The Search for Ethnic Weapons Rev. Wright, the CIA and the AIDS Thing By WILLIAM BLUM "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" T.S. Eliot B arack Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, held a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington on April 28, during which he was asked about his earlier statement that the US government had invented the HIV virus, which causes AIDS, "as a means of genocide against people of color". Wright did not offer any kind of evidence to support his claim. Even more important, the claim makes little sense. Why would the US government want to wipe out people of color? Undoubtedly, many government officials, past and present, have been racists, but the capitalist system at home and its imperialist brother abroad have no overarching ideological or realpolitik need for such a genocide. During the seven decades of the Cold War, the American power elite was much more interested in a genocide of "communists", of whatever color, wherever they might be found. Many weapons which might further this purpose were researched, including, apparently, an HIV-like virus. Consider this: On June 9, 1969, Dr. Donald M. MacArthur, Deputy Director, Research and Engineering, Department of Defense, testified before Congress: Within the next 5 to 10 years, it would probably be possible to make a new infective microorganism which could differ in certain important aspects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory [resistant] to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease. [Hearings before the House Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations, "Department of Defense Appropriations for 1970."] Whether the United States actually developed such a microorganism and what it did with it has not been reported. AIDS was first identified by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1981. It's certainly possible that the disease arose as a result of Defense Department experiments, and then spread as an unintended consequence. If you think that our leaders, as wicked as they are, would not stoop to any kind of biological or chemical warfare against people, consider that in 1984 an anti-Castro Cuban exile, on trial in a New York court, testified that in the latter part of 1980 a ship traveled from Florida to Cuba with "a mission to carry some germs to introduce them in Cuba to be used against the Soviets and against the Cuban economy, to begin what was called chemical war, which later on produced results that were not what we had expected, because we thought that it was going to be used against the Soviet forces, and it was used against our own people, and with that we did not agree." [Testimony of Eduardo Victor Arocena Perez, on trial in Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, transcript of September 10, 1984, pp. 2187-89.] It's not clear from the testimony whether the Cuban man thought that the germs would somehow be able to confine their actions to only Russians. This was but one of many instances where the CIA or Defense Department used biological or chemical weapons against Cuba and other countries, including in the United States against Americans, at times with fatal consequences. I'm glad you posted this article and others. Including your commentaries as you offer..in my mind...perspectives that many times are ignored or not seen. Not that what you say or anyone else, including myself, is correct, agreeable or believable for one reason or another. Seeing/knowing the whole picture...seeing the 'forest' AND the 'trees'...is crucial to our survival and in harmony with Creation. All this political talk..hyperdrool...the focuses on this and that 'party'. Who will save us, help us. Are we that helpless? Ignorant? We are so disjointed. From color, nations to the whole human race. 'They' are sailing and running the same 'boat'... and that becoming a gigantic tanker ship as more come on board. Global economy, 'new world order' and such. Down below, the ship is fueled by modern day slaves to the machine. Above are the servants of those who are supposed to be servants to the people... Chem and bio warfare agents are still being researched and made here and elsewhere. Our food supply is in great jeopardy, Earth is churning, nuclear bomb threats still is alive, population control doesn't only mean limits to numbers of babies we can have... laws that exist in a few countries....and we fuss about petty things. The funding and the grants will be of benefit to the business special interest, Academia and Universities not surrounding communities. The community will be left with what New York residents are being left with, a dangerous bio hazard on a massive scale. Ask yourself, Is the legacy of PIADC what you want for your children and grandchildren? The summary below is part of a petition. It outlines many issues that have not been part of the public debate. It appears here with the permission of the author, Dr. Joseph Melamed, Dr. Melamed recently had this to say about the lab, ” This is not a political, economic, or race issue. It is a public health issue”. Proposed National Bio Agra Defense Facility at Butner, NC * In 2008 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will determine where to relocate the aging Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) currently located on an isolated 840 acre island off the North Fork of Long Island in New York. * One of the five remaining sites under consideration is a federally owned farm in Butner, NC, located three miles from I85 near Lake Michie, the water supply for Durham and in the watershed for Falls Lake, Raleigh’s water supply. * The proposed facility will include a “BSL-4” laboratory, defined by DHS as one which studies “microorganisms that pose a high risk of life-threatening diseases for which there is no known vaccine or therapy.” * DHS states that “Examples of microorganisms that could possibly be studied in a NBAF BSL-4 lab include Nipah, and Hendra viruses, both of which are emerging zoonotic diseases that can spread from their natural reservoir to human beings, and are often fatal.” * Other diseases that could be studied in the proposed BSL-4 facility include: Ebola, Small Pox, various deadly hemorrhagic fever viruses, and weaponized versions of Anthrax. * According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) the NBAF organisms studied at the proposed Butner lab would include “…the world’s most dangerous microbes, several capable of rapid widespread human