I have just one question to ask of Cosby critics. Is he doing more harm than good by exhorting black people to try and turn things around so that the next generation can become upstanding and self-sufficient? Yes, the flawed Mr. Cosby can be accused of being a dreamer, but MLK was a dreamer, too.
Of ourse, malcontents want to echo motor mouths like Michael Eric Dyson who prefer to reinforce a nightmare wherein The System is the Boogie Man. The real dreamers are these folks who think America is going to accomodate black faliure by transforming into itself into a Socialistic form of government.
Jesse Jackson, who is no slouch himself when it comes to eloquence, reminded Blacks that "nobody can save us form us but us". I still give ol rappin Cos an "E" for effort. |

Well said and most accurate, no doubt. But unfortunately, your message will fall on deaf hears for a tragic number of Negroes. The M.E. Dyson virus is just as deadly as the AIDS virus. It has extracted a horrific toll on black America. For those infected: "It's not my fault...the white man made me do it...they're tying to kill and imprison all the brothers....since you don't believe in reparations, you're an Uncle Tom....black kids are failing in school because white people are behind it...since you don't agree with me -you hate yourself (the most popular and universal accusation)....the white man gave AIDS to black people to kill them....it's not black peoples fault that black men won't support their children and black women continue to have the highest rate of illegitimacy in the world...blah..blah...blah..."
The mindset of racist conspiracies, entitlement and victimization trump Cosby's message of personal responsibility, stop making excuses, get an education, support your children, gangs are bad, etc, etc.... They will fight you tooth and nail and hysterically rail against you as a race traitor and self hater(?) if you dare to speak against the cancer of cultural pathology that is draining the life from black America.
Your reward for speaking out against a cottage industry of excuse making and finger pointing? More name calling and personal attacks. Never mind the problems and issues that Cosby addresses, just attack him for his personal stumbles and secrets. That way, by attacking him and calling him names, forcing him and supporters to defend him, we'll keep the light off the "real issues" as they mount daily and continue their lethal toll on black Americans. And so it goes......

I don't know. Unlike some, I do not get the feeling that Cosby is doing/saying what he is out of malice. I get the feeling he thinks/hopes he is really helping. I also do not necessarily see an inconsistency between this crusade and his...other activities. Maybe he is trying to atone for his negative actions or something... |

(Of course he's not doing it out of malice.
He's doing it because he's a foul stinking dog how cannot bring himself to stop raping women because it gets him off so much and gives him a feeling of power. Therefore he, like lots of people, projects his self hatred on other people and tries to erase it from them.
Therefore it is everybody else's fault he is a lowdown, stinking, raping animal.
That, and since it came out that he has all the morals of a billygoat and he has been banned from selling Jello, he is trying to get back in America's good graces.
What better thing to do than excoriate poor black folk.
He should stop raping women and cheating on his wife and own up to the fact that he's done it for years.

Who are you to judge, Bill Cosby, chrishayden??? For all you know, he has confessed his sins to his maker and asked for forgiveness. He owes no public explanation to mutts like you who continue to snap at his heels. You are so naive when it comes to people like Cosby and Bill Clinton. Their transgressions apparently shattered you because you put them on a pedestal, imagining they were immune to the sins of mortal man, and when they stumbled, you were so crestfallen you couldn't recover. So you stand around casting stones at them, filled with rancor and disappointment. Poor ol fella. |

If you are rich, and a comedian, and on television, you can rape and, not only get away with it, but run other people down for their sins.

The dangerous thing about such masochistic, self loathing bootlicking behavior is that everybody starts kicking you.
After all, once other black people get the idea that you don't respect yourself, they don't feel like they are hurting anything when they victimize you.

I repeat, chrishayden: if you'd stop setting yourself up as a judge and a prophet, then you wouldn't be so frustrated. Why does "your" bible take precedent over anybody else's interpretations?
