Obama has won more states than Hillary has won. And his wins have been considerably more convincing (most of them as great as +2:1) than hers. So even though they might end up nearly even by the time of the convention or even if Hillary is slightly ahead in delegates, Obama likely still would be the stronger nominee, one who has a better chance of winning states that Hillary don't have a snowball chance in hell of winning in November. Unless there's a huge change somewhere that gives either Hillary or Barack some great advantage or disadvantage, the Democratic convention is going to be one hell of a showdown! |

Did you hear Michigan (the state that was not supposed to count) is going to award their delegates to Senator Clinton? They will also award the "uncommited" delegates to whom ever they choose to support. I think once supporters of Senator Obama gets wind of this, they'll go ballistic.

He's only winning caucus states because there's no secret ballots and white folks are afraid to look racist in front of their neighbors. He won a couple primaries in states where Blks are in the majority because every Black person and their momma voted for him. Dude hasn't shown he can win on something other than white guilt and race. And his time has run out...so I’ma start calling him quota boy.

Robynmarie, Yeah. It's politically bias crap like that in the electoral process that got Bush elected in 2000 (Florida) and 2004 (Ohio). And WTF is going to happen when the delegate count is near even but Obama has won +30 states? As things are flowing now, if Hillary wins the nomination there is going to buyer's remorse something awful. |

Why the heck did Senator Obama (and others) take their names off of the ballot in Michigan anyway? Bad move... When Hillary brags about her experience, what she really means is she knows much better than Senator Obama how to game the system. But ask yourself the question: if Senator Obama had won the majority of delegates, would he want Michigan and Florida to count? Because truss, if Michigan's delegates count, so will Florida's. And how politically incorrect would it be to try and deny Florida's voters a chance to be heard because the party insiders decided stupidly to punish two populous states? The "he won more states" argument doesn't move me-unless that means he got the most votes. I mean no disrespect, but Alaska and the Virgin Islands??? C'mon. Hopefully Howard Dean will insist the candidates work out some kind of deal before the Dems self destruct... |

Robynmarie, The electoral college is setup to give more weight to the lesser populated states. Basically, one vote in Wyoming is worth MORE than one vote in California. It's fine to assert Hillary having more votes. But if most of them are in your most populous states what you have is repeat of 2000, where Gore has +500,000 more votes from citizens but fewer electoral college votes. Basically, the way things look now, Obama very well can win a few red states and would just as likely carry the Blue ones as Hillary. So, again, if things hold to form, he would be the BETTER candidate. And that will NOT be lost on Democractic conventioners. |

Abm-what you say is true about the electoral college. But the system is what it is. Senator Obama may want to "change the way things are done in Washington" but does he want to change the Constitution (or whatever document mandates the electoral college) too? |

Robynmarie, I don't know what you mean by that. But I'll say I don't think A LOT of what going down in these primaries (and even much of what will happen during the general election) have a dayam thing to do with the Constitution. |

My thought is this campaign is probably not as bad as others. It is just that more people are paying attention to every crack and crevice. The blogsphere has gone absolutely hog wild. |

Why the heck did Senator Obama (and others) take their names off of the ballot in Michigan anyway? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22054151/ Democratic leaders voted Saturday to strip Michigan of all its delegates to the national convention next year as punishment for scheduling an early presidential primary in violation of party rules. Michigan, with 156 delegates, has scheduled a Jan. 15 primary. Democratic Party rules prohibit states other than Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina from holding nominating contests before Feb. 5. Florida was hit with a similar penalty in August for scheduling a Jan. 29 primary. ...All the major Democratic candidates have already agreed not to campaign in either Michigan or Florida because the states violated party rules. And in Michigan, most of the major candidates won't even be on the ballot. Democratic candidates John Edwards, Barack Obama, Bill Richardson and Joe Biden have withdrawn their names from the ballot to satisfy Iowa and New Hampshire, which were unhappy Michigan was challenging their leadoff status on the primary calendar. That leaves Hillary Rodham Clinton, Dennis Kucinich, Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel and "uncommitted," as the choices on the Democratic ballot in Michigan. And apparently "uncommitted" was a popular candidate in Michigan. LOL |

With his track record, Obama would get slaughtered in a general election. He hasn't been able to gain the white women vote (white women are as bitter as Blks about the tactics in this campaign btw). Nor has he proven that he can take the Hispanic vote, the Asian vote, the staunchly Democratic "blue" vote, or the senior vote. He is in no way the better candidate. It doesn't matter that you can get a lot of red states if you can't get many blue states and you're suppose to be a democrat.

In a general election democrats will likely hold their nose if they have to and vote for Hillary. Hillary proved that. She won in all areas in the country and she's been able to attract every demographic. Even though Blacks are voting overwhelmingly for Obama, she still gets close to 20% of the Black vote. She's proven that she can win Democrats of all stripes and that she's better positioned to win a general election. She's has a MUCH MORE diverse electorate than Obama. And she won in all areas of the country. Barack hasn't.

She's even creeping into his backyard. She won the youth vote in Massachusetts and California, the two most populated states in the country for young people.
