Yeah, if Obama's own tax returns can hold up under scrutiny. Does it ever occur to grizzlies like you, chrishayden, that that's why Obama hasn't been more aggressive when it comes to exposing people's dealings???? |

Obama has released his and his wife's full 2006 tax form. It has been posted on the internet and widely picked apart. So far as I know, nothing has come up. Why is it so difficult to release this information in a timely fashion? Why wouldn't folks get suspicious when politicians are hesitant to do this? As for HRC, I have read that she plans to release hers later next month. |

Here is a link from TaxProf Blog: http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2007/04/baracj_obamas_2.html Funniest comment: "I think it is funny that Obama did not check the box to have $3 go to the Presidential Election Campaign on his tax return!!" LOL! |

Obama has publicly released all of his Income Tax Returns as far back as 2004, when he first ran for the U.S. Senate. Assuming the Clintons had released their Tax Returns, what's the likelihood that the Clintons and media would have allowed Obama to get away with NOT releasing his Tax Returns, ESPECIALLY prior to last week's primaries (that Clinton DESPERATELY needed to do well in to stay in the race)? All this business that Hillary is getting tuffer scrutiny from the press is complete and total BVLLSH*T. |

Well, considering all of the folks who cheat on their income tax, looks like The Clntons could have a built-in constituency that should worth a sizeable amount of votes. I can't imagine that as slick as everybody thinks the Clintons are, that they would leave themselves open for having their dishonesty proven. |

Cynique, I do not think it is dishonesty folks think might be in these returns as much as a clearer picture of whose hands have been in whose pockets. Of course, Obama is facing these same questions with his dealings. Really tho, I wonder if all of these permutations, for such a long period of time during campaigns is more for the sake of making $ in ratings than for actual voter decision making. |

This campaign is heaven-sent for the media. All of the drama and intrigue and he said/she said is what provides material for the talking heads and ink for the newspapers. Every day there's another charge or counter-charge. Frankly, I'm gettin sick of it. |

Yvettep, There is a story that I saw presented on CSPAN a few days that alleges Bill Clinton made a $300,000 profit on the sale of the stock of a company that soon thereafter went under. The implication is the company's management gave him the 411 BEFORE they declared bankruptcy. "That is 'What is Insider Trading?' for 500 points, Alex." See. THIS is why we need to see the Clinton's tax returns. Because this speaks directly to the INTEGRITY and HONESTY of the Clintons, or LACK THERE OF. Let's not forget: Martha Stewart went to PRISON because she lied about pulling some sh*t like this. And it ain't like we haven't already witnessed Bill "The Sperminator" Clinton lie to federal prosecutors. |

Do Bill and Hillary file joint or separate taxes? If they file separately, should we demand BC release his tax records too? This demand for taxes is Senator Obama's way of "fighting back." As someone said, it is like bringing a powder puff to a knife fight. |

I was wondering the same thing, Robynmarie, whether or not Bill and Hil file separately. |

Robynmarie, Yes they file jointly. But lets say they file separately. Are we going to absolve her of Bill's shannigans when her HUSBAND Bill and his vaunted 'record' are PRIMARILY responsible for her even BEING a presidential candidate? Are we going to think this (so-called) brillant women didn't and shouldn't have known about Bill's underhanded financial dealings...THEN turn over to her the keys to a 4-TRILLION dollar Annual budget that we ALL get TAXED to fund? Look. If you're going to be given the power to tax +250 million people you're gotdayamright I want to know how you and your spouse - especially one who's a friggin' former PRESIDENT - are handling your OWN financial business. If you ain't willing to show/prove, you need to get the fuhk out of here. |

The president doesn't have the sole power to tax 250 million people. And McCain's plans to stay in Iraq could cost tax payers billions of dollars. When it comes to the office of president, in this race, it's just a matter of pickin your poison |
