To All St. Louis Authors, The St. Louis Association of Authors of Color (SLAAOC) is scheduled to open up for general membership in March, 2005. Currently, we are looking for a couple of additional members with diverse writing backgrounds to assist in steering the association by heading or participating on different committees. If you are interested or would like to receive a brochure on SLAAOC, please send questions or your address to: info@archlandbooks.com. The St. Louis Association of Authors of Color is organizing for published (or soon to be published) poets and authors to share area and national media contacts, to cross-promote, to conduct joint selling events and share in advertising and promotion, to share booth costs in local and national conferences and events, and much more. SLAAOC members will be encouraged to help other aspiring authors through annual free-to-the-public SLAAOC writing and publishing seminars & workshops. SLAAOC members will also be encouraged to participate in giving back to the St. Louis community through volunteering for literacy and tutoring programs that will be geared toward children in the St. Louis Public School system.
