From Eric Anderson Board Chair Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. I'm writing to let you know that the Bill T.Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will have its New York premiere of "Blind Date" at Lincoln Center Festival from July 18-20. As usual, I'm hoping we sell out - and the house is big. I hope you might consider attending, and please tell your friends - please feel free to forward this. The tickets aren't cheap (not set by us), but are well worth it. If you are as frustrated with the political landscape in this country as I am, I think you would particularly enjoy this show. I believe that this is one of the most significant works of our time, created by one of our greatest living artists. Bill has constructed a beautiful piece that asks some very important questions. You can see a few clips of the show on the Lincoln Center Festival site. Here is the info. and a blurb from Lincoln Center: Blind Date July 18-20, 2006 LaGuardia Concert Hall at 8:00pm http://www.lincolncenter.org/ Ticket prices: $50 What does it mean to be patriotic? Whom does patriotism serve? In the hands of choreographer Bill T. Jones, dance becomes an extraordinary tool for probing life's big questions. Blind Date asks hard, sensitive and often subtle questions about honor, sacrifice, duty and loyalty in a world threatened by nationalistic fervor and spiritual righteousness. Last seen in Festival 2000, the company continues to be one of the most intriguing in the world of contemporary dance. With a constantly shifting set, mesmerizing video imagery and music ranging from Bach to Otis Redding, Blind Date is a highly expressive multimedia work. In this provocative "collision of feelings" (The Washington Post), opposing forces clash with one another as the young, intense and daring dancers create a tantalizing visual and theatrical landscape. If you are available & interested please do not hesitate to organize tickets either through the Company's very able Katie Friis - copied above - or directly through the Lincoln Center box office. Thanks for your consideration. Eric Anderson Board Chair Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. 27 West 120th Street, #1 New York, NY 10027 www.billtjones.org
