I'll be interviewing and video taping an interview with Karrine Steffans (http://aalbc.com/reviews/karrine_steffans.htm), yes Bill Maher's ex, “Superhead”. If you folks have some specific questions, please post them. I will review what is posted here as a source of questions for Ms. Steffans. If everything goes as planned the resulting video will be posted here in a week or less. Peace, Troy |

Hummmmm. Ask her if 10 years from now when she looks back on her life, does she think she will have any regrets. |

Cynique, perhaps she should have turned her conquests into artistic works, like Cynthia "Plaster Caster" Albritton. (http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/1122292/20000720/hendrix_jimi.jhtml) She is now in her 50s and appears to have no regrets--and she got a SoHo gallery showing out of her exploits! |

Yep there are a lot of notorious people who have no regrets about the lives they've led. I just thought that asking Ms. Steffans that question might produce an interesting answer, especially if the question is framed in the context of calling her an over the hill cast aside. Maybe Troy could ask her what brand of condoms she found to be the least intrusive. LOL |

Thanks for the input. The interview is scheduled for Wednesday Cynique, for some reason I don't think Karrine's reputation will hurt her very much. Shoot OJ decapitated a couple of people and women continued to through themselves at him... I also don't think she be over the hill in 10 years. I feel bad for her son. No boy wants the world to know his mom slept with everyone -- despite the material wealth that results. A_woman, "Superhead" is her money maker. I'm sure Maybe if she was called "toothy head" it may be a problem... E, I'll ask a variation of your question. A_woman I'll as variation of your second question. A_woman do you think men, in general, would marry a woman only to discard her for someone he feels is better in bed? |

Troy, Thanks! ABSOLUTELY, some men are on the hunt for perfect, toe curling sex, and have and will leave women/wives for what they think is better sex. But they need to learn what most real women know: Really great sex comes from real love and commitment. Anything short of this is just a good feeling that wears off very quickly! In all fairness though, I should add that this condition is not exclusive to men! Women have left good relationships in pursuit of a man who can put it down in the bedroom as well. I didn't know she had kids. So my next question is: How do you think your lifestyle and reputation has impacted your son and influenced his thinking about women? |

Keep in mind that it's not so much the questions as it is the answers. To keep the interview fresh and interesting, ask some off beat questions that will catch Karrine off guard and elicit a spontaneous reaction from her. |

Ask her if she would advise other young men and women to get involved in the adult entertainment industry. Ask her if she thinks blacks are well represented at all levels in the industry. Ask her how a Black person could make money in the adult entertainment industry. |

I heard Barry Sonnenfeld on NPR's Fresh Air this afternoon speaking about how he broke into the Adult Entertainment Industry filming nine films in nine days. He stated that if viewers could smell an Adult Entertainment set they wouldn't care for the movie. So does it get very smelly on these sets? And how do you deal with that? |

Thanks everyone this is helpful. I read through the book and it is interesting. Honestly I have very mixed emotions about it. I guess because in some ways it really showcases the worst in people. Here is an example. Boxer Antonio Tarver steps to Karrine they hook up essentially boy friend and girl friend. She expressed apprehension about dealing with a pro athlete. She almost seemed…vulnerable. He was nice and they seemed to have a good time. Out of the blue he calls her to say he is getting married! A few weeks later they were both at the same party Karrine witnessed Antonio and his wife kissing. Karine serves up this gem in reaction: “And as Antonio and his wife kissed I recalled his face and lips between my legs, licking and sucking my clit and asshole. I wondered how I tasted to her.” Part of me was like damn that is just a mean and hateful thing to put in a book. Then another part of me is like good. Karrine should be pissed and homeboy got what he deserved. Yet another part is like wow, does Antonio’s wife, future children, friends and relatives deserve the shame and embarrassment of reading about Antonio’s transgressions in what will probably be a NY Times bestselling book?

I think that's a stupid thing to say. Someone could ask her how Beyonce's snatch tasted when she was blowing Jay Z. Right? It's a silly statement that shows immaturity and a lack of self-respect. |

E, the statement, in my mind, shows more anger than stupidity. It was not meant to be taken literarily it was just a very mean and spiteful thing said out of anger. Cynique, oh yeah, those types of lines definitely sell books. It is very likely this book will debut as a NY Times Bestseller. I just finished the interview with Karrine: Karrine is bright, articulate and quite personable, engaging even. I could have asked her a ton of questions about all of the people she has dealt/slept with, but I tried to focus more on her. I’m sure there were no revelations made in the interview but I hope that in the few minutes I spoke with her people see her super head hype. Don’t get it twisted, I’m not with that putting everybody’s business on the street thing, but I have to admit my impression of her has changed somewhat… One would think a benefit of making folks dirt public, is that people would behave better; under the increased risk of getting caught. However, it seems like our culture has become so perverse that people want the notoriety even if it because of doing something bad. I read somewhere when some people who slew Karrine were actually disappointed not to be captured in the pages of her book. I’m still learning how to use this Nero video editing software but I hope to have Karrine’s interview posted by this weekend along with several other I’ve done recently including Eric Jerome Dickey.

