The list goes on and on and on. The Republicans take great pride and arrogance in playing the "moral card", yet their loyal self righteous party members are consistently making excursions across the line of decency and criminality. Never ceases to amaze me. Those who stridently claim to be the most moral, are really not. Their hypocrisy documents itself every day. Tsk...tsk...tsk.......

From the article:
"Craig denied the police account of what occurred and said he erred in pleading guilty."

Either he tapped the guy's foot, in the stall, next to him, and he swiped his hand beneath the divider, or he didn't. And, if he didn't, then why pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct?

He's guilty and there is nothing he can say nor do to get out of it. The police report was very detailed and revealing of what he did. The undercover cop did not know who he was so he cannot use the politically motivated, "the liberals are trying to discredit and frame me", excuse. And he didn't help matters by playing the I'm a US Senator and above reproach card. Didn't work. He pleaded guilty to a much lesser charge, paid a fine and hoped it would go away. It didn't.

The man is your typical hypocritical closet gay. They passionately castigate other gay people while living a tormented life of secret homosexual fantasies and clandestine sexual trysts in public parks and bathrooms. And it never ceases to amaze me how these Republican closets arrogantly strut around with their "neon family values, anti-gay, I'm a good Christian -you're not, we're more moral and sin free than everyone else", badges, while indulging in behavior that is just as (if not more) corrupt than the people they love to bash and rail against. Totally pathetic but SOP for them.

Mzuri, the incredible hypocrisy of being gay/bisexual/curious in secret combined with rabid anti gay stance politically does seem to be so limited to more conservative types. There may have been cases of high profile, anti-gay, closeted Dems, but I cannot think of any right now. Whatever the party, though, it is just wrong. The term "self-hating" is thrown around on here from time to time. This kind of public grilling/private thrilling thing seems to fit that description to a T.

".......the incredible hypocrisy of being gay/bisexual/curious in secret combined with rabid anti gay stance politically does seem to be so limited to more conservative types."

You're comment is on the money Ms. Yvettep. That's the problem. You see, the Republicans represent the triumvirate of 1.) class, 2.) race, and 3.) big business. That is the core of their constituency. The problem I have with them (among many) is their blatant hypocrisy. The Democrats are very open about their inclusiveness. As a party, unlike the Republicans, they do not advocate a hostile and open anti-gay platform.

The Republicans have this bleating mantra of, "we have the higher moral ground while all others are less moral, less pious and less ethical." Yet numerous members of their party elite are continuously caught in immoral and unethical scandals, whether it be homosexual solicitation or money bribery and graft. It's not that the Democrats are not involved in similar or like behavior. They are. But the party itself does not run on a notoriously nefarious propaganda platform of a snickering; "we're better than "them" because we are more moral and have superior traditional Christian family values." That is the banner they (Republicans) pretentiously march under. Yet facts and reality completely contradict this. Just ask Mark Foley (R-FL). E'nuff said........

National Briefing | Washington: Gingrich Acknowledges Cheating On His Wife

Published: March 9, 2007
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged that he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky matter. Mr. Gingrich, a Georgian who is considered a potential Republican presidential candidate, admitted the affair in an interview with James Dobson, leader of the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. ''There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards,'' Mr. Gingrich said. ''There's certainly times when I've fallen short of God's standards.'' The interview is to be broadcast today

A_woman,

You should also include the first REPUBLICAN they attempted to replace Gingrich was himself a hypocrite on matters of morality and sex.

Former GOP Chairman of the House's Appropriations Committee BOB LIVINGSTON had been tabbed to replace Gingrich as Speaker of the House. But he withdrew his candidacy for the gig when pornographer Larry Flynt threatened to publicly release evidence that Bob had been cheating on his wife.

Part of the reason why Livingston was on the shortlist of replacing Gingrich is that he had been an arch-supporter of impeaching Clinton for lying about getting blowjobs and vaginally-flavored cigars from Monica Lewinsky.

Yep. Republican HYPOCRISY knows no bounds.

To be fair, there seems to be no corner on the market party-wise on stupid misdeeds. (For example: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20497980/) But again, for me the kicker is even more than the hypocrisy, but the use of political power to legislate against what one apparently is. An open loving relationship between two consenting same sex adults is not OK. But secret encounters between same sex strangers in public parks and restrooms is? Graphic emails with underage interns is? Oooookay.