depopulation.” * A NC consortium promoting the facility along with local officials contend that the facility will boost the local economy and that it will be “leak proof” and completely safe. * Deputy Raleigh City Attorney, Dan McLawhorn, has filed objections to the funding and construction of the proposed germ laboratory in Butner, N.C. citing concerns over flow of wastewater into the watershed serving Raleigh. * To date, Butner city commissioners’ request for an informational meeting with DHS officials has gone unanswered. * The existing PIADC which the proposed facility will replace has a disastrous record of leaks and security breaches: o July 21, 1954 – Plum Island worker contracts Vesicular Stomatitis after exposure to an infected animal. o December 24, 1967 – The New York Times reports “Fatal Virus Found in Wild Ducks on L.I.” A virus never before seen in the Western Hemisphere, which began with ducks on the North and South Forks of Long Island opposite Plum Island, spread across the entire continent by 1975. o 1971 – USDA proclaims that “Plum Island is considered the safest in the world on virus diseases. As proof of this statement there has never been a disease outbreak among the susceptible animals maintained outside the laboratory on the island since it was established.” o 1975 – PIADC begins work feeding viruses to “hard tics,” including the Lone Star tic (now endemic to NY but before 1975 never seen outside of Texas) which is a carrier of Borelia burgdorferi, the Lyme Disease bacteria. First cases of the disease later known as Lyme Disease reported in Connecticut and Eastern Long Island, both directly across form Plum Island. Current epidemiologic data shows that epicenter of all U.S. cases of Lyme disease was centered at Plum Island, N.Y. o September 15, 1978 – News release: “Foot and Mouth Disease has been diagnosed in cattle in a pre-experimental animal holding facility at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center.” A documented outbreak had occurred. o 1979 – Internal investigation of the foot and mouth disease outbreak uncovers massive widespread failures in containment systems at PIADC. Committee report: “Recommend that Lab 101 not be considered as a safe facility in which to do work on exotic disease agents until corrective action is accomplished.” o 1979 – Disregarding the committee recommendation, the US Army undertakes investigation of deadly “Zagazig 501” strain of Rift Valley Fever at PIADC. Sheep held outside of the lab that should have been destroyed as part of the containment policy following the foot and mouth disease outbreak were vaccinated with an experimental Rift Valley Fever vaccine, in violation of the lab’s primary directive prohibiting outdoor experiments. o 1982 – Federal review board begun after foot and mouth outbreak issues annual report: “We believe there is a potentially dangerous situation and that without an immediate massive effort to correct deficiencies, a severe accident could result… [L]ack of preventive maintenance, [and] pressures by management to expedite programs have resulted in compromising safety.” o 1983 – Six Plum Island workers test positive for African Swine fever virus. Workers were not notified of their results. o 1991 – Federal government decides to privatize PIADC. A New Jersey company, Burns & Roe Services Corporation, is the low bidder and is awarded the contract. In order to cut costs, expensive safety and security measures are scaled back. o June 1991 – An underground power cable supplying Lab 257 at PIADC shorts out and is not replaced because there was no money left in the budget. o August 18, 1991 – Category 3 Hurricane Bob hits Plum Island knocking down overhead power lines connecting Lab 257 to its only remaining source of electricity, a generator at another location on the island. Freezers containing virus samples defrost, air seals on lab doors are breached, and animal holding room vents fail. The lab’s ‘fail-safe’ mechanism of ‘air dampers’ to seal off the facility also fail in the open position. Melted virus samples mix with infected animal waste on the floor while swarms of mosquitoes fill the facility. o September 1991 – USDA denies that any system failures occurred during the hurricane. Both workers in Lab 257 at the time of the blackout are fired. Both later develop mysterious undiagnosed diseases. o 1992 – OSHA and EPA cite PIADC with hundreds of safety violations. OSHA returned five years later and found that the violations had not been corrected. At that time 124 new violations were found. o July 13, 1992 – While USDA continues to officially deny that any biological weapons research takes place at PIADC, fourteen Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army, and Pentagon officials visit Plum Island. Internal documents indicate that the visit was “to meet with [Plum Island] staff regarding biological warfare.” o Early 1990s – PIADC annual report to Congress is eliminated. o August 1999 – First four human cases of West Nile virus ever reported in the Western hemisphere are diagnosed on Long Island, NY. Horse farms, all within a five mile radius of one another, on the North Fork of Long Island directly opposite Plum Island, report horses dying following seizures. 25% of the horses in this small area test positive for West Nile virus. Of the 271,000 equines tested in three states at the time of the outbreak only those on the North Fork of Long Island were positive. o 1999 – New York Postquotes USDA spokesperson: “…top security [at Plum Islands] does not mean top-secret.” In spite of this statement, attempts to obtain information on the inventory of viruses in storage at PIADC under the federal freedom of information act were denied on the basis of ‘national security.’ o 1999 – A cold war era document is declassified proving that in the early 1950s twelve vials of weaponized Anthrax (enough to kill over 1 million people) were shipped to PIADC. This revelation directly contradicts prior official statements to the contrary by government agencies. o 1999 – New York Timesreports that PIADC is quietly beginning to upgrade to BSL-4 status. Public outcry prompts US Congressman Mike Forbes to intervene and funding for the project is killed in the 2001 federal budget. o July 2000 – New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) finds “very troubling” hazardous waste violations at PIADC prompting New York State attorney general to sue USDA. o July 2001 – Court approved consent order forces USDA to admit to sewage discharge violations. o September 2001 – Shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks someone begins sending weaponized Anthrax through the US mail, killing five people. Genetic analysis showed that the dry Anthrax spores used in the attack originated from USAMRIID (Fort Detrick, MD). o Even though USDA continued to deny the presence of weaponized Anthrax at PIADC the FBI included the following questions in their polygraph tests of scientists under investigation: “Have you ever been to Plum Island?” “Do you know anyone who works at Plum Island?” “What do they do there?” o August 2002 – PIADC workers go out on strike to protest unsafe working conditions. o December 2002 – National Resources Defense Council names Plum Island “number 2” of 12 worst polluters in N.Y. and N.J. A state senator on the task force comments: “What disturbs me is the consistent flow of misinformation…. I feel that some of the misinformation borders on a cover-up. [I]t shakes the foundation of our very form of government.” o 2002 – Pakistani police arrest Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood, a nuclear physicist with ties to Osama Bin Laden, and Mullah Omar. From his residence they recover material on Plum Island. o June 2003 – President George W. Bush transfers control of PIADC to Homeland Security. Airspace over Plum Island remains unrestricted, and gates to Lab 101 are open and unguarded. o Leaks and security breeches have occurred at BSL-4 labs, not just at PIADC + 1994 – Virologist at Yale infected with Sabia virus (now designated as a BSL-4 agent). 75 other workers exposed. + 2001 – Multiple researchers infected with Plague at Rocky Mountain Lab in Montana. + April 2002 – Anthrax spores leaked at USAMRIID Lab (Fort Detrick, MD). Researcher tests positive for Anthrax. + March 1, 2003 – A package containing West Nile virus explodes at a Federal Express building in Columbus, OH airport exposing workers. + June, 2003 – 113 vials of Anthrax, Brucelosis, Ebola, and other organisms uncovered during excavation of a toxic waste site at Fort Detrick, MD Dr. Tindall of the Triangle Biotechnology Institute, spokesman for the North Carolina consortium promoting the NBAF, had this to say in response to various questions about the proposed Butner facility. * Question  n December 15, 2000 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) supported the construction of a new BSL-4 (Rocky Mountain Laboratory) because “…the RML campus is located in rural western Montana, well removed from major population centers. The location of the laboratory reduces the possibility that an accidental release of a biosafety level-4 organism would lead to a major public health disaster.” In light of this internal government document which recommends siting a BSL-4 lab in an isolated area to protect the public, how do you explain your consortium’s support for siting the proposed NBAF in Butner within a 50 mile radius of nearly 2 million people? * Answer: The proximity of the Butner, NC site to the scientific resources of RTP, the NC State veterinary school, and the various university research centers outweighs the potential downside of locating the facility just outside a major population center, and in immediate proximity to the water supply for Raleigh and Durham. * Question: What diseases would be studied in the NBAF BSL-4 lab if it comes to Butner? * Answer: Only Nipah and Hendra viruses. * Questions: Might DHS decide at some time in the future to study other BSL-4 agents such as Ebola? * Answer: Yes. * Question: The DHS website indicates that Foot and Mouth Disease is among the “diseases that would potentially be studied at the NBAF.” But, Public Law 48-496 passed by the U.S. Congress in April 1948, states that “…no live virus of foot and mouth disease may be introduced for any purpose into any part of the mainland of the United States except coastal islands separated therefrom by waters navigable for deep-water navigation and which shall not be connected with the mainland by any tunnel….” Given existing federal law, how could DHS bring foot and mouth disease to Butner, N.C.? * Answer: They could not unless Congress changed the law. * Question: According to the DHS website “There has never been a public exposure at a BSL-4 lab in the United States.” Is that true? * Answer: Yes. * Question: What about a 1/21/2002 Washington Postreport which uncovered the loss of dangerous microbes including Ebola from Fort Detrick in the 1990s? Or the deadly 2001 U.S Mail attacks with weaponized Anthrax originating from Fort Detrick? * Answer: none. * Question: When attempts were made to obtain information about Plum Island under the freedom of information act they were blocked for reasons of national security, even though USDA claimed that ‘top secret’ work was not taking place there. Now that the U.S. is at war, we are living in a ‘post 9/11’ era and DHS has assumed control of the NBAF from USDA, it seems logical that research at the proposed Butner lab which is replacing PIADC would continue to be “classified” for reasons of national security. Will that be the case? * Answer:No classified research will take place at the NBAF. * Question: According to the scoping materials, the final decision regarding bringing NBAF to Butner is to be made in Washington, D.C., solely by DHS officials. If federal officials decide to bring NBAF to Butner, would people living near this facility have any mechanism to influence what goes on there? * Answer: Yes. There will be a local oversight board. * Question: Can you give me some details about that? * Answer: No. We, the undersigned physicians, believe that the proposed NBAF poses a dire and unjustified health risk not only for the local population in Granville County, but also for the entire triangle region. To date, the public has been poorly informed of the exceptional risk posed by this facility. We believe it is our duty as physicians to educate the public so that they may protect themselves against this infringement of their right to remain safe in their own homes. | ||

