Does the pain you likewise feel stem from how a professional, educated, well-spoken, good parent like Obama is the epitome of what the dreaded Bill Cosby visualizes for black men, chrishayden? Like Cosby, Obama also has criticized the "acting white" syndrome which inhibits black children from wanting to get an education, an accusation that riled the Cosby-haters on this board - some of whom are also the Obama lovers - who are also the Hillary haters. |

Oh. There's a lunar eclipse out tonight at midnight and I'm going outside in the cold to hold my tickets up to the sky, hoping I can send my numbers out into the universe where the can be drawn down by the magnetic force of the lottery machine. Or something. |

lol ... well i hope it works. i don't hate hillary. i just think that she needs a lot of polishing up. i will admit, i don't like her style of politics. i definitely don't like tonya's daily anti-obama article, but i definitely like the fact that she will lose $50 to me. |

tonya's daily anti-obama article is also the reason why people who are posting on here are gloating every time obama breaks hilldawg off. |

Yes, FK, the sky was so clear here that I got good a view. I always make it a point to check out any phenomenon that occurs in the sky. It puts me in touch with the universe as I try to become one with it by opening myself up and inhaling the atmosphere. OMHHHHHHHHHHHH |

Dobes, you have put your finger on the dissention about the presidential campaign as it unfolded on this board. It became a personal thing as some posters became closely identified with their candidates. Matters gradually evolved into it being a case where how one person felt about the person who backed a rival candidate, superceded about how they felt about the actual candidate. I always took up for Hillary because, to me, her critics just seemed to hate her on GP, never bothering to see the good things she was advocating. As for Obama, to me, it got to the place where his pep team transformed him from a person into an abstract word: "change". Maybe if I rub my lottery numbers on a picture of Obama they will become winners. Anyhow, I just hope that a Democrat will beat John McCain.

"tonya's daily anti-obama article is also the reason why people who are posting on here are gloating every time obama breaks hilldawg off." This is very true. To be honest, I really don't like or dislike Hillary. I look at her as I do any other politician. Would I vote for her? If she wins and runs against McCain, yes. Same applies for Obama. But as you stated, one person has frantically attempted to turn this board into a "pro Hillary blog" with one serial posting after another of derisive digs and trash talking directed at Obama while posting a relentless stream of Hillary for God articles and personal fanatical testimonies of love for the woman. I have no issues with anyone who is pro Hillary. It is is your right to do so. And if you do not like Obama, that's fine too. But this individual has spammed this board to saturation with Hillary hysteria. Personally I liked John Edwards. Too bad he couldn't get any traction with the voters. And to be honest again, I'll be glad when it's over because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed, but this board used to be an outlet for a variety of subjects and opinions. Not anymore. This Hillary vs. Obama thing has taken on a life of it's own and it appears the only topic of discussion or interest here centers around these two. I don't know if that is a good thing considering the diversity of subjects and dissemination of information we once had here. Every day it was a different topic or discussion. Not anymore. It has become very one dimensional and predictable here now. Has anyone else noticed this?

"But, BTW, NTFS. chrishayden and others were not exactly shrinking violets when it came to polluting the board with their hate campaign against Hillary Clinton." Understood. I'm not defending any of it. But to be honest, I really don't care. My only point was the board has been reduced to a Hillary vs. Obama blog. What was once a source of entertainment and information has descended to a one topic forum -Hillary vs. Obama. I don't mind criticism or praise of either candidate. But when that is the only subject being discussed -well, it's just not as interesting and diverse as before -IMO. Perhaps Troy should create a political sub-board for just Hillary and Obama. Just a suggestion......

Well, NTFS, you seem to be very resourceful. Start some new interesting threads or add some comments to the ones already started.Got any favorites among the Oscar nominees? Read any good books lately? Any comments on abortion or whether a poverty mentality can be inherited? If you want CHANGE, you have to inititate it. |

Very well said, NT as usual.(You definitely deserve a hand for that. Sorry I had to steal yours! HA!) You can always be counted on to bring an interesting and most of the time unbiased point of view to the board, no matter what. |

"My only point was the board has been reduced to a Hillary vs. Obama blog." This is true too. I guess there has been a lot of over the top excitement expressed here because as we all know, this election in unlike any other. That being said, I will take a more subdued approach to voice my enthusiasm for Obama on the boards from this point on. |

"Start some new interesting threads or add some comments to the ones already started.Got any favorites among the Oscar nominees? Read any good books lately? Any comments on abortion or whether a poverty mentality can be inherited?" Oh yeah! Quite a few. As far as books are concerned, I've just made a list of 18 books to be ordered from Edward Hamilton Books. An excellent reduced price outlet for all major publications, both hardback and soft cover. I'm currently in Oakland and I went to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (outstanding art and photography exhibits!) yesterday and lost my mind on some architecture, photography and art books. There was an incredible deal on a Diego Rivera and Freda Kahlo coffee table book package that I couldn't pass up. And if that wasn't enough, I had to order this incredible art book by Aaron Douglas, a fantastic Harlem Renaissance artist. I'm a sick man!! What can I say?! Ha! Ha! ha! "If you want CHANGE, you have to inititate it." Point well taken. I shall do just that. Hopefully we can bring some diversity back to the forum. "I maintain that Tonya was the PRIMARY instigator of MOST of the vitriol." True....... "But I too would prefer we discuss something OTHER than Obama v. Clinton." Good. Let's do just that. "This is true too. I guess there has been a lot of over the top excitement expressed here because as we all know, this election in unlike any other." You are so right A_womon. We are all witnessing history in the making! The first time in American history where a "black man and a woman" are making a serious bid for the White House. A friend and I had a very engaged conversation about this very fact this evening. "That being said, I will take a more subdued approach to voice my enthusiasm for Obama on the boards from this point on." No need to. As I stated before, I have no issues with anyone rooting for their favorite candidate. But again, Tonya had taken it to another level. Much to her own credit, she hijacked this board and made it her personal "love Hillary-hate Obama" blog. No problems with expressing kudos for our favorite candidate. But let's not let Hillary vs. Obama occupy 95% of the posts here.