Case in point: Remember the former (and late) mayor of Spokane? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_E._West_%28politician%29

Of course, here in the Twin Cities this whole Craig case is getting lots of press, as well as being the butt of radio drive time jokes and skits. The only good thing I can say about the Senator is that, unlike Florida state Rep. Bob Allen, he hasn't tried to claim that big scary Black men made him do it! LOL!

Right ABM. And your whorish ass never cheated on your wife. STFU.

A-Womon - Why would I know what the rest of Gingrich's cronies were up to? I'm not in D.C. nor do I give a care. The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES should be held to a higher standard than the rest of us. But you Dummycrats will probably ask why that's so.

To Cynique - Rudy G will NOT become the president. And even though two wrongs don't make a right, y'all persist in the notion that Republicans are the only ones who have extramarital affairs or that they're the only ones who are hypocrites.

At least the Rupublicans will admonish their own as opposed to the Dummycrats who rally around a liar/crook and act like it's all good.

You should know because it's YOUR party and a person like you who searches the web to verfy and bolster little NOTHING arguments SURELY would do the same to add believability to your defense of your party, right? And you can't yell about dems pointing out the flaws in the Republistank party when you are ALWAYS trying to down the Dems.
HOWEVER I think BOTH parties are very flawed, along with the BROKEN voting system that has become a FARCE! AND BOTH parties are scandalous! But at least the Dems aren't doing everything in their power to make themselves and their buddies FILTHY RICH using a fake war that is costing thousands of young men their lives! Given the lesser of the two evils, I will choose a Dem!

No. Because during that time frame I was just switching parties. It was the Clinton - Looswinsky - Paula Jones - Gennifer Flowers - I-can't-keep-my-dick-in-my-pants and all of Clinton's lies that caused me to change parties. And I wasn't keeping up with the Republicans in D.C., just got sick of the Dummycrats. You would need to be here in Texas and witness the Republicans in action during elections to understand the difference between the two parties, it's like night and day.

As to me and my research - if it's something that interests me then I do that. If I feel I need to dig up something to make a point then I will do that too. But I don't usually sit around and surf the internet for things that aren't productive to my business endeavors. I honestly don't have time.

On my today's calendar is developing one new website (gambling related), adding a few new furniture pieces to my furniture site and my eBay storefront, and promoting one of my celebrity fan sites by joining up with some other celebrity fan sites. And dealing with whatever else comes up. So much work, so little time.

Later.

My point is the hypocrisy of the whole thing--this guy is voting against gays and he is gay himself (he says he isn' gay--just like Bill Clinton says he did not have sex with the women--in other words the sexual things he is doing he says are not sex so he can excuse himself

Just like Elvis said he wasn't a junkie because he didn't use needles

The Republican party

A party of sick people

White supremecist blacks
Mysoginist women
Homophobic gays

Nobody is saying that Republicans are the only ones who go astray, Mzuri. The point is that Republicans tout themselves as the party of family values, while Democrats are less holier-than-thou. And, personally, I am more interested in how a man can run the country, keep us out of war, balance the budget, take care of domestic issues like health care and better schools and disaster management, and who is concerned about the "green", not as in money but as in the environment. That dumb born-again Republican now in office is the antithesis of all these vital issues.

I got the point. The Republicans claim to be the party of family values, and just because there's a few bad apples doesn't change that. We just need to weed them out and keep it moving. And I don't think that all Dummycrats are bad either, they're just dumb :-)

I like messing with y'all because I know that you hate to be referred as that.

BTW, I'm not defending Republican pervs or the current administration, because Lord knows we are in a big old mess that we'll probably never get out of.

And Chris - If you're not a Dummy then what are you?

"....y'all persist in the notion that Republicans are the only ones who have extramarital affairs or that they're the only ones who are hypocrites."

Tsk...tsk...tsk....A predictable Republican defensive knee jerk reaction. Not one person has defended nor denied bad behavior by Democrats. Not one person has attempted to establish an argument that Dems are more moral or less corrupt than Republicans. Not one! What people are tired of and numb from boredom is the never ending hypocritical and phony banner the Republicans march under: "We're the party of higher morality and superior ethical values and better than they are." It's a lie. That is what people object to -the well documented and never ending sickening hypocrisy!

"Why don't you go ask Bill Clinton, with his self-righteous pompous phony lying ass. And while you're at it, ask his forky tongue wife."

And there ya have it! The Sean Hannity rationalization defense for everything wrong that Republicans do: Bill Clinton! It goes like this:

A- The Republicans are constantly claiming moral superiority to Democrats, yet their party leaders are always being caught in immoral scandals.

