More congrats for KOLA BOOF
She's the first "Black American"
writer to win Sweden's
"Swedish Feminist World Author's
Pen/Woman to Woman Award 2007"....
which is presented by the SWEDISH FEMINIST
MOTHER'S ASSEMBLY OF STOCKHOLM, which is
a political group comprised of female writers.

Kola won for her essay "I Am My Own
Daughter", (Non-fiction).
The award medallion is really SPECTACULAR!!!
and will be presented to Kola in September
during her visit to New York City. (She's at
the Schomburg Center on Sept. 16th)
The Swedish organization offered to fly her
to Stockholm for their women's festival in
October, but Kola Boof is still on the "Suspected
Terrorists" list and can't leave the country
under the Patriot Act.

Note: Africans have won this pen and so have
White Americans, but Kola is the first writer
from America with "black skin" to win.