Reverend Jeremiah Wright Is Right About Man-Made AIDS By Alan Cantwell, MD On March, 14, 2008, many Americans were infuriated by the airing of highly inflammatory video clips from various sermons by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. TV viewers heard the preacher saying that the U.S. government created AIDS as a genocide program against blacks - and watched him declaring "God damn America!" As a spiritual advisor to Barack Obama, Wright's inflammatory rhetoric threatened to derail Obama's race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Wright, retiring at age 65, had served as pastor of the Trinity United Church in Chicago's Southside, where Obama had been a parishioner for 20 years. Obama quickly distanced himself from Wright's remarks, but refused to denounce him. (Obama did denounce Wright a few weeks ago, didn't he?) Is Reverend Wright a patriotic American? As usual, the media quickly denounced his AIDS accusations as "conspiracy theory." This despite the fact that half of African-Americans polled believe AIDS could have been man-made. Although the media came down hard on Wright, he cannot be simply dismissed as a deluded and unpatriotic American. At age 20 in 1961, he interrupted his college studies to serve in the Marines. According to the Chicago Tribune (April 3, 2008), after completing two years of service in the Marines in 1963, he volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. He did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility at Bethesda Naval Hospital, he was a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation. After leaving the service, Wright finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of Trinity, where he served for 36 years. The Tribune concluded: Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the retiring pastor of Trinity, has been in the news for comments he has made over the last three decades. Since these comments became public we have heard criticisms, condemnations, denouncements and rejections of his comments and him. We've seen on television, in a seemingly endless loop, sound bites of a select few of Rev. Wright's many sermons. Some of his comments are inexcusable and inappropriate and should be condemned, but in calling him "unpatriotic," let us not forget that this is a man who gave up six of the most productive years of his life to serve his country. While words do count, so do actions. Let us not forget that, for whatever Rev. Wright may have said over the last 30 years, he has demonstrated his patriotism. The hepatitis B vaccine origin of AIDS For more than two decades, I have written extensively about AIDS as a man-made disease and as a covert genocide program. In that respect I totally agree with Rev. Wright, and I will attempt to present here some very sketchy history of how HIV/AIDS originated in America, starting in 1978, when government scientists began to experiment on young, primarily white, healthy gay and bisexual men in Manhattan, as part of the experimental hepatitis B vaccine trials, which continued in various cities up to the year 1981 when the AIDS epidemic became "official". (For the full details of man-made AIDS, please refer to my books AIDS & The Doctors of Death, and Queer Blood, and to my many articles on the subject, which can be easily found on Google (type-in: "alan cantwell" + AIDS) The groundwork for the experiment began in 1973 when The Gay Men's Health Project in Manhattan provided blood samples for hepatitis B testing at The New York City Blood Center. The results were astonishing! One out of every two gay blood samples were positive. By contrast, only 5% of the blood samples from straights were positive. Developed at the Merck Institute for Therapeutic Research at West Point, Pennsylvania, the first crude experimental vaccine was tested in chimpanzees, the only animal susceptible to the human hepatitis B virus. Later, the vaccine was tried on a small group of retarded children. When the experimental vaccine was ready to be more widely tested in humans, several "high risk" groups were considered. These included male homosexuals, drug addicts, mentally deficient adults, Chinese-Americans, indigenous Alaskans, and patients and medical staff of kidney dialysis centers. After much debate, it was decided that young promiscuous gay men would be the best group to test the efficiency of the vaccine. Wolf Szmuness and the New York Blood Center Wolf Szmuness, a Polish physician trained in the Soviet Union, was placed in charge of the hepatitis B vaccine trial at the NY Blood Center. Szmuness, a Jew born in Poland in 1919, was a young medical student in eastern Poland when the Nazis invaded the country in the summer of 1939. When Poland was partitioned by Germany and Russia, Szmuness was sent to Siberia as a political prisoner. His entire family in western Poland was murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. His years in exile in Siberia were "a long dark period that he was most reluctant to talk about." June Goodfield in Quest for the Killers, provides the definitive account of the gay hepatitis experiment. During confinement in Siberia Szmuness was repeatedly interrogated and beaten by the Russian KGB for refusing to cooperate in spy activities. After release from detention in 1946 he was allowed to finish his medical education in Tomsk in central Russia. While a student, he married a Russian woman. He specialized in epidemiology, and when his wife contracted a nearly fatal case of hepatitis, he decided to dedicate his life to the study of this liver disease. In 1959 the Soviets allowed Szmuness, and his wife and daughter, to return to Poland where he worked as an epidemiologist in the health department. There are conflicting reports of how Szmuness came to America. According to Aaron Kellner, the founder of the NY Blood Center, the Communists allowed Szmuness and his family to attend a scientific meeting in Italy in 1969. While there, they defected to the West. Allan Chase, author of Magic Shots, claims Szmuness was driven out of Poland in a 1968 Communist purge of the few remaining Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. Goodfield writes that Polish anti-Semitism cost Szmuness his job, resulting in his applying for a visa which eventually enabled him to get out of Poland legally. From Rome the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society arranged for the family to come to the U.S. Szmuness arrived in Manhattan with $15 in his pocket. Through the intervention of Walsh McDermott, Professor of Public Health at New York Hospital, Szmuness was fortunate enough to secure a position as a lab technician at the New York City Blood Center. Within a few years he was given his own lab, and a separate department of epidemiology at the Center was created for him. In record time he was appointed Professor at the Columbia School of Public Health. By the mid-1970s he was a world authority on hepatitis. In another startling occurrence, Szmuness was invited