Last night, I chillin’ with my wife and one of her friends in Jay Z’s 40-40 club in New York City. The 40-40 club is a nice spot. I guess 50% of the square footage is dedicated to VIP rooms of various sizes. Everyone was courteous and the service was good.
My only complaint was when I got the bill for 2 vodka tonics, 2 mojitos, and 1 coke -- $55 bucks. To make matters worse they would not take my Amex card, plus they required me to show my ID (again) to use my mastercard. But the most irritating, ghetto move, was putting the tip on the bill. It was like they don’t expect the customer to provide a legitimate credit card or leave a decent tip…
Any who… this dude walks over and asks if I’m Troy Johnson. It was kinda dark, but I could tell I did not know this brother. He introduced himself, using his “government” as if I should know who he was. Now I’m bad with names, so that did not throw me, but I’m good with faces and I definitely did not recognize his.
I invited him to sit down, introduced him to my wife and her friend, trippin’ ‘cause I still did not know who homeboys was. He seemed friendly enough and I figured I could figure out where I knew this brother from eventually...
I quickly discovered it was Yukio! I was like “Man, how did you know it was me?” Yukio said, he recognized me from my pictures on the web site.
So despite paying $65 bucks for a coke and a few drinks of beers; the 40-40 club was the right place to be on that particular night.

No I was not surprise by how he looked I have no preconceived notions.
He is solidly built, like me, a tad bit taller and more than a tad bit younger.
He says he misses the board and is just very busy.

LOL! Troy, you beat me to the punch! It was a pleasure to meet you too, and 40-40 is expensive as hell! A p&j sandwich was $8, as was french fries. I must admit, however, that the cuban sandwich was on point!
I do miss the board very so much, and will be back sometime this summer more frequently, but I doubt if as much as in the past.
Brownbeauty123, I am just busy with life; i'm just trying to get my life in order, career, vocation, etc . . .

Yukio, you know I had to report the event. I rarely get to meet one of my favorite posters.
It took me a few years to meet Thumper for the first time. I'm still looking forward to meeting Cynique, Chris, ABM, et. al.

Troy, You continually amaze me. You in Jay Z's club! I always thought that for enjoyment, you and the family might pop up some jiffy pop and play Monopoly 'til some crazy hour--say, 8:30 or 9:00 pm.
Then again you ARE in New York City. You can't help but be a playa.
About the prices--you are in New York City. Plus that setting them that high keeps out the riff raff. |

(I haven't been invited to a party since--I don't know, 1969 or thereabouts. But I go all the time--I just CRASH! And I'm gonna do the same thing to your lame little soiree--you'll need some color and excitement.
This can lead to some embarassing scenes.
I remember one time me and my posse crashed this basement New Year's Eve party. As we stood in the middle of the dance flo' we figured something just wasn't right.
One of us reached up, turned on the cieling light. We gazed into the terrified faces of a bunch of 12 an 13 year olds.
We thanked them for a wonderful evening, excused ourselves and left.
Cynique you will not get off so easily.