B- Yeah, right! And Bill Clinton was moral? What about his whorish indiscretions? Gimme a break!

A- Bush has declared a so-called global war on terrorism, yet almost six years later, he still hasn't found Bin Laden.

B - Oh please! Bill Clinton had the opportunity to arrest and put him down and he didn't do it!

A- Bush has appointed party hacks and political loyalists to positions they are unqualified for.

B- Groan....And I guess Bill Clinton was on the money with Janet Reno?

A- My dog died today.

B- I see....Uh huh...And I guess you're going to tell me Bill Clinton had nothing to do with it? Go ahead, defend him.

It goes on and on and on. Every valid and irrefutable error and misdeed by Bush or Republicans is met with: "What about Bill Clinton? I don't see you talking about him! I guess it was ok what he did? Yeah, the double standard is what you people live by". That's it. Without Bill Clinton, they would have no response to anything.

"Ya Dummycrat."

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! That's funny. But I'm going to have to take the wind out of your indignant sails Ms. Droopy. I'm not a Dummycrat or Democrat. Nice try..........

Read the title of the thread, dimwit. Furthermore, I've never heard it verbalized or professed by anyone that Republicans are morally superior. That's your own assessment, your perception and that's your fault. Not mine.

What the Republicans will do that the Democrats won't is call somebody out as opposed to glossing things over.

Look at the Dummycrats. They've been ranting and raving about all the changes that they were going to make when they took over the Senate and the House, and guess what? It's the same old tired crap that it was before. Gas prices are still high, the economy is in a slump, we have this real estate meltdown mess, and all the other garbage and the Democrats haven't improved a thing.

But you prefer to overlook that. You know what's worse than hypocrisy? Turning a blind eye to the obvious.

What ever Limpy. It's hard to keep these double D's from drooping. What's your excuse.

You brought up Foley. WTF does he have to do with anything? It's alright for you to bring up characters from the past but I can't bring up people in the present. Helloooooow. Bill Clinton is running for president thru that straw man wife of his and all you dopes are buying it.

She's going to the Oval Office to lift up the carpets and look for the dirt. Uh huh. It'll be those same stank nasty cum stains up under the rug that were left behind by you know who.

"Read the title of the thread, dimwit."

Oh, I read it. Make no mistake about that. That's what this thread is about: "The hypocrisy of the Republican party. Senator Craig is just example of the very hypocrisy the party represents. Perhaps you should read it again.

"Furthermore, I've never heard it verbalized or professed by anyone that Republicans are morally superior."

Well, you must never get out, read or hear the what the party of race, class and big business advocates. "I've never heard it verbalized or professed by anyone that Republicans are morally superior? You must be very dishonest or very ignorant. Take your pick. I (like everyone else on this board), hears them profess this shameless Jet Eye mind trick all the time! In fact, yesterday, I heard Tom Foley (of all people!!!!) brazenly defend and proclaim the higher moral standards of the GOP. But when the interviewer attempted to question him about his congressional page boy sexual addiction, he visibly bristled and denied it and suggested it was blown out of proportion!! He was just as bad as Larry Craig. It was pathetic. And I'm surprised as a black woman, you would enthusiastically cozy up to a party that would only allow you to escort people to their seats, hand out flyers and water bottles at their national conventions. Tsk....tsk...tsk.....

"That's your own assessment, your perception and that's your fault. Not mine."

My fault? It's my fault that the Republicans are the masters of hypocrisy and contractions? It's my perception that people who claim moral superiority and rail against homosexuals, yet seek sexual encounters with congressional page boys, call girls, call boys, strange men in public rest rooms, are whores for big business lobbyists and get busted for defense contract bribes and under the table kick backs? It's my perception????? Ok.......

"What the Republicans will do that the Democrats won't is call somebody out as opposed to glossing things over."

Ha! That's not true. Have you ever heard your vaunted Republican and conservative political attack dogs like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Michael Reagan, Bill O'Reilly, Larry Elders and Michael Medved passionately defend the failures and indiscretions of the Republican party?? Yeah....Uh huh....I didn't think so. End of subject.......

"Look at the Dummycrats. They've been ranting and raving about all the changes that they were going to make when they took over the Senate and the House, and guess what? It's the same old tired crap that it was before. Gas prices are still high, the economy is in a slump, we have this real estate meltdown mess, and all the other garbage and the Democrats haven't improved a thing."

Ummmmm.....Ok. Good point. I agree. That's why I'm not a Democrat.