back to Moscow in 1975 to give a scientific presentation. As a defector he was terrified to set foot in the Soviet Union, and memories of KGB torture and interrogation still plagued him. However, his colleagues assured him he would have the full protection of the U.S. State Department. His return to Russia was a scientific triumph. By the late 1970s he had been awarded millions of dollars in grant money and was fully prepared to undertake the most important mission of his life: the hepatitis B vaccine experiment. First, Szmuness became acquainted with the gay community, and added homosexual physicians and activists to his staff. He was taken into the gay ghetto where he viewed the baths, bars and discos. Promiscuous homosexuals were perfect guinea pigs. They would prove, beyond doubt, that Szmuness could wipe hepatitis B off the face of the earth. Tarketing gay men for the vaccine experiment In the late 1970s a bloodmobile began canvassing the gay neighborhood in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan, looking for homosexual volunteers. Over ten thousand men signed up and donated blood samples for Szmuness' upcoming experiment. (These stored donated blood specimens would eventually provide data regarding the spread of HIV/AIDS into the gay community.) Szmuness was highly selective in the men he chose as finalists. He required that the men be highly promiscuous. In fact, the more promiscuous the better. He was testing a vaccine against a sexually-transmitted virus. Therefore, he didn't want any monogamous men, or men with lovers, in his experiment. He also wanted men who were healthy, young, responsible, intelligent, and preferably white. Promiscuous bisexuals were acceptable, but heterosexual men were excluded from the experiment. The men had to have an address and a phone number, and be willing to provide blood samples over a long period of time. The hepatitis experiment was costly, and Szmuness didn't want any uncooperative or hard-to-find gays messing up his experiment. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, were all involved in the study, as well as big pharmaceutical companies, such as Merck, Sharp & Dohme Inc., and Abbott Laboratories. In preliminary experiments, Szmuness first tested his vaccine in chimpanzees. He then tested two hundred human volunteers, presumably gay men, by inoculating them with the vaccine. In the months before the official beginning of the experiment there had been no problem with the chimps or the volunteers. Szmuness was now ready to set the date for the final experiment- an experiment which would decimate the gay community in New York City, and then spread throughout the country. The vaccine experiments and the beginning of AIDS The first group of gays were inoculated in November 1978 at the New York City Blood Center. The experiment continued until October 1979. Over one thousand men from Manhattan were injected with Szmuness' vaccine. In January 1979, a few months after Wolf Szmuness began his experiment, purple skin lesions began to appear on the bodies of young white gay men in the Village area of Manhattan. The doctors were not sure exactly what was wrong with these men. During the next thirty months, Manhattan physicians encountered dozens of cases of a new disease characterized by immunodeficiency, Kaposi's sarcoma, and a rapidly fatal lung disease, known as Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. All the men were young and gay and promiscuous. Almost all were white. All died horribly. Within a few years, AIDS would become the leading cause of death of young men and young women living in New York City; and The Big Apple would be the epicenter of the new plague with the highest number of AIDS cases in the country. In March 1980 the CDC supervised additional gay experiments in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis and Chicago. In the fall of 1980 the first West Coast case of AIDS appeared in a young man from San Francisco. Six months later, in June 1981, the AIDS epidemic became "official." No one could understand why large numbers of young, white, previously healthy homosexual men were dying mysteriously in Manhattan, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. By the beginning of the 1980s, Szmuness was awarded millions of dollars for his research, and his hugely successful hepatitis vaccine was hailed as having tremendous global implications. He collaborated with the most powerful medical institutions in the nation: the NIH, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the FDA, the WHO, and the Cornell, Yale and Harvard Schools of Public Health and the Russian Academy of Medical Science. Other global connections included the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyons, France, and close associations with third world African countries. Even the services of the Sengalese Army were employed to secure blood specimens in one of Szmuness' many African experiments. In June 1982 Wolf Szmuness died of lung cancer. In a posthumous account of Szmuness, the founding president of the New York Blood Center, Aaron Kellner, wrote: "He was the quintessential doctor's doctor. Most physicians in their professional careers influence the lives of a few hundred or a few thousand people. Some fortunate ones can influence the lives of a few million. It is the rare physician who, like Wolf Szmuness, is given the grace to touch the lives of billions of people--those living on this planet and generations yet unborn." A 1983 report, published after Szmuness' death, detailed a new experimental hepatitis B vaccine program in Kangwane, using Black South African infants as subjects. Monkey virus business in Africa and its connection to the Blood Center From the very beginning of AIDS, government scientists claimed HIV virus originated as a primate virus, either from chimpanzees or monkeys, in the African jungle. From these primates it is believed the HIV virus was "introduced" into the African black population. Years later, I learned of a connection between the hepatitis B vaccine experiment at the New York Blood Center and its connection to an African primate laboratory that has never been revealed to the public, to my knowledge. In 1974, Albert Prince, head of the virus lab at the NY Blood Center, established a chimp virus laboratory in West Africa and became its director. Chimps were captured from various parts of West Africa and brought to VILAB. The lab prides itself by releasing "rehabilitated" chimps back into the wild. One