Tonya, Chris is absolutely right about that one. But it is not just Hillary it is the whole political machine. These house negroes in NY, as they have plainly demonstrated, are mostly concerned about themselves. If any good comes to the people, as a result of their actions, it is purely incidental -- perhaps accidental. |

Senator Clinton will serve out her term as Senator from NY then step away from politics to regroup and restrategize and try to figure out if she will run again at age 64. (Nancy Pelosi was 69 I believe when she was elected SOTH.) Despite what she is saying now, I don't think HRC will spend one minute of one day helping Senator Obama get elected. Typical Dems. Talk of "bringing the party together". In what other endeavor does the person that loses help the person who beat them win the main prize? Funny, Republicans never talk like that. They pick someone, and run (and win) with that person. Besides I don't think Senator Obama wants her help, since he has referred repeatedly to HRC as "old Washington politics." The Clintons don't forgive and they don't forget. They are in it now to damage Senator Obama as much as possible. Such is the nature of politics. |

"Despite what she is saying now, I don't think HRC will spend one minute of one day helping Senator Obama get elected." Yes she will. "Typical Dems." Oh? How so? "Talk of "bringing the party together". In what other endeavor does the person that loses help the person who beat them win the main prize?" You evidently don't follow politics. It happens all the time. All the Republicans are getting behind McCain. They don't like him but they are going to support him anyway. Despite what far right radical Ann Culter says about McCain (voting for Hillary vice McCain) she will still vote for him rather than vote for Obama (and she has been a very fierce critic of Hillary). John Richards just came out to support Obama and they were rivals for the Democratic nomination. "Funny, Republicans never talk like that. They pick someone, and run (and win) with that person." What world are you living in? All the Republicans who despised McCain are now (grudgingly) supporting him. There was even scuttle butt talk about him picking Huckabee as a VP consideration. They beat each other down during the process but eventually end of supporting their rivals. It's the party ideology over their bitter personal defeats. Hillary is no different. "Besides I don't think Senator Obama wants her help, since he has referred repeatedly to HRC as "old Washington politics."" Doesn't matter what he wants. He needs her support just as she would need his support. As you all know, there is a sizable number of whites who will vote for Hillary but not Obama (and you know why!). He needs those votes. "The Clintons don't forgive and they don't forget. They are in it now to damage Senator Obama as much as possible." As long as she is running against him. But once it's over and Obama is nominated, they will support him. Who are they going to endorse? McCain? I don't think so. People will be looking at this. If they fail to do so, they would suffer more bad political fallout than Obama. Again, you seem to be vexed by reality and the nature of national level politics. |

Robynmarie is right. She is going to screw Obama around so bad he loses. Then she is going to run again in 2012. |

"vexed"...mmm...ten dollar word... In any event, there is supporting and then there is supporing. This has been an historic election in many ways. Do you think after every negative thing that has been said about HRC (some justified, some not) that she is suddenly going to be a "good girl" and tow the party line? What is the downside for her if she doesn't? People already hate the Clintons... Right on, Chrishayden, we finally agree (at least about the screwing Obama part. LOL) |

Just what would Hillary gain from taking revenge on Obama or starting up a third party? Her name would really become mud if she put herself in a position to be accused of causing an Obama defeat. On the other hand, by cooperating with and stumping for Obama, she could earn a cabinet position or any of the other plum appointments that would be handed out. Why would she wallow around in petty politics when by thinking big she can end up looking like a good sport instead of a poor loser - a heroine. Hillary is expedient, if she is nothing else. |

I agree HRC is a pragmatist, that's why I think a third party run is out of the question. However, according to Obama supporters, HRC is an unrepentent racist, a liar, an incompetent, an old hag, and a destroyer of the Dem party. The Clintons seem to have zero credibility with the Dem party right now. The Dem party has turned against the Clintons in droves. So what do the Clintons get out of supporting Senator Obama? A cabinet post? HRC wants to be Prez, not a secretary or even VP. |

Dunno. Couple recent statements from her seems like she is heading for the on-ramp to the high road... http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/16/clinton-defends-obama-after-appa rent-bush-swipe/ http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/14/clinton/index.html Guess we'll just have to stay tuned. Never a dull moment in this election season. |

The hierarchy of the DNC may find Hillary unacceptable but, as usual, these clueless bobble heads are out of touch with the masses. According to MSNBC, a poll that just came out yesterday reveals that 80 percent of rank and file Democrats think Barak should choose Hillary for VP. |

Yes, the rank and file do want HRC, but people like Ted Kennedy, that paragon of virture and morality, made a strong statement against HRC being VP. With HRC as VP, the question becomes what do we do with Bill? |

Yep. Bill is Hillary's cross to bear. He is definitely excess baggage. He might be what will influence her into accepting a cabinet position or Democratic majority leader. |

Yes, the rank and file do want HRC, but people like Ted Kennedy, that paragon of virture and morality, made a strong statement against HRC being VP. You don't know what Hillary Clinton wants anymore than anybody else does, chrishayden. You think you reside inside of her head. All you're doing is speculating and you could hardly be called objective. I don't place any stock in anything you say. You're nothing but a wind-bag, huffing about what YOU would do if you were Hillary, instead of what makes sense for her to do. Thank goodness she's not as stupid as you are. |

I don't place any stock in anything you say. (If you didn't worship the ground I walk on, I might believe that. I believe we can use common sense. I think we can sift the evidence? I think we can safely that somebody who goes 10 million dollars into debt and fights this hard and long against the advice of anybody with a lick of common sense wants to be President, not VP, not Secretary of State, not Supreme Court Justice. Just like you always feel like you can win our discussions by having the last word.) |

The whole point of Hillary's campaign was to be the first woman Prez. I can't see how she agrees to be VP. I think for some women it may send the wrong message. Like maybe women really are second class citizens. Brings to mind what one of my students said. " Hillary won't win. Men always win." She is just 14. Senator Obama will probably make a safe VP choice, which could be a white male. BTW, here's wishing a speedy recovery to Ted Kennedy. |