"But you prefer to overlook that."

Not hardly. Produce one post where I defended any wrong doing or lack of performance by Democrats. Wanna try again....?

" You know what's worse than hypocrisy?"

Yep. A Republican.

"Turning a blind eye to the obvious."

Wow! On the money my dear! Thank you. That's what this thread is all about. The obvious hypocrisy and double standards of the Republican party. You finally admitted it. No one here is turning a blind eye to their tired ruse of condemning others for the same closet behavior they indulge in. Whew! I was starting to worry about you. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

You probably shouldn't type with your toes. Tom Foley and Mark Foley are two completely different people. And WTF is a Jet Eye mind trick? Is that supposed to be Jedi? Elaborate please.

Thru your own endless rants and dissertations about the hypocrisy of the Republican party, whereby you omit any wrongdoing by the Democrats - it may not be expressed, but it's implied throughout your posts that the Democrats are blameless. Read your own posts.

You are putting words into my mouth (as well as twisting them) with your tired tirades and I'd appreciate it if you just speak for yourself and whoever it is that you represent. As to your allegations of government corruption, again, that's not exclusive to the Republican party. Just more sweeping of the facts underneath the rug in your lame attempt to win an argument.

"You probably shouldn't type with your toes. Tom Foley and Mark Foley are two completely different people."

OK, ok....My bad. I was tyring to restore a laptop a friend dropped off, build a menu bootable DVD and type my post at the same time. Anyway, your correction is noted -Mark Foley is the correct name. Cheeeezzzz.....

"And WTF is a Jet Eye mind trick? Is that supposed to be Jedi? Elaborate please."

Duhhhhh...!!! It's a spoof of Jedi-Mind trick! Oh, you didn't know that? I thought you were a Star Wars buff. Ha! Ha! Ha!

"Thru your own endless rants and dissertations about the hypocrisy of the Republican party, whereby you omit any wrongdoing by the Democrats - it may not be expressed, but it's implied throughout your posts that the Democrats

Excuse me? I never denied any wrong doing by the Dems. If you read my my post, I clearly stated: "It's not that the Democrats are not involved in similar or like behavior. They are".. Perhaps, once again, you should go back and thoroughly read what is written.

"You are putting words into my mouth (as well as twisting them) with your tired tirades and I'd appreciate it if you just speak for yourself and whoever it is that you represent."

Ummmmm....In case you haven't noticed my dear, everyone in this particular thread is on board and in agreement with the well documented hypocrisy of the party you are frantically trying to defend. It's quite unanimous. What? You haven't noticed?

"As to your allegations of government corruption, again, that's not exclusive to the Republican party."

Never suggested that it was. In fact, I agreed with your comment about the failure of the Democrats to get some kind of traction in both the Senate and the House. And not one person who has posted in this thread has suggested the Democrats are morally better or without fault. Are you having problems reading..???????

"Just more sweeping of the facts underneath the rug in your lame attempt to win an argument."

What??? Please take the crack pipe outta your mouth! It's destroying your brain cells!! Where in the hell did you see me or anyone else in this discussion, attempting to sweep any facts under the rug?

It is you who are in denial. And I can't say this any other way so I'm going to just say it, I have never understood why Negroes gleefully volunteer to be porch monkeys for Republican organ grinders. A party that has historically shown nothing but open contempt, cynicism and loathing for black people. Read this: You are like a desperate fish of of water, flopping around in your embarrassing attempt to defend a party that cannot be defended for it's hypocrisy and racism. Hypocrisy that is, once again, well documented with irrefutable facts. Boo Boo, you're attempting to win and agreement you can never, ever, never win. You need to stop -seriously.

Oh yeah, and please, tell, what facts are being swept under the rug here??? Details please.............

NT - It matters not that everyone on this forum is in agreement - don't put words in my mouth. You are attempting to sweep things under the rug when you take my posts, retort with your typical long-winded rants, and insert and insinuate.

For example - I wrote "I've never heard it verbalized or professed by anyone that Republicans are morally superior"

I haven't. The fukcen end. If you'd like to interpret that as meaning that I never get out, am a hermit, live under a rock, up a tree, in denial, I gives an ish. I've never heard any Republican say that they are better than others solely because they are a Republican. That's what you Dummycrats want to believe, so carry on.