A_womon "dazzled by "Superhead"." is a bit of an exaggeration. However, I was nice to her, as I would have been with anyone else who craved out an hour, out of a very busy schedule, to spend with me. See the thing is she did not have to do the interview. She had little to gain from it. She'd already done Wendy Williams, Toure. Plus Kam did a phone interview earlier in the day, so she was already going to be on the site. So I was greatful to get a one on one interview. So no, the question "how long did it take for her to acquire such a good skill in giving head?" Did not come forth from my lips. My name is not Howard Stern and my mom raised me better. But the answer is obvious -- Practice! That said your posts here did influence my questions I just couched them differently. As far as the "...I wondered how I tasted to her.” line. I never said Head coined the phrase. I just thought it reflected her anger and would contribute to selling more books. Now I looked at the raw video. I looked a little disheveled. There was a reason for that, but that is another post:

Moonsigns, interestingly enough, the interview was not awkward at all.. I kept an open mind; spoke and treated her like I would anyone else. In reality Karrine is not just some ordinary skank off the street. I've interviewed college educated people who were less prepared, engaged, articulate... While I would not want Karrine’s life for my daughters, I feel less sorry for her now than I did before I met her. See Karrine is not like you or I. What might bother us does not bother her. Where you or I might feel shame or embarrassment, she does not. She has completely rationalized her behavior and is more comfortable with herself than many women... If anything, her attitude is reinforced and rewarded by our culture. She managed to attract and date a rich and famous white guy (something most white woman can’t do), she is a NY Times best selling author, scores of Black celebrities lust after her and she is financially successful in her own right. Moonsigns don’t waste your pity on Karrine.

I caught her on the Wendy Williams Show on the radio the other day. She said she's engaged to marry Darius McCrary (sp?) (Eddie Winslow) on December 31st of this year. She makes more money than he does, and he was at home watching HER son at that very moment; that she's found true love and he loves and accepts her for her. I was shocked by how articulate she was. I was also shocked that she made no apologies for the life she's led. In a nutshell, homegirl said she did what she did, knew what she was doing, made lots of money and made a name for herself along the way, and she has no regrets. She sounded quite proud of her "accomplishments". Of course y'all know, Wendy Williams refused to call Karrine by her name. She repeatedly referred to her - on air, no less - as "Superhead".

Troy, I had a chance to watch the video, and it's more than obvious that you weren't phased by her presence. Like Cynique wrote in another thread, you're a great listener. I think you held your own and the conversation was fluid. In regards to her responses during the interview, I think she comes across as a complete bullshyter. She contradicted herself often. I think she tells people, especially men, what she thinks they want to hear. Her nonverbal communication with you, especially the way she was looking into your eyes and then down at your hands, was incredibly strong. Could you see/feel that? If so, how did that make you feel during the interview? I agree with you, and it's totally obvious, she has completely rationalized her behavior. However, I think she does so in order to keep from going mad. As much as she focused on how differently men and women are "wired", and how she won't "be home" if her man "chooses" to go out with other women and to clubs, I find it hard to believe she is so disconnected to her body/soul when it comes to sex. I think she's confident with her ability to sexually attract men but not with her womanhood. With all due respect, to many men, because of their "wiring", I think it's hard for them to distinguish the two. For this reason, I can easily understand why you feel this way about her. I find it hard to believe she is "comfortable" with herself, especially after her comments revealed how hurt she was when seeing that man with his wife. He was calling her four months after his marriage to another woman because he only wanted a "piece of a$$". If not, he would have cared enough to make her his wife. She knows it, too. As an adult, I have always viewed our culture's value system as highly dysfunctional and rather sick. And her being rewarded for being "used" is really full-circle. So, I still feel sorry for her that she isn't strong enough to overcome the misinformation our culture sends women regarding their femininity/womahood. However, it's not a lingering pity -- I care much more about more pressing issues. Because, in my opinion, regardless if she attracts and dates rich men, people lust after her, is a best selling author (does she really deserve that title?! - it's so questionable/debatable!), and she is financially succesful in her own right, she is still a common whore. Women who exploit themselves, especially to become wealthy, and especially in America, don't impress me. If you ever interview her again, please ask her how she will react, when one day -- because it will happen, her son comes home asking her why the boys at school are calling his mom "Superhead". We'll see how "real" she keeps it. All in all, thanks for sharing. Very interesting!

Urban, I did not pick up on the body language. I will take another look to see if I pick up on what you are describing. I think I’m pretty good with the non-verbal queues with the people I’m speaking with… Yes, pray for “heads” son, but again I would not worry too much. In this industry you met people who have gone through so much worst. For example author Treasure Blue (http://authors.aalbc.com/treasure_blue.htm) relates how he witnessed his mom being gang raped by neighborhood guy – and had to deal with people talking and making fun of him about that. Karrine’s son will be fine. A_woman I hear you but Steffan’s book is now 2 weeks on the NY Times bestsellers list. I plan to do my bestsellers list this weekend and would not be surprised to see it as number #1. It seems a lot of people are riveted….
