Enchanted, if I may butt in, I don't think it really matters that you're posting anonymously under a screen name. In fact, I believe that's the accepted practice in cyberspace; especially on forums such as this. What makes people upset, well, what upsets me, is when people have (suspected) sockpuppets pleading their cause, in a mock and UNFAIR display of support to further a certain perspective or a certain agenda. Not only is that an unfair advantage, it is also unethical - and doing so insults people's intelligence.
Anyhowway, that's my take on why you or Kola or ANYONE would receive flack when having suspected sockpuppets supporting your views. Your opinion is your opinion. Not only are you entitled to it, but you will invariably have others who legitimately support and totally agree with your opinion. And if you don't then, big deal, you don't. It's not the end of the world. We've all been disagreed with, gotten into debates, sometimes heated debates. We move on and live to tell the tale the next day. If we're lucky, we may even learn something from an opposing view. If not, we'll meet again in the next thread - for the next knock-down-drag-out. So the use of sockpuppets is really unnecessary, as I see it. |

I gotta make this quick. I'm on my way to my 7yo and 10yo's elementary school for their Black History Month Celebration performances.
Enchanted, I'll freely admit that I have my suspicions that you are a Kola sockpuppet. Not so much because you tend to agree with her perspective of niggerstock, colorism and so forth, but because your writing style is "overdone". It reads not only as false, but forced. I deal with language everyday; I'm in the business of words. There are basic typos that we're all subject to make, like writing 'now' when we mean 'know'.
But 'stranjers' 'yeers' 'explane,' dropping the final letter of many words, then going on to spell 'abortion' 'paranoid' and 'tangled' and 'beloved' correctly. That's an unnatural and inconsistent pattern, which is not only false but deliberate.
In my mind, questions are raised as to why anyone would go to so much trouble to "throw people off" if not to conceal their true identity. Some people choose to remain silent and not make mention of what they suspect. Others voice their suspicions.
Everyone here knows Kola and I have a love-hate relationship but, truth be told, I have loads of admiration for Kola. She's a ballsy gal with an over-the-top persona, and I like that. That said, I don't believe Kola needs you or me or anyone to defend her. She has demonstrated time and again that she can handle herself. Nonetheless, I do agree that it is unfair to discuss her when she's not around to defend herself - that goes for anybody. Yet, many question whether or not Kola is truly not around. |
