Could Obama Lose One Quarter of Hillary's Supporters in a General Election? http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MmI2MWQxOWVmYzg2YmQ4MTZhNjAxM2QwN 2IyYjMyZTk The Campaign Spot Jim Geraghty Monday, March 03, 2008 Daniel Larison notes that in the latest Pew poll, "Obamacans" - those Republicans who are supporting Obama — are outnumbered two-to-one by what we would have to call "McCainocrats." Also note: A quarter of Democrats (25%) who back Clinton for the nomination say they would favor McCain in a general election test against Obama. The "defection" rate among Obama's supporters if Clinton wins the nomination is far lower; just 10% say they would vote for McCain in November, while 86% say they would back Clinton. Girl, pulease! Hillary won't get HALF of those who voted for Obama. Hell, most of those foks are either going to vote for McCain or avoid voting altogether. |

Black people who say they will sit out the election are likely a part of the vocal minority. I hear just as many folks saying that well, if Obama doesn't get the election, they'll just go ahead and vote for ol Hillary because the reason they're against her is, "um, because, well you know, she is, like - um, you know, all that stuff about her, and um, well, I don't like her because, um, well you know, she's s'posed to be a b i t c h and all that - but Ima go head on and vote Democratic."

IT'S TIME TO CALL IN HATCHET MEN AGAINST THE CLINTONS By DICK MORRIS and EILEEN McGANN Bill and Hillary Clinton stroll in Washington. March 9, 2008 -- Clintons are trying to steal the nomination from Barack Obama - and he can't let them. The Clintons' campaign attacks put Obama in a bind. If he doesn't answer in kind, he's toast. But if he does, they'll have forced him off his winning message of hope and change from the bitter politics of the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush eras. If they pull him off his game and onto theirs, they can wrest away the Democratic convention victory that he's earned. The solution for Obama is clear: Reply in kind, but do it through surrogates. Obama must answer Hillary's negative attacks and make counterpunches of his own to rock her back on her heels. His holier-than-thou posture is fine for the opening stages of a campaign, but when your opponent starts throwing mud, you've got to answer. While Hillary takes aim at Obama's buddy, Tony Rezko, the Obama people need to explore the dimensions of Hillary's relationship with con artist Norman Hsu, who donated almost a million dollars to her campaign, money he'd scammed from gullible investors. Obama needs to enlist the likes of Ted Kennedy and his other supporters in making the case against Hillary. After her victories in Texas and Ohio, Hillary is once again in play. Negatives about her matter. A full frontal assault on her integrity and on Bill's conflicts of interest (remember they have joint finances) will work and will stop the bleeding in the Obama campaign. The Clintons would like nothing better than for Obama to remain passive, clinging to his desire to raise the tone of our politics. If Sen. Clinton resorts to negative ads in the remaining primary states, Obama needs to do so, too, always keeping himself off camera and using an announcer to articulate his message. As long as his attacks center on Hillary's and Bill's financial dealings and their relationships with lobbyists and special-interest groups, he will remain on message and his attacks will be in sync with his general approach to the race. But Obama must make no mistake - it's time to fight back.

That slimey turn coat Dick Morris has about as much credibility as you, chrishayden. He knows all the dirty tricks because he is a low life scum himself. |

Why is everyone acting as if negativity, hardball and such are new aspects of politics? Or purely American? And here's a thought: In an environment in which "dirty" is standard practice, the next step in hardball is to claim to/actually not play dirty at all... |

Obama's people don't know which way to turn, now. They've painted themselves in a corner with all of their platitudes, and now they have let the opposition dictate their next move. The Obama crowd with all of its "taking-the-high-road" crusading left Hillary's henchmen with no choice but to become the water hose that would attempt to put out the flame of the "yes, we can" wild fires. Both camps need to focus on John McCain and the issues people care about, and stop trying to "one up" each other. |

I guess since Dick Morris is the one who's primarily responsible for getting Slick Dyck Bill in the White House he's probably best equipped to beat the Clintons. |

I wouldn't trust nor believe anything coming from the mouth of Dick Morris……PERIOD! The man has some serious axes to grind with the Clintons. He has been on a personal vindictive smear campaign against them. I don't know if any of his Clinton hatred is merited or not, but I know he as written books viscously attacking Bill and Hillary in addition to being a coveted VIP for FOX Channel news (almost a weekly guest on Bill O’Reilly and the Hannity and Colmes shows) when vitriol is needed against Democrats and the Clintons. Bottom line: I would be very suspect of anything this man says or suggests. He has a vested interest in creating chaos and seeing the Democrats blow an opportunity to take the White House.

The same Dick Morris who has a vendetta against the Clintons. And if he was solely responsible for getting the Clintons in the white house then maybe people should stop blaming the Clintons for Morris' dirty work. |

”You mean the SAME Dick Morris who GOT the Clinton's in the White House 16 years ago? The SAME Dick Morris who's taught the Clintons much of the very manuevering and dirty tricks they're currently using against Obama?” Yep! That’s the same treacherous guy. ”What? We should listen to and believe the pupils but ignore their sensei?” Yep! This is the same ass hole who was a drooling cheer leader and apologist for Bush until recently. At first, he was a happy drum major for the White House and all the supporting party hack bobble heads (Rice, Chaney, Rumsfield, Wolfowitz, Gonzales, et al) who eagerly kissed Bush’s ass each day. Then when one catastrophic failure after another began taking its toll on Bush’s seemingly sterling image (you all recall what life was like in America for ”anyone” who dared to question or criticize this man after the demise of Saddam Hussein’s rule in Iraq and the initial drudging of the Taliban in Afghanistan), Dick Morris slowly started distancing himself from Bush. But prior to that, he was very supportive of the Republicans and Bush and extremely critical of the Democrats and so-called liberals. So once again, I wouldn’t listen to a damn thing he has to say.