You did suggest that it's only the Republicans that are corrupt when you wrote (among other things):

"It's my fault that the Republicans are the masters of hypocrisy and contractions? It's my perception that people who claim moral superiority and rail against homosexuals, yet seek sexual encounters with congressional page boys, call girls, call boys, strange men in public rest rooms, are whores for big business lobbyists and get busted for defense contract bribes and under the table kick backs? It's my perception????? Ok......."

Democrats are equally as guilty and corrupt as everybody else. It's not like there's a bunch of angels running the federal government. And I'm not defending the Republicans, I'm simply not going to let you act as though the Republicans are the evil corrupt political party and the Democrats are all goodness and light. Because that's bullshit.

And BTW, the Republicans freed the slaves.
http://www.gop.com/About/AboutRead.aspx?AboutType=3
How soon you forget. But I understand that you are trapped in that slave mentality where you'll stay with a political party just because your mammy and your pappy were in it. Do you see why I call you dumb? You need to get some freethinking. And I don't mean you personally, I mean you collectively.

Back in the day, most Blacks used to be Republicans because of Lincoln "freeing" the slaves" and these black Republicans were following the slave mentality tradition of the their mammys and pappys. After a while, Blacks started abandoning the party of rich white men and gravitating toward the Democrats who were perceived as the party of the working man. I'm all for being an Independent, but I and a lot of other blacks find nothing redeeming about the Republicans.

Back in the day when? After the Civil War. I doubt if anyone remembers their family being part of the Republican party back in the 1800's. Besides, it's a fact that the Republicans freed the slaves and we would probably still be out working the fields and picking them bails of cotton if it wasn't for that. You should be trying to kiss the Republican's asses. Thankless Dummycrats.

(Time to take another fool to school--

1) My grandparents who died in the 80's,were staunch Republicans until the day they died. It was primarily because of the Freed the Slaves Myth and because they came up in the South under racists who were mostly Democrats at the time--they still didn't switch after the great skedaddle of those savages to the Republican party after they percieved that Democrats were doing too much for blacks--like you--

And you, like a whipped dog, have followed right behind them.

2) F*ck the Republicans if they DID free the slaves--which they didn't. If I quit raping, robbing, killing and stomping you, do I deserve a pay for stopping? Since when did you deserve credit for being like a human being.

You must have been abused as a child or as a spouse because you show all the symptoms

3) Republicans double crossed negroes--Rutherford B. Hayes made a deal to withdraw the troops from the South before the blacks had solidified their power to resist which doomed black people there, like you to 100 years of brutal semi slavery that they haven't come up through yet

But like loyal dogs they continued to support Republicans until the 1930's, when they failed to support anti lynching or civil rights legislation
--this to protect their most loyal voting bloc.

What kind of depraved savage treats his most loyal supporter this way?

4) You combine ignorance with low self esteem. You wonder why black criminals and youth have no respect for black victims?

This is in part the reason. Knowing they think like you do, when they kill a black they feel like they aren't killing anything.

Contemplate all this on the tree of woe.

My parents and many others like them were Republicans until Democrat FDR was elected President in 1933 and rescued the country from the doldrums of The Depression. Also, many Blacks voted for Eisenhower during the 1950s because he was a popular war hero who many said was a Democrat in Republican's clothing.

At last! Chris and Cynique have something in common. Their parents/grandparents were all Republicans.

Since this was a while before my time, I'm confused. I thought Blacks couldn't vote until the 1960's. Were Blacks allowed to vote in some places (states) and not others?

You have to be kidding. As soon as they were freed, Blacks had the
right to vote. And those who migrated up north could vote. Those who stayed in the South fell victim to the illegal Jim Crow restrictions and States rights statutues which the civil rights movement fought to abolish. At age 21, I was one of millions of Northern Negroes who voted for Democrat Adlai E. Stevenson who ran against Eisenhower for president in 1952! All women didn't get the right to vote until 1920. But up North, black men could register and vote and run for office way before the 1960s. In 1968, the voting age was dropped from 21 to 18.

Even I know that the civil rights movement as far as voting goes was to end the unfair practices that were in place to prevent blacks from exercising the right to vote. Such as asking them to recite the constitution from memory. And asking them to read difficult text, knowing that many blacks couldn't read that well etc.

Also The Northern black urban voters were who kept Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt in office for 4 terms during the 1930s and 40s, back before they had term limits on the presidency. I didn't realize that this wasn't common knowledge. But I guess baby boomers aren't that familiar with things that didn't happen during their lifetimes.Hummm.