of the purposes of VILAB II, located at the Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research in Robertsfield, Liberia, was to develop the hepatitis B vaccine in chimps. A few years later the experimental hepatitis B vaccine was inoculated into gays at the Blood Center. Also closely allied with the "pre-AIDS" development of a hepatitis B vaccine is the little publicized primate colony outside New York City called LEMSIP (the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery). Until disbanded in 1997, LEMSIP supplied New York area scientists with primates and primate parts for transplantation and virus research.Founded in 1965, LEMSIP was affiliated with the New York University Medical Center, where the first cases of AIDS-associated Kaposi's sarcoma were discovered in 1979. Researchers at NYU Medical Center were also heavily involved in the development of the experimental hepatitis B vaccine used in gays; and the Medical Center received government grants and contracts connected with biological warfare research beginning in 1969, according to Leonard Horowitz, author of Emerging Viruses: AIDS and Ebola. The AIDS aftermath of the gay vaccine experiment Most people are unaware of the gay experiments that immediately preceded the mass deaths in the gay community. But the details of the vaccine trials, and their effects on the health of homosexual men, are recorded for posterity in the annals of medical science. After Szmuness' death he was remembered and honored by a small coterie of distinguished scientists- the national and international medical power brokers who run medical science, and who represent the media darlings. On May 11, 1984, a landmark meeting took place in the nation's capitol to honor Wolf Szmuness. One of the most distinguished attendees was Dr. Robert Gallo, who had announced the discovery of the AIDS virus three weeks earlier. Those who paid tribute to Szmuness also included the top government scientists in AIDS and cancer, the two discoverers of the AIDS virus, the most well-known researchers in animal experimentation, the heads of the most prestigious biomedical establishments in the nation, and the chief executives of drug companies tied to genetic engineering, vaccine production, and biological warfare research. There was indeed a strange and ominous connection between cancer and AIDS, between animal experimentation and genetic engineering of viruses, between biological warfare technology and drug companies, between gay experiments and AIDS, between vaccine programs and the contamination of the nation's blood supply. Why else would all these people from diverse areas of science be attending this high level government conference? Despite the denial of the medical authorities, there was a connection between Szmuness' gay experiment and the outbreak of AIDS in American cities. It wasn't my imagination. And it wasn't a coincidence. The more I studied the hepatitis B experiment, the more the connections to biological warfare and genocide became apparent. African-Americans and man-made AIDS Rarely, a black celebrity, such as comedian Bill Cosby or disco diva Grace Jones, or popular actor Will Smith would astonish people by declaring AIDS was a man-made disease. But in media interviews, the subject was quickly changed. In Rolling Stone black filmmaker Spike Lee predicted a lot of people would have to do a lot of explaining about AIDS one day. How could a mysterious and incurable disease appear out of nowhere and specifically target gays and minorities? Lee thinks the mystery disease is "about as mysterious as genocide." He is convinced "AIDS is a government-engineered disease. They never realized it couldn't be contained to the groups it was intended to wipe out." Is Lee paranoid? He declares: "You might think I'm crazy about this one. I don't think so." This human protective psychological device called "denial" is the strongest argument against AIDS as a man-made disease For many people, the idea is too painful to bear and quickly dismissed. In my experience, physicians comprise the group most unreceptive to the concept. A common response of AIDS researchers to the issue is that they are so busy trying to find a cure for AIDS that they have no time to investigate such foolishness. Even gay AIDS activists use this ploy. Why do AIDS activists avoid the subject of AIDS biowarfare? Undoubtedly, they fear a confrontation on this issue. Activists are constantly badgering the government for more funding. Accusing officials of deliberate gay genocide might cause the government to stop listening to gay demands. According to the latest statistics posted on the Internet, about 20 million people worldwide have died of AIDS and 40 million more are infected with HIV, most in Sub-Saharan Africa. About 600,000 Americans have died. The disproportionately high rate of AIDS in the Black community raises the specter of black genocide. A New York Times editorial ("The 'AIDS Plot' Against Blacks," May 12, 1992) emphasized that "bizarre as it may seem to most people, many Black Americans believe that AIDS and the health measures used against it are part of a conspiracy to wipe out the Black race. The scientific evidence for man-made AIDS After studying the scientific evidence for man-made AIDS for so long, it is difficult for me to imagine anyone who knows the "facts" surrounding the origin of HIV/AIDS who cannot see a possible connection between the gay experiments and the outbreak of the "gay plague." Although the evidence is circumstantial, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that HIV (along with the new Kaposi's sarcoma virus) was seeded into gay men via contaminated vaccines as part of the hepatitis experiment. But during my initial study of the hepatitis trials, I had overlooked the most obvious piece of evidence linking AIDS to Szmuness' experiment. The strongest piece of evidence was in the tremendous success of the vaccine trials! According to June Goodfield: "In those (gay men) who received all three injections, 96% developed antibodies against the (hepatitis) virus. Overall, the vaccine was shown to be 92.3 percent effective in protecting high risk individuals against hepatitis B; these findings are of an order of magnitude that has never been equaled in any other vaccine trial, either before or since." The experiment could never have been so phenomenally successful if the gay men were infected with HIV before the experiment! The reason for this is now obvious. More recent studies have shown that