http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/22/chris-matthews-the-media_n_98086.html - - - It's interesting to watch the media as they continue to promote the theft of the nomination from Barack Obama, the still presumed (eventual) Democratic nominee (unless a rock falls from the sky and hits him on the head). These folks have never wanted Barack to win all along, they've just wanted to milk the Democratic race for its ratings. Of course, we all knew this a long time ago, and reality is still raising its (so to speak, ugly) head. |

Blacks need to come up with a response RIGHT NOW. They (the Democrats, Republicans, the media and white folks) have already crossed the line. |

Blacks need to come up with a response RIGHT NOW. They (the Democrats, Republicans, the media and white folks) have already crossed the line. (For Blacks to do anything would be the kiss of death. The Democratic leadership and the Obama organization have this in their hands. This was going to be in the cards and you all knew it. You think with America being as racist as it is, that the white folks wouldn't pull the race card? If the DEMOCRATIC candidate will do it, whatchoo think the Republican will do? The only thing Blacks can do if Hillary is successful is to sit on their hands this fall. You got to teach Democrats they don't campaign like Republicans or they'll do it everytime. Boy are you silly. Did we forget to take our lithium again? |

This is not a contest between the homecoming king, and the ol catty captain of the cheerleading team who has been been spreading gossip around the school. Teaching people a lesson is not what's at stake here, especially when the lesson being advocated is how to be counter productive by cutting off your nose to spite your face. This is about rising above pettiness, about keeping out an old codger who will exacerbate the terrible shape this country is in. Why reward Dubya for the mess he made by electing a clone of him? Stuff the playground mentality and use a little foresight. But of course, the losers whether they be fans of the cheerleader or of the homecoming king will slump into pout mode, and will take their bats and balls and go home if their favorite doesn't win. What this country needs is a benign dictator. |

This is about rising above pettiness, about keeping out an old codger who will exacerbate the terrible shape this country is in. (No, it's about the winner making billions of dollars for the people who put up the money for him/her to get in. People will kill for that. The country is in great shape for the upper 10%. That is all who counts now. It's kind of like Elizabethan England--the rulers only care about what we think about what they do after the fact. What we might want is not part of the calculations. They know, after 2000 and 2004, that we won't do anything about it. What this country needs is a benign dictator. (Name when there has ever been one. We are going to get one, I say within the next 20 years. He/she will not be benign) |

Is Obama aware of this? If he is, then he is as bad as Hillary. |

Is Obama aware of this? If he is, then he is as bad as Hillary (If he is not, or he thinks he can somehow finesse them afterward, he won't be around long--a la Jack Kennedy. Bad as Hillary? I dunno. see below The Politics of Obliteration Hillary's Monstrous Threat By DAVE LINDORFF Tough guy Hillary Clinton, on the morning of a critical primary vote in Pennsylvania, uttered a monstrous threat, saying on ABC's "Good Morning America program today that if Iran were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel while she was president, "we would be able to totally obliterate them." Think about that a moment! A country that we view as a theocracy, run dictatorially by a bunch of self-appointed religious fanatics, whose rule is enforced by an army of equally fanatic quasi-military thugs and enforcers, launches an attack on America's ally Israel, and Clinton says her response would be to incinerate the people of that country--people who are as powerless to stop such an attack as would be the people of Israel or the United States. Is this the way we want the world the work? Is this the way we want our government to act? Granted that if Iran's leaders were, for some crazy reason, to decide to launch an unprovoked nuclear attack on Israel, it would require some kind of response by the US and other nations, but is the appropriate response the slaughter of tens of millions of innocent Iranian citizens? Of course not. The destruction of Iran's government might be a logical response. Certainly the incineration of the Religious Council might be appropriate, or the leveling of the country's military headquarters and its command and control system. But killing the country's people, who are civilians and have no say over such things, is pathological. Clinton, hoping to prove her testerone levels are high, and to win votes and much-needed campaign swill from backers of Israel, is channeling her inner McCain. What makes this particular threat so disgusting is that Clinton knows better. Unlike McCain, who appears to relish the thought of death and mayhem, whether in Iraq or Iran, and who presents his history of bombing dikes and hospitals in North Vietnam as heroic exploits, she opposed that war in Indochina once upon a time. I assume that among other things she opposed the Indochina War because she thought it was wrong for the US to be slaughtering millions of innocent peasants. Now she's talking about slaughtering not millions of innocent Vietnamese, but tens of millions of innocent Iranians. What a fine display of leadership potential we have here! As far as I'm concerned Clinton has just disqualified herself for the job of commander in chief of the world's most awesome military power. We've had our experience with a power-crazed, jingoistic leader, and we're living with the ugly results--five years of pointless bloody war. At least so far, though, George Bush has kept his finger off the nuclear button (unless reports prove true that small nuclear bunker busters were employed secretly in Iraq and Afghanistan). Now Clinton is saying she's ready to push that button. Folks, if you haven't already got reason enough to reject this woman--her lies about her support for NAFTA, her red-baiting of Barack Obama, her lies about her visit "under fire" to Bosnia, her corrupt financial history, etc., etc.--this latest statement about her readiness to incinerate a nation of 70 million people for the actions of their leaders ought to do the trick. Hillary Clinton is the Democratic answer to John McCain. They both belong where they are, in the Senate, where they can do no harm. DAVE LINDORFF is a Philadelphia-based journalist and columnist. His latest book is "The Case for Impeachment" (St. Martin's Press, 2006, and now available in paperback edition). His work is available at www.thiscantbehappening.net

This guy is presenting the worst case scenario. He's a panic peddler. The senate has learned its lesson when it comes to backing a president who wants to wage war. As a woman, Hillary Clinton will be hamstrung should she become elected. Cooler heads from the ol boy network will slap her down if she tries to grow balls. |

"The only thing Blacks can do if Hillary is successful is to sit on their hands this fall." What a lily-livered response. I say we start forcing unregistered Black people, city by city and county by county, to get registered RIGHT NOW, telling them to vote no matter what come November. That'll send the massage. America knows us well enough to envision exactly what we will do to Hillary now that she, the Dems, and the media already have crossed the line.

Chris, we all knew that the race card would be played. The best judge of how Barack would do in the fall is to judge the success of his campaign. The Clinton's are constantly trying to obfuscate that fact. |