And take note, a_womon, that the practices you mention only took place in the South. Up North, blacks even had their own political machines dating back to the 1920s during which time blacks not only voted once but were paid by corrupt politicians to vote 2 and 3 times during an election.

My brother (as I recall the story) paid his "poll tax" and voted in a segregated facility in the early or mid 30's in the deep, deep south. It was stated that colored votes were destroyed and not counted.

"You are attempting to sweep things under the rug when you take my posts, retort with your typical long-winded rants, and insert and insinuate."

Sweep things under the rug? Is there an echo in the room? SWEEP WHAT??? I've asked you how many times to explain this? Again: SWEEP WHAT?? I don't have to sweep anything under the rug my dear. The history and record of the Republican party speaks for itself! They document themselves with their hypocrisy. I don't have to say anything! Got it!!??

"And BTW, the Republicans freed the slaves."

Really? Uh huh.....I see. Well, thanks for the history lesson but for the record -I already knew that! But the Republican party that freed black slaves "is not" the same Republican party of today. Where you aware of this? Conservatives always attempt to make this misleading spurious argument since Lincoln was a Republican. As if the Republican party has always been at the forefront for black human and civil rights. It's simply another Republican ruse (in a long list) witch history does not support. The Democrat party of the early 1800's was pro slavery while Northern Democrats and Republicans opposed slavery. Historical fact. No need to go any further. Once again, trust me, I'm historically aware of the original Republican and Democratic parties.

So what happened? Soon after World War II, there was an aggressive civil rights movement. There was a growing wave of more liberal and young Democrats who began changing the old face of the Democratic party (I'm sure you are well aware of Strom Thurmond and his breakaway Dixiecrat Party of 1948 and what lead to it's creation). Increasingly, the white Southerners began feeling threatened and alienated because of the ever increasing human and civil rights hub bub and concern for black folks. When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was brokered and passed (enter Senator Everett Dirksen), that was the final straw for Southern white Democrats, who began voting against Democratic incumbents for GOP candidates. The Republicans carried many Southern states for the first time since before the Great Depression. After that, it was a mass defection of White Southern Democrats into the open arms of the Republican party.

That is why the South, which was once dominated by Southern Democrats, is now solid Red State white conservative Republican. Just like the man you probably venerate so much, Trent Lott (R-Mississippi) and members of the White Conservative Council ( formerly the rabidly anti-black White Citizens Council) who supported him, were once Democrats -now they are all Republicans. But of course you knew that.......

"How soon you forget. But I understand that you are trapped in that slave mentality where you'll stay with a political party just because your mammy and your pappy were in it."

Well, first of all, if you are referring to being a Democrat, I am not one. I was very clear about this from the onset. But in your futile desperation to make a pointless point, you consciously overlooked that. As far as my mammy and pappy are concerned, my mom is a Democrat but I'm not sure about my father. We've never really disused party affiliation.

"Do you see why I call you dumb?"

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Let's see here, I'm motivated and concerned with issues -not political party platforms. It is you who is hell bent on being a nice colored person and water boy for the white conservative Republican party. A party that is very open and unrepentant about it's indifference and hostility towards blacks, working class and poor people, other minorities and women's rights. You're the party line hack and self defacing minstrel apologist -not me. But like you said, me being politically independent and issue conscious (regardless of political party association), makes me dumb. Yeah.....Ok..Ok.....Mzuri, you win.

"And I'm not defending the Republicans,......"

Uhhhh...Yes your are! You're very defensive about the hypocrisy and exclusivity of a major completely white dominated political party. And for the record, you defending them has been pretty weak up to this point.

"........I'm simply not going to let you act as though the Republicans are the evil corrupt political party and the Democrats are all goodness and light. Because that's bullshit.

Ummmmm......One more time my dear: DID YOU READ ANYWHERE IN THIS THREAD WHERE I MADE EXCUSES OR DEFENDED POOR BEHAVIOR OR PERFOMANCE OF THE DEMOCATIC PARTY? DID I SUGGEST, EVEN ONE TIME, THE REPUBLICANS ARE CORRUPT AND BAD WHILE DEMOCRATS ARE NOT??? Go back again and read everything I wrote and find where I said such. Then get back with me. Ok...???

NT - Does it really take you two-three days to come up with a response to my posts? Why do you persist in responding after this much time has passed? The dynamics of the discussion are dead. I understand that you are busy and that your life doesn't revolve around this forum the way that you think that mine does, but really, you need to check your overbearing obsessive conduct, disengage your teeth from outta my ass, and give it a rest.

