep. Vette is cool and I know what black women to mess with and she doesn't appear to be the one. She will never get my stupid ass up in one of those five dollar debates. Now Kitty, she might take it easy on me...."MIGHT"...She seems to have a soft gentle side..."SEEMS" *smile*. Cyn-Cyn and I have danced...we politely nod. A-Womon is a fool and she's like my little sister so I'll kick her ass. I don't really know Li-Li...she is black and a women so I'll walk lightly.

Speaking of black women.
Today
I am going to a church picnic. And if y'all know anything about black folk and particularly black-women-church-folk, you know I have my hands full. Well, see, I am fairly...newly..single and some of those church women are looking for a meal. I don't mean chicken legs either....Sister Perkins...."Mackabella"
Every women that comes up to shake my hand ain't quoting the bible!!!
I like the whole church thang. I remember having to walk to church with my brothers and sister. We didn't have a car and dad would walk with us.
Now check this out:
In the early years we lived in the projects and so you know we got laughed at and everything. Oh yeah, many had cars but we didn't and we had on all these hand me down clothes. Dad was proud but he was real also. After church he knew we had a job to do. After church we would rush home and beat up everybody that laughed at us. Mom was appalled. Dad would shake his head in agreement with her while slipping us a dime...yes a dime...big money.
I hate dating, don't you. But what is it with some women or men that think that you would even want to get with them? I mean, ladies I know you've felt the sting. You know, the dude with half a mouth. How about the brother that looks at you and for some strange reason you look back and he thinks you are inviting a hit. The fool just looks so ridiculous it required a second look but here his ass comes. Now y'all know a brother will get stupid if you don't at least let him get his roll out. Anyway, the breath tells you that you don't want to be playin' around with that. But doesn't it make you feel like "WHY ME". do I look like his speed.
Now I ain't letting out any male secrets but for the most part some men will sleep with anything...yeah, you know it. A brother will sleep with a tree if it said, "ooouuu baby". Now hold up...some of you ladies can go down some nasty roads. A man ain't gotta say nothing to some of our...ahhh...lustful ladies. Oh no, a glance and a nod will do.
I don't know, but that dating service thing is really a sign that says "USE ME". Come on y'all, I am sorry, I rather sit at home and make prank phone calls than to put myself out there like that...huh!
I just think you have to be fun to be with. Someone reminded me that we struggle with money and without. We struggle in love and without it.
I am just happy that there are strong beautiful church going black women so that I can always get a meal..."chicken legs".

I see you ain't out there sandbaggin' with those folks.
(Back during the flood of 93, a misguided Negro, seeking to build ties with the local white community, took a bunch of kids from the Annie Malone Children's Home--which houses black youngsters--out to one of these threatened areas in response to their call for volunteers.
The locals treated the children horribly--complained they were lazy, drinking up their water, etc.
This was just one of the receptions Negroes got when they went out in the sticks to help.
They went out there to get AWAY from Negroes and apparently would rather drown than have any of us out there breathing their air and scoping on their women.
This time out, most of us have sought to accomodate them.

Chris, I would have to say that to some degree the "folks" are a little different....little.
See, I think you will agree that they can be somewhat cool if Rudolph and Big Willie an dem ain't livin' right next door. Also we live in a state that is only maybe 2-3% black. You know racism is a learned behavior ( I really believe that) and therefore to some degree many are different. But please don't get me wrong....PLEASE...They learn well! Fear also is an ingrediant. Now as long as joe blow says it's okay, then miss white bread can go along without fear.
Having said all of that, if you have looked at the news over the last week, I doubt you saw many black faces filling sandbags. Now ol'massa will use his workforce. We also have institutions that are lodging our lost black children. And yes, they "let" them go out to get some "fresh" air.
Like Ali said when asked why he didn't want to fight in Vietnam; that river ain't did nothing to me! I don't own a pair of hip boots. O, got some "hip" boots but I ain't trying to walk in no mudding water. |

Dang, I forgot I am not to say anything about your/our personal life but you just had to know that if you tapped me I might have told you that I love you to *lol*.
For some that may be wondering. Crystal and I have been doing this for several years...at least 7yrs. I don't know what hasa gotten into her, maybe it's all that sun. I don't when she turned into this BIG FAT HATER **LOL** |

Yeah, I hear you Cyn-Cyn. Sometimes I just think I may have moved to quickly. Especially after someone takes a swing at me. I don't mind the give and take variety, it's the blindside thing that kind of gets me.
But I am learning, I can distinguish between playful jabs and vicious attacks but I think the best route is to "nignore" (thanks Kitty) the latter.
Yet, some of my stuff that is not provoked by others but comes from my own frozen mind is the "slammed" I am somewhat talking about. |