hepatitis B vaccination is not very successful in immunodepressed people. In HIV-positive individuals, the success rate of the hepatitis B vaccine is about 50%, only protecting one out of two people infected with the AIDS virus. The gay men in Szmuness' study were healthy before the experiment- and damaged afterward. The experiment would have been a failure (never 96% effective) if the immune systems of the men hadn't been working at full capacity. The cohort was infected with HIV at the time of the experiment- not before. By permanently changing the genetic structure (via HIV) of homosexual men, the gay experiment devastated the homosexual community in America. Health officials now predict the odds of a teenage male homosexual reaching the age of 60 without becoming HIV-positive is 50-50. Is AIDS a covert genocide program against homosexual men? Is AIDS genocide against Black Africans? For those aware of evidence presented, the answer is yes. The AIDS aftermath of the gay experiment A 1986 report in JAMA showed 20% of the men in the experiment were already infected with HIV by the end of 1981; and by 1984, more than 40% of the men were HIV-positive and doomed to death. Another follow-up study of 8,906 gay men who donated blood for the hepatitis experiments in Manhattan was released in 1992. Statistical analysis of this group showed that mortality rates for men aged 25-44 began to rise in the 1980s, with AIDS the leading cause of death among young men in New York City. Remarkably, "The all-cause mortality in this cohort in 1988 was 24 times higher that the mortality rate in the cohort before the beginning of the AIDS epidemic." A final paper appearing on the "natural history of HIV infection" and titled "Long-Term Survival after Infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) among Homosexual Men in Hepatitis B Vaccine Trial Cohorts in Amsterdam, New York City, and San Francisco, 1978-1995", appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 1999. It is clear from "Table One" that fifty eight of these young men had died, and 93% of then died of AIDS. Primate viruses out of Africa - or out of a laboratory? Why is AIDS a heterosexual disease in Africa, and a "gay" disease in the United States? Do African Blacks make love differently than white heterosexuals? How did Black African men acquire HIV? Were they all sodomized? What kind of sexually transmitted agent spreads heterosexually in Africa and homosexually in America? And rarely, if ever, is transmitted between non-drug-using lesbians? There are millions of white people in Sub-Saharan Africa. If HIV had been present for decades (as scientists insist), why is AIDS primarily a black man's disease-and not also a white man's disease in Africa? In the U.S., why was AIDS first discovered in white gays, but not in black gays? There is no evidence that AIDS in America came from Africa or anywhere else outside of the USA. There is no possible way a black heterosexual sexually-transmitted epidemic in Africa could have transformed itself initially into a white gay man's disease in America. That, in itself, is the "smoking gun." Why weren't the first cases seen in Asian-Americans or Native Americans? Why no cases in women? Why no cases in infants, in the elderly, and in immunodeficient people with chronic diseases--the groups most likely to acquire a contagious virus, and the groups most likely to die quickly from HIV? Why was there no "incubation period" for HIV in the U.S.? As soon as the gay experiment started, it was quickly followed by "gay-related immune deficiency disease"-later to be known as "acquired" immune disease. Gay, Black and Universal Genocide The introduction of HIV via the hepatitis B trials was a deliberate attempt to liquidate the gay community - and then blame homosexual men for spreading the disease to the "general population" because of their perverted and "high risk" lifestyle. Why did a new "gay disease" erupt as soon as homosexuals, the most hated people in America, presented themselves as guinea pigs to medical scientists? Another coincidence of nature caused by monkeys in the African jungle? Why are new retroviral diseases, never before seen in modern medicine. appearing so soon after retroviruses were "discovered"? (Google: The Special Cancer Virus Program of the 1970s, the birthplace of HIV and AIDS) Why did the AIDS "supervirus" appear a decade after it was predicted by the biowarfare experts? (Google the Congressional testimony of biological warfare researcher "Dr. Donald MacArthur " in 1969.) Another coincidence? The public has been carefully taught that Blacks and Gays and African Green Monkeys are responsible for causing AIDS. These politically correct and scientifically correct "facts" are accepted by most people without question. How many more AIDS deaths are required before people speak out against this secret genocide- and the obvious connection of vaccine experiments and the "introduction" of lethal viruses into "select populations"? Another view about hiv/aids Who Says Africans/ Haitians Gave AIDS to the World? History Answers: Follow the Accuser’s Thumb by Jafrikayiti Global Research, November 11, 2007 Email this article to a friend Print this article The recent study published by Michael Worobey et. al1. theorizing that AIDS left Africa for Haiti in the mid 1960s and then stormed into the U.S. may turn out to be a very positive event both for the advancement of science and for unveiling just how pervasively white supremacist ideologies still taint the modern scientific community. This study is forcing us to lift many rocks underneath which lurks some very creepy creatures to whom social as well as natural scientists need pay closer attention. The media fanfare that accompany Worobey’s “Super -Contaminated Haitian Immigrant who single-handily carried AIDS from his ancestral Africa back to America ” hypothesis is rather strange considering how a major AIDS – related news concerning the tragic failure of Merk’s Experimental AIDS Vaccine2 went almost unnoticed, just a month earlier. Is this indicative of what really makes Fortress America tick? The timing of Worobey's study is also an important element to take into consideration. It has hit the news the same month that James Watson, the aged Nobel laureate geneticist, suggested that: "Africans are genetically inferior to Europeans". Although many in the scientific community jumped in the bandwagon condemning Watson, there is little evidence that the white supremacist ideas he expressed are