Some callers on Teddy Roosevelt at the White House--ambassadors, office seekers, politicians--were puzzled and taken aback by his brash manner and violent outbursts and wild enthusiasms
"You have to realize that the President is about six," some of his aides were said to have explained.
When Yvettep surmised that I might be mentally and emotionally about 3 years old I was not insulted.
In fact, I took it as a compliment. How wonderful to have reached almost the sixth decade of life in this world and to have the outlook and vibrancy of a 3 year old--the sense of wonder and curiosity about the world, the excitment about little things. Butterflies. Stars. Clouds.
How gratifying if she saw this in me.
What a better world we might live in if people were more like 3 year olds. If they approached people and things and events as though they were new, without prejudices and preconceptions. Without violence. With love and enthusiasm.
But then, I realized that she was basing this on her experience with three year olds, which, no doubt led her to see them as a bunch of stinking, loud, irritating rug rats with poop in their pants. Useless big headed creatures with no money who just want and want and want.
They were just a meal ticket, a path to fancy cars and furs and fame perhaps, writing papers about these awful creatures--which we all once were and, to some extent to remain.
I lean back and ponder this and a vision of her comes, crouching in her little hut in the forest, stirring a giant pot, cackling, just waiting for some lost orphans to come along so she can call out to them
Nibble nibble little mouse
Whose that nibbling at my house
And I thank God she has moved on to other more rewarding fields, where she can make money and not be surrounded by helpless little creatures making doody and drooling
But this leaves the question unanswered
Is Chris Hayden a 3 yr old in a 57 yr old body? Infantile? Immature? Ill formed? Grotesque?
After much thought, I had to decided I am not.
After all, would a three year old demand that a statuesque sexual partner dress in a leather French maid's uniform that accentuated her bulging breats, and spike heels, and let me tie her up and bend her over and do it to her doggy style while she recited, over and over, Robert Hayden's "Ballad of Remembrance" and Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" blasted in the background.
Let's hope not. |

This observation, alone, totally disqualifies you from being like a three-year-old, Chrishayden. You bear no resemblance to anyone like that.
To me, your fatal flaw is the presumptuousness that makes you such a poor judge of character. What you believe about people what it makes you comfortable to believe; and you justify your attacks on your adversaries by distorting what or who they really are.
I consider you are a 57-year-old who always wants things his way. And that makes you equivalent to a spoiled brat. Your intelligence is swallowed up by petulance.
Your sense of humor and writing skills are your saving graces as you tread down a narrow path of your own making, wearing blinders, resolute in your quest to make the world over in your own image. But this doesn't make you unique.

Chris! What the heck are you talking about??? I thought I was pretty clear about what I meant when I mentioned 3-year-olds in the context of the adults I meet. For your info, most 3 year olds are fairly well toilet trained, at least during their waking hours. They may be loud, but most are loud with an unconstrained joy and delight in the world. They are very trusting--which is why, even after being taught for weeks about "stranger danger" they will offer to help a strange man who seems distraught because he (says he) has lost his puppy.
No, Chris, there are many things I might call you that would be an insult. But being convinced that there is a 3-year-old inside every adult, no matter how onery they may seem, is not IMO an insult.
At any rate I, too, am happy that I have progressed in my career. I have to laugh at your "fancy cars, fame and furs" comment: If only! LOL But I am doing better than when I worked with children for little or no benefits, at a little over $4 an hour.
As for the rest of your comment I truly am speechless and will let others take up that line of discussion. |

Cynique, good point. You have "known" Chris longer than I have. Do you think he is perhaps just pulling folks' legs with all that? Purposefully throwing gasoline on the heap to see if a flame will alight? |

Chrishayden claims he doesn't want to be liked, but I think that's a defense mechanism. As long I've been "acquainted" with him, the tactic of labeling and categorizing people in order to discredit them has been an integral part of his querulous personality. LOL |

For your info, most 3 year olds are fairly well toilet trained, at least during their waking hours. They may be loud, but most are loud with an unconstrained joy and delight in the world.