"NT - Does it really take you two-three days to come up with a response to my posts? Why do you persist in responding after this much time has passed? The dynamics of the discussion are dead."

Mzuri, don't try to flip the script and make this an issue about me -it's not! It's about the hypocrisy of the Republican party. And if you were not aware, let me give you some helpful information: You have the option to respond or completely ignore my posts regardless of brevity or content. You choose to respond! So it does not matter what period of time elapses between my responses -you are always there, lurking in the shadows, waiting to respond to anything I write in response to your comments. How do I know? You just did it! Besides, you never fail to do so regardless of the number of days it takes me to respond. So it doesn't matter how long it takes me to respond to you. You have nothing but time on your hands and nothing else to do but write and respond on this board!

"I understand that you are busy and that your life doesn't revolve around this forum the way that you think that mine does,...."

I come and go as time permits my dear. I do not respond or comment on a daily basis (like you do). Do you have a problem with it? .

"......... but really, you need to check your overbearing obsessive conduct, disengage your teeth from outta my ass, and give it a rest."

You say I need to check my overbearing and obsessive conduct?????? OMG!! This is the text book example of the kettle and skillet. No need to comment. But perhaps you should be a little more careful about what issues you choose to defend and the people you call names. But I tell ya what -let's be civil and agree to disagree about your beloved Republican party and move on. I'm done...........

Sure there are dummies in the Democratic, but just as many dummies in the Republican party -- the later proven many times over in just this thread alone. LOL

JMHO - I don't believe that I need to make excuses for anything. I was born in 1960 - OVERSEAS - I didn't even come to the United States until 1966. Furthermore, not that it's ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS - I am a naturalized American citizen. Was here for about a year (from 1966-67) and went back overseas. My parents kept me sheltered during those years, probably because they didn't want me to feel inferior for being Black. I attended American Dependents Schools, resided on Army bases, and I never had any negative experiences regarding race during my childhood years at all. To be honest, I didn't even know I was "Black." And I'm sure that's something that you will NEVER be able to relate to.

How is any of that making excuses? What has led you to assess that I am not well-read? Because I asked a question that you deem stupid. I read plenty, but I'm not particularly interested in the past, I'm interested in the present and the future. And so I don't sit around and read books about who fukced John and what happened in the 1700's.

There are those who believe that we need to know about our history in order to know ourselves but I am not of that school of thinking. I believe that there are things that happened in the past that we will never know, and there are lies being told today about history. So fukc history. It doesn't interest me. I don't have time.

I question the validity of most of what is written in The Holy Bible, but I digress.

Now if you were around during the civil rights movement and you wish to enlighten me as to why voting rights was an issue when Black people could already legally vote, please feel free to share your experiences. The reason that I asked Cynique, is because she was around and she was able to expound.

If I was concerned that me posting my queries to this forum would make me look stupid to whomever, then I would have contacted Cynique directly. In other words, I don't give a fukc if you think I'm stupid, can't read, and can't keep my tongue in my mouth.

So do me a favor and

Just keep your
Moronic
Half-assed
Opinions to yourself

Thank you

Can you spell HISTORY? Don't tell met that your schools didn't teach you about something as MAJOR as the civil rights movement? My uncles and aunts were army brats over in Germany and ALL OF THEM were taught HISTORY. You know MARTIN LUTHER KING and all of THAT! How could your parents have sheltered you from something that was broadcast all over the globe???? And for someone you doesn't dwell on history wasn't it YOU who brought up the fact that THE REPUBLICANS freed the slaves? So you studied The ancient history of slavery but not the more relevant issue of the civil rights movement? HMMMMMMMMMMM...

Do yourself a favor, don't try to explain yourself any further on this TOPIC mzuri, the more you post and try to defend yourself the worse and more absurd you look. Really.

Broadcast all over the globe!?!?!?

Again, you went to school and received some coursework on American history, along the way, I'm sure. And, what does you not going to school in the US, have to do with you not knowing NOW that the Black folks got the right to vote before the late 50s and the 60s? And, you may not have known or were aware that you were "Black", but I am sure you noticed, the skin color differences, wherever you resided overseas. And, even more so, since living the US. C'mon on Mzuri, thou protesth too much, in fact, way too much.

Mzuri wrote:

Just so you'll know, though you claim to be not interested, in the history, black men got the right to vote in 1870, and women in 1920.

