Posted on Wednesday, May 07, 2008 - 11:10 pm:        The anti-Obama crowd just can't get past it's own ignorance and fear that he might actually become the most successful President (or one of the most) in the history of the United States. But then again, if you (can) only read the sports section, then that counterproductive disingenuous position is quite understandable. Big states alone won't win the race in November, but a very broad coalition of voters (and new voters in particular) will. What Hillary's supporters don't (seem to) understand is that if she had just stayed above the fray and hadn't gone negative and nuclear-racial (when she fell behind), she might have roared back and sealed the deal a long time ago because she would have been able to appeal to a much broader constituency. But instead, she recklessly channeled her positive energy into a negative race-based message that was aimed at a particular demographic and shrunk her audience to the likes of (honest but confused) white working-class voters who are sometimes more interested in flipping folks off from the cabs of their pick-up trucks instead of cracking a smile and wishing their fellow citizens a great day.
