To Michael Steele I say, Yay!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah he’s a Republican. But I listened to him speak at Tavis Smiley’s State of The Blk Union and I was pleased to hear him mix his vital message of self empowerment with such strong pro-Black nationalism and zeal. I thought he was INCREDIBLE at the Tavis Smiley State of The Black Union. And the fact the he showed up made him even more appealing. If Hillary is looking for the perfect running mate to attract Republicans and more swing voters and to offset the current controversy with African-American voters, I think she should choose Michael Steele. It's a good solution. What do you think?

You can't be serious. Do you really think the DNC would allow a Republican Black Nationalist to be on the ticket with Hillary or anybody else?? At this point, this contest has descended into a popularity contest with "experience" and "judgment" being the rallying cries. Nobody is paying any attention to the issues anymore. It's just a hot mess. If she wins out, Hillary will never be able to convince Obama supporters that she didn't STEAL the nomination, and Blacks will punish and desert her in droves. And Barak can kiss the Hispanic and Asian vote "good-bye" because these people have no use for Blacks. And, as it stands, neither one of these power junkies will consider running as vice-president; sooooo the Democratic party may very well self-destruct. "Pride goeth before a fall". |

(I quote a former Vice President, who said the job isn't worth a pail of warm spit. Now how would you like to be Vice President with Bill Clinton in the mix? Or Michele Obama?) |

Chris, you just mad because....O, heck, I'll spare ya, gol!! Cynique, the DNC would do ANYTHING to avoid having its party ripped to shreds. They're going to have to do something bold anyway. Putting Steele on the ticket is bold and it's a good idea. First of all a Dem/Repub ticket is so different that it alone would attract lots of attention and massive news coverage. Plus, Steele is an extremely popular moderate Republican with moderate views, a fresh face, tons of charisma, and remarkable oratory shills. He’d have no problem attracting attention and, boy, I bet he'd rake in votes from all over the political spectrum. And since he knows how to keep it real, he would appeal to a wide range of Blacks too. Again, I like the way he kicked it with Tavis Smiley. He stuck to his message of self empowerment but it was a mixture of personal responsibility and self improvement and Black love, Black strength and Black unity. It wasn't an either/or approach, it was both.
