It's very doubtful. I'm about 1/3 of the way done on a new novel. Rough draft should be done by January. I plan on shopping it for at least a year before deciding if I should get it published non-traditionally. So the earliest would be a 2009 release for me, since traditional publishers usually take that long to publish new manuscripts.

Isn't there a new Ralph Ellison book coming out next year? I'm definitely looking forward to that one.

On this page http://books.aalbc.com you will find a series of links which show Black books coming out each month for the next 10 months. The list currently goes out to September 2008.

I just got a book in for review by ihsan bracy called paths of sancutary. it looks very interesting it is due to pub Fed 25 2008.

It uses literary techniques and a style that I'm sure you will find quite interesting. It is described by the publisher as having a style simmilar to Jean Toomer's.

I wish I had more time to talk about the books I'm getting...

I just remembered, "After the Dance" by Lori Johnson comes out in the spring. She has a nice little blog I frequent often at http://loridjohnson.blogspot.com . I'm looking forward to her debut novel.
