I have those same 2 books on my list, Crystal. In fact, I started "Blood Colony" but didn't get far because I haven't made up my mind as to whether vampire chronicles are "scary" or just gorey. "Don''t Ever Tell" is the current selection of my book club. |

I wouldn't have thought Due's vampire tale would be gory - we'll see. If you want a non-gory vampire story try Octavia Butler's Fledging. It's more mystery than horror to me but still has the feasting aspect. Have you read Massey's The Other Brother? It's creepy. |

Welll, I just assumed that the vampires would be sucking blood; maybe not. I haven't started "The Other Brother" yet. |

My favorite Due is still, "My Soul to Keep". Has anybody ever seen her in person? She is almost the exact opposite of what you'd expect from a horror writer. Warm. Friendly. Well dressed. |
