Hello
I've witnessed a plethora of discussions in Thumper's Corner and this week ranks with the best.
Gosh, it would be impossible to do justice to all the debates and laughs. The conversations went from books to sex to politics to music to to booties, back to books, then to white women and prop 8.
I discovered a few thangs. Well, it appears others made a few discoveries as well.
Don Cornelius awoke and found out he was married to a nasty white women.
Chris Hayden looked down at his feet and realized he was a white man.
Obama decided to have some fun and dropped his moniker on us ...Kandi_Gurl.
Kitty found out that Crystal was hot and heavy for her man. Crystal tried to disguise it by talking about books *LOL*.
Zane came out. Yep, we found out that she knows a little something other than the Freaky Deaky; She knows how to laugh.
Disciple got out of bed and ran to the backyard to dig up his money. The Dow dropped below 8000.
Thumper got out of bed to the sounds of Aretha Franklin. Cynique ran by and slapped him. She said, negro if you don't turn that music down I'll slap you again! Thump said ......whatever.
Jackie and Brown Robyn realized they were in love and are catching a flight to Boston so they can get married.
The White House butler tried to tell er'body he wasn't just cooking eggs. His momma was a voodoo lady.
On a sad note, Yvette has put down Prince. I know, it was once unthinkable but the winner of American Idol has taken her heart. It happened by accident. See, she changed her music selections at work to impress her white co-workers. Yep, it got good to her. Hey, it's been said once you go black you can't .... wait a minute! "HEY YVETTE" COME BACK, LETS TALK!
Li-Li turned on the TV and found herself on the 10 most wanted list. She said if she couldn't sell them damn cars she might as well steal them. It's a better commission.
ABM jumped out of bed and fell to his knees and thanked God for black women; lesbians and all. As long as they had.....
Ntsf and Troy agreed to disagree--I think.
Emanuel found out it's going to be the coldest winter ever.
A_womon realized she wasn't a man and decided aganist fighting with Troy  .
Speaking of Troy, he has seen the light. He said, if he has to wear one more pair of those tight swim trunks, it will be too soon. No more sand in the crack for him. He said he loved the people but if they wanted to party with him, they would have to come home; come to Harlem.
What a week! |

No, no, no, Carey. Prince is still The Man. I even have my own, AALBC-discounted copy of "21 Nights/Indigo Nights" on my coffee table to prove it. (Whathadhapenedwas, I had gotten it as a gift for someone, but then, well...you know! LOL)
Each of these artists (Prince and EJ) represents a different period in my life. They stand alone in that I am still a fan, and their music, IMO, has stood the test of time. (Can't claim the same thing for, say, The Monkeys or The Partridge Family--two other musical blasts from my past. ) |

Brown Robyn, I love the english language. There are some many interchangable words. Some words are even spelled the same yet can be said and used in a different way. You asked if I was dumping you. Well, the name of the game is cope and hold NOT cope and blow. I'm trying to keep you as a friend, not dump you. One day Jackie and you may decide to run off to love's candyland. I may drop a tear but yet stay grateful. Grateful that I've had the oppurtunity to call you may friend. Yes, I will be hurt but I'll wipe my tears and say, "go on girl with your fine self, do what you gotta do", just don't forget about Ol'Carey .

It's pretty good, actually. Sort of in an Amiri Baraka/Rap Brown/Ishmael Reed Black Voices/New Worlds kind of vamp.
