Poor ol Tim! Now he'll never get to see the outcome of the presidential election, a contest that seemed to have totally consumed him. I'll miss him and his intensity. |

Sad. One of the few journalists who many people felt they could actually believe. |

Screw him. Now he's dropped dead, making others feel their own mortality, they are all heaping all these laurels on him--same ones angling to take his spot on Meet the Depressed. Most of the people he had on he should have slapped in the face after they made their opening statement and said, "You take me for some kind of fool?" He was a media whore and a softball interviewer only one step above Larry King--of course had he been a real tough questioner of those in power he wouldn't have had a job. I'll say this for him--he went out on top and he didn't suffer. |

Tim was no worst than anyone else in the media and this includes the tainted candidates running for office. |

(Wrong I can name dozens of real journalists who would put it on the line when they came face to face with some of the lying wonders Russert frequently gave a pass to--of course none of them has the ghost of a chance of hosting "Meet the DePressed" but they do have their honor) |

the tainted candidates running for office. (It really hurts you that those slobs the Klintonbillies, didn't win the nomination, doesn't it. Don't worry. They still got three months to find some sleazy scandal to tie Obama up in. |

I'm not especially disappointed about Hillary Clinton losing her bid, chrishayden. You keep trying to portray me as a big Clinton fan because that relieves you from coming up with valid rebuttals to what I say. I am perfectly satisfied with Obama as the Democratic standard bearer, but I am not deluded into thinking the either he or John McClain is above reproaoch. As far as Tim Russert is concerned, it's OK for you to be cynical but no one else dare be. You don't know any more about what goes on behind the scene in the media politics than any other out sider. All you do is judge everybnody by your own simple-minded inclinations. |

I don't know what plays the coaches draw up for L.A. and the Celtics during the play offs but I know who scores what and who won the game. Your move) |

As usual, you make assumptions in order to bolster your arguments. I wasn't enamoured of Tim Russert. He was just so visible and intense that I paid attention to him and respected his prowess. I'm sure that power, like it always does, corrupted him to a degree. |

He was smart, he was "real", and he knew it's not improbable or impossible to be both. He'll be missed. |

I liked Tim Russert. I used to listen to him when he was NPR back in the 90's. Always respected the man and I like the fact that he was not a nefarious spin master or political hack like Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity or probably the worst of them all, Rush Limbaugh. Very fair and impartial guy. Except for the one toxic irrelevant inane post here, I have yet to hear anyone berate this man. He will be missed. |

Except for the one toxic irrelevant inane post here, I have yet to hear anyone berate this man. (If white folks want me to make them feel good, they can pay me. Face it. Him falling dead scares you and you feel like maybe you should say something nice or God will kill you. God is not fooled or mocked by your crocodile tears. Always respected the man and I like the fact that he was not a nefarious spin master or political hack like Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity or probably the worst of them all, Rush Limbaugh. (When he had people of that ilk on there, he let them pass. You're weak. If we lived in Ancient Greece they would have exposed you on a hillside at birth. Let me see who else is mourning him in, say two weeks. I live in the real world. I understand that, just because I saw his fat, pasty face on tv I didn't know him. When his country needed him, in the run up to the Iraq War, when the two elections were stolen, he let it down. Next Sunday some other chump will be on there in his place and you will be sitting, slack jawed, drinking in everything he says too. |

Let me clear something up--I am not a Heartless Prick--although I play one on TV. If someone on this list suffers a tragic loss, I offer condolences and prayers. Or somebody I care about. And they don't have to be just black. There is plenty of white folks have died that I have shed a tear at their passing--not too many recently, but we have had a bad crop. But I didn't know Tim Russert. Whenever I saw his fat, pasty Frosty the Snowman face on TV I wanted to vomit. Buffalo. Big Russ. Give me a break. To see all these hypocrites now pouring out condolences to him when he was nothing but a media hype makes me sick. I am sure I am voicing feelings that others hold--they doing the talking. I just got the mouth. |
