No, it's not all right. But the situation can become ambivalent when the accuser allows herself to be bought off by not pursuing her allegations, and the culprit subsequently tries to mend the error of his ways. Rehabilitation should always be a possibility and criminals are, after all, given second chances all of the time. That's what parole and probation are all about, dumb-dumb.
