Here is the cover of the upcoming issue of Ebony Magazine Michael Jackson. Story: Michael Jackson will appear on the cover of EBONY Magazine to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his THRILLER Album, which has broken sales records globally since its realease. Here is MJ 2007. ***On a side note, the cover does look decent. |

Ebony is now more like Essence than Essence is. Ebony, like Essence, can make anyone look decent, great even, for their cover. That said what is the purpose of using a photgraph of Michael that looks nothing like him? Who are they trying to fool, and why? I bet if Ebony used the second picture for the cover they would have sold more copies.

Did his hair fall out? For the past several years he's been wearing nothing but wigs. |

Also, Troy, the strangest thing is that Essence is also more like Ebony than Ebony is.... |

Ebony and Essence? A pox on both their houses. Black Enterprise is the best magazine around geared towards African Americans. www.blackenterprise.com |

This freak makes me puke. I don't read Ebony any more anyway even when I can read it free. When they started taking all the white advertising money that was the end of them Ahhhh success is a two edged sword!

Robynmarie, I'd have to agree with you regarding BE. The magazine is an inspiration. Schakspir interesting comment about Essence. I'd not considered that. Perhaps the two are morphing into the same publication. Essence has a good book section and I like Patrick's Picks. They should get out a bit more more and cover some book events... Jet is consistently good, covering a variety of stories. I usually read or at least look at every page. |

Essence and Ebony are both mainstream. They have carved a niche for themselves in the market and their circulation proves that they have successfuly cornered a certain demographic. They give the black masses what they want. Why are they being stigmatized for this? |

Just in case anyone thought I was stigmatizing Ebony and Essence – I’m am not. I maintain a subscription to both and have done so for years. Don't ask me why -- just my way of supporting the community I guess. But Essence, I recall now is owned by Time, Inc so... maybe that explains why Johnson Publishing is doing a better job relative to Essence. I do however think both mags were better years ago, but I've aged out or am the wrong sex the magazines' target audience.... Either way they both have a whole new crop of readers to satiate with the different versions of how to get a good man, how to keep a good man, how to get rid of a bad man, and how to manage your finances...

Essence is very East Coast biased. They rarely have any real news stories that connect us globally and that irritates. And, for some reason they think all black women are interested in are hairstyles, makeup, and men on the downlow.

No ebony, just ivory: Jacko appears whiter than white on magazine cover 06.11.07 Add your view He once famously sang 'It don't matter if you're black or white' but clearly it does to Michael Jackson who appeared on the cover of a US magazine for black Americans - looking whiter than ever. The troubled singer unveiled his startlingly pale new look on the cover of Ebony magazine in a heavily airbrushed photograph. Scroll down for more... Fading star: Michael Jackson on the latest cover of Ebony magazine Jacko wears a light-coloured suit which complements his creamy complexion, and his once curly afro hair is bone straight, leaving no trace of the handsome youth who became a superstar along with his brothers in group The Jackson Five. In another picture, he appears dressed in a top hat and tails, a nod to one of his dance idols, Fred Astaire. Scroll down for more... Fancy dress: the former King of Pop is celebrating 25 years since the release of Thriller Despite ongoing rumours that he has bleached his skin, Jackson has regularly insisted that his changing colour is not intentional. He has maintained that his light skin was the result of vitiligo, a rare disease that discolours the face and body. Jackson gave his first interview for ten years to the magazine to celebrate 25 years of his seminal Thriller album. Changing face: Michael Jackson during his 70s heyday, then in 1983, and 2004

well, ill just say this much- no human is above forgiveness. mj obviously has serious issues with his identity. but mj is worth of ALL our respect, simply based on his contributions to WORLD HISTORY. mj is a TRUE legend. sure he did some damage to his appearence (due to a desire to be a white person imo). but, he IS our brother. tearing him down after his many problems does ZERO. michael jackson is anothe one of our people with problems (like ALL of us). he can ALWAYS come "home". if we hope (expect) to be "forgive" for our mistakes, then we MUST forgive (accept) michael jackson for his. PERIOD. |

I've given up a long time ago. It's funny how black celebs want to come HOME once "THEY" don't want to have nothing to do with them anymore. And is it me or do that look like a lacefront in the second pic? |

"mj obviously has serious issues with his identity." This is so true. The man has some very serious deep rooted problems. No doubt. It's really sad to see how he has destroyed his exterior body because of a twisted fantasy of looking like something he does not have the natural genetics for. But you are correct, he was an incredible artist. Second to none as a performer and a bona fide megastar. But look at him now. How tragic.