a rarity in this milieu. In fact, his statements reported in a November 2000 article of the San Francisco Chronicle3, suggest that Watson's racism is anything but sudden. But, is Watson in want for company in 2007? Hardly so! To convince themselves of the genetic superiority of their "race", we have seen many despicable efforts deployed recently by white scientists from disciplines like archeology and computer modeling. For instance, some have specialized in what I would term "virtual Michaeljacksonism" whereby the Black grandson of Black Queen Tiye4, has been turned into a white-skinned boy lost in KMT, the land of OSIRIS - the Land of the Blacks. This fraudulent whitening of the famous African Pharaoh Tuntankhamun has been brilliantly exposed on the website of Professor Manu Ampim5. The scientific creed that seems to guide these folks appear rather simple. If it is a great civilization in Africa, whereby builders of majestic and awe-inspiring pyramids have painted themselves in their own tombs6, looking exactly as they do as their ancestors before them did, exactly as they were described by the ancient Greeks, the computer modeling done by the so-called modern experts must find a way to correct all anomalies, until those responsible for these great feat of civilization become as white as can be. Conversely, if the matter concerns a deadly pandemic that takes root in colonial Africa, whereby European colonizers had complete control over the African continent, traveling to and fro as often as they please. Whereby plenty of evidence confirms 1) that contaminated polio vaccines made from Chimp tissue and tested on millions of people have resulted in well documented deaths7 2) That the scientists involved have been caught lying and trying to cover up 8the facts 3) that it is clear that there was every opportunity for HIV to be one of the many contaminations of the Polio Vaccines which colonized Africans were forced to receive 4) that all this evidence of a man-made origin of AIDS have been available to the scientific community all along (including video evidence, which you the reader can now consult online in English9 and in French10)… Yet, somehow, Worobey’s computer model finds this one descendant of deported Africans who leaves his native Haiti sometimes in the 1960s to go to Africa (please note there has never been a direct flight linking Haiti with any country in Africa), then beats all the frequent flyers and frequent boaters of his time to return to Haiti (which he was fleeing for fear of political persecution), under the same Duvalier dictatorship still in place upon his return. And, at last, our intrepid Haitian globetrotter extraordinaire, invades America to bring the HIV virus he was carrying where no HIV has gone before. Indeed, for all its flaws, Worobey’s study offers an opportunity for everyone, Haitians in particular, to discover some very important information about the AIDS phenomenon and about the deep-seated racism that still permeates our post-colonial world - including the so-called "scientific community". 1. The fact that Michael Worobey has often been called upon to try to quiet down or to discredit Edward Hooper’ theory which posits that the AIDS pandemic stems from contaminated polio vaccination campaign is not at all insignificant. Last year Hooper warned about potential manipulation of data to create false but sensational scientific results11. 2. The outrage caused by Worobey’s indexing of Haitians as the culprits who brought AIDS to the U.S. has led to more people learning how AIDS more than likely got created in colonized Africa in the first place. i.e through Euro-American scientists’ unethical vaccine production and testing in colonial Congo. White world leaders, including those hiding under the cover of science or humanism, have a tendency to gang up on South-African President Thabo Mbeki whenever he dares lend an ear to the scientists who insist that the man-made disease theory, among others, deserve to be taken seriously. Now, perhaps, more people will take the time to weigh the evidence before they pass judgment. In one of his powerful speeches12, African man of science and humanitarian Dr. Phillip Emeagwali wrote: "Religion is based on faith, while science is based on fact and reason - and science is neutral to race. Unfortunately, scientists are not neutral to race. Take, for example, the origin of AIDS, an international disease. According to scientific records, the first person to die from AIDS was a 25-year-old sailor named David Carr, of Manchester, England. Carr died on August 31, 1959, and because the disease that killed him was then unknown, his tissue samples were saved for future analysis. The “unknown disease” that killed David Carr was reported in The Lancet on October 29, 1960. On July 7, 1990, The Lancet retested those old tissue samples taken from David Carr and reconfirmed that he had died of AIDS." Quickly, subsequent studies13 came to discredit this conclusion of a European (British) origin for AIDS. Obviously, unlike Britain, Haiti does not have the necessary army of scientists to conduct quick studies to escape the consequences of the stigma associated with such heavy accusations (CDC's 4H in the 1980s and now Worobey's). So, Worobey's latest storm will almost certainly cause more damage to Haiti than was ever suffered by Britain. And, as we can see from the way the dominant media outlets treat information, it will be a while before truth and justice prevail in this debate. But, every now and again an honest voice is raised loud enough to remind us not to allow our brains to fall asleep and to remain vigilant. Dr. Paul Farmer's is one such voice and his book AIDS and Accusations: Haiti and the Geography of Blame14 could not have had a more appropriate title. Brian Martin in "The burden of proof and the origin of acquired immune deficiency syndrome"15 wrote the following: "There is a distinct difference in the way that different theories about the origin of acquired immune deficiency syndrome have been treated, with the widely supported cut-hunter theory given relatively little scrutiny, while the oral polio vaccine theory has been subject to intense criticism. This difference in treatment cannot be explained as application of the scientific method. A better explanation is that the burden of proof is put on all contenders to the cut-hunter theory, giving it an unfair advantage, especially given that this assignment of the burden of proof appears to reflect non-scientific factors".
