Posted on Saturday, March 01, 2008 - 09:59 am:        FK, I do recommend it, especially if you liked her previous stuff. But I do have a continuing beef with her and that is that she seems to have only one volume setting for her stuff: soft! No matter what she is singing about--no matter how painful or angry--she sings smoothly and rather softly. (That was the same thing that annoyed me about Sade, tho of course the two are totally different artists.) It is also annoying that artists like Wright and Cassandra Wilson are marketed as "jazz singers." I guess because they do not sing hip hop and they are Black. But both are really more folk or pop artists (pop in the sense of, like, Barbra Streisand, not Rihanna lol) But yeah, good mood music.
