"Why Did I Get Married" is number one at the box office and no post. How come? Anyway, here is my review of the movie. I loved the movie so there won't be much hatin'. I can't even diss Malik's lips (I think he got a procedure or something). Anway check it out. And how come there is no dicussion about TP's latest assualt on the film industry? I know what some of you all think of him. Bring it on. From www.parlezentertainment.com Number one at the box office this weekend, pulling in over 21 million dollars, Why Did I Get Married? is a must see. Real talk, this is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. If you did not get a chance to watch, you have to go check this out. You will laugh (definitely laugh), cry (only if you have a heart), get ticked off, and feel inspired all through out this film. Tyler Perry does not disappoint by throwing in whopper size secrets in there but don't expect that this is like his plays ... The rest is at www.parlezentertainment.com, you might have to scroll down. I can't get the exact link.

I mentioned this in an earlier thread where chrishayden was putting the movie down to Li-Li. What was really noteworthy about this feat was that "Why did I Get Married" earned twice as much as 3 other opening movies starring academy award winners George Clooney, and Cate Blanchard, and academy award nominee, Joachim Phoenix. |

Okay so, I took the time to listen to the interview and half way through her tired tiraid, I was through. IMO, she missed the whole darn point. On one hand I do understand what she is saying but on the other, she is talking out her arse for the sake of making a point that is besides the point. Besides that TP has defended big sisters on more than one occaision and has probably employed more big sisters than most out there. I am not saying he is God's gift but he is doing more than most for Black Film. Some of the actors that have been in the game for a while haven't accomplished nearly as much. I'm just saying ... |

From another discussion page: Tyler Perry On Oprah he implied he was straight. But he did that very artfully, and didn't actually address the sexuality issue, which was clearly on the audience's mind. All of them wondered, "is he or isn't he" and when he said he was "lookin to get married", the entire audience breathed a sigh of relief, swooned--and then got a little giddy. As if this was all just too good to be true---good looking guy who GETS Black women! My suspicion is that Tyler Perry KNOWS that to keep his Christian Black female audience coming in droves, he has got to keep that fantasy going. When the jig is finally up, though, will Oprah call him om the carpet like she did James Frey? THAT I would pay to see.... --Anonymous Permalink Wednesday, February 22, 2006 09:50 PM

Okay...don't me started on movies. You know I've had some heated discussions with ol'thump about them. Anyway..my opinion........THE MOVIE STUNK! It was an embarrassing piece of crap. Chris "drop the ball" rock, had NOOOOO business trying to direct himself. Besides ol'girl had too much booty to be even thinking about let twisted lips Chris Drop get even a sniff of her. now me and ol'girl could make somebody jealous *LOL*......Goooood Daaamn. Let me stop,Am about to get LAMBD-Boldish up in here *smile*. For real though, the movie was a.....ahhhh... waste of time....lets talk about gettin' real. I can't wait to see AMERICAN GANSTER...now we can talk after that....I KNOW Densel is going to get down......with a poor script that man can make it work. I still hate the fact that he won an Oscar for being a F'Up Cop...come on....why......WHY couldn't they have given it to hinm for Huricane or Malcolm X.....not a ...dirty COP! Again let me stop, I can get ugly about this. Carey Carey |

Psst, Carey. C'mere. We're talking about Tyler Perry's just-released box office hit, "Why Did I Get Married", not Chris Rock's flop "I Think I Love My Wife". |

LOL, Carey, I know that wasn't ment for comedic relief but that was too funny. I hated Chris' movie too. I appreciated the intention but it was horribly done. Anyway, TP was number 2 this week. Good for him. |
