A couple of folks who know how I feel about Eric Jerome Dickey told me to give Sleeping With Strangers a try. “He has a real story this time. Sort of like Drive Me Crazy” they say. Ok, I’m taking a break from my 14th century Scotland book series, see Dickey’s book in the library and decide to give it a try. I’m reading along, it’s ok – has some of the usual things I don’t like about his writing, but I’m interested in finding out what happens. Then, I get to the end of the book, knowing there’s a sequel to be published in a few months and I usually like anticipation of this sort but . . . damn man, what the hell is that? I don't mind a cliffhanger but this is like a bad soap opera. Remember Dallas?
I don’t want to be a spoiler [too late?] so I won’t go into details but I don’t like this and I won’t be reading the sequel. I don’t care anymore.
So maybe someone will pick it up to see what all this fuss is about and that’s ok with me because I don’t mind a brother making legit money. But he ain’t getting mine.
Oh Well. Good news is I see Dark Dreams III is out.