Mzuri wrote:

What Cynique and others shared can be found in books, hence my suggestion. Or even on the intenet. And, a lot of "black history" is passed down orally from one generation to the next. There are certainly more people living today who were not around back then than were. That's the point. But, then, you say above you're not interested in what happened in the past, only the present and the future. You don't think it's all related -- oh, well.

Not my "personal" experience, but to answer your question, black folks had a "right" to vote, but there were poll taxes, night rides by the Klan, literacy tests, grandfather clauses, count the number of jellybeans in the jar, ETC., that kept Blacks from exercising their right to vote.

Obviously. But going around calling other dummies, dimwits, fucktards, and such, while your knowledge is lacking only illuminates your lack, more so than those you're calling names.

This is more than you not knowing about Black folks not having the right to vote before the CRM. You claimed the political party, which you joined, that you didn't know that one of their "holier than thou" mantra was 'family values', and that you switched, from the Democratic party to the Republican party, because of Bill Clinton and his lies, and when questioned about the liars and hypocrites in the Republican party, here's a few of excuses you gave: that you were not in DC (newsflash: there are a lot more politicians' constituents who don't live in DC than do live in DC) or that you didn't keep up with those Republicans in DC (though you obviously keep with at least one Democrat, who lived in DC, namely Bill Clinton) or that you don't usually sit around and surf the internet for things that aren't productive to my business endeavors (I would think political party by which you're about to join would warrant some net searches and-or research).

The most ironic thing to me was that, all the while, Republican Newt Gingrich, who was Speaker of the House, and second in line, in succession, just after the V.P., was hammering away at Clinton, he was cheating on his SECOND wife, by having an affair with a mucher younger Congressional aide, whom later became his THIRD wife. Now if you think there wasn't any hanky panky going in Newt's DC's work office, you're in deep denial. Then Newt's successor, Livingstone, (can't remember his first name just now) had to step down, because of his marital infidelities. You may not want to admit or acknowledge, but Clinton wasn't the only one who couldn't keep his pants up, or his wee wee in his pants.

Now if you're using a ruler by which to judge Clinton then you have to use that same ruler against those in the Republican party. George Bush told the world, that Saddam Hussein he had a stockpile of WMDs, and we had to invade Iraq, in the disguise of winning the "War on Terror." It's been 4 years later, and tens of thousands of lives lost, and they haven't one found yet. You want to know why, because there were none.

Now on any scale, and in any rational and thinking person's mind, what Clinton lied about pales in comparison to what Bush lied about. You disagree, fine with me.

You gave the reason, that while in the 60s, you were a child and overseas, and shouldn't have be expected know about current events, at that time, but what I mentioned above, happened while you were an adult, and living in the US, so, now what excuse, from your long list, you wanna throw out now, for not knowing or caring?

JMHO. You too, are putting, words into, my mouth or reading, between, the lines, things, that are, not there.

I never said, I shouldn't, be expected, to know, anything. And it is because, I did not know, that I asked questions.

You see, a man who asks, a question, may be, a fool, for a minute, but a man, who never asks, will be, a fool, for a lifetime. And so, I feel no, shame, in that I asked. And shame on you, for trying, to make it, a bad, thing, to ask, a simple, question.

I'd like to, thank you for, your time, and attention, in preparing, your dissertation. Not sure what WMD, has to do with, this conversation, or with me, but since you brought, it up, let me have your, thoughts on this -

Do you think, that thousands, of people, wearing bombs, and detonating, themselves amongst a crowd, could be considered, as a weapon, of mass, destruction?

Do you think, that warehouses, filled with bomb vests, could be considered, as a weapon, of mass, destruction?

Do you think, that nerve gas, released on thousands, of innocent, people, could be considered, as a weapon, of mass, destruction?

What about thousands of IEDs, along, the side, of the road?

Ponder, on that, why don't, you, great thinker.

What seems to be obvious to me from this whole discourse is that within the diverse population of 49 million AAs, half of whom are probably old enough to have accumulated some personal history, that black experience is different things to different individuals. There's the Northern black experience, the Southern black experience, the urban black experience, the rural black experience, the small town black experience, and - the "army brat" black experience. To try and characterize a "typical" black experience is treading a slippery slope. And when we get into the area of expecting others to justify the way they are, then we are becoming judgmental. We are all the products of the lives we've led. IMO.

I know folks don't have a say so to whom they are born, where they are born or when they are born. But when one routinely call other dummies, you would think that person would know more than the ones they are calling dummies.

Mzuri is trying to make this out to be about when and where she was born, as to why she didn't know (then or now), but ignoring the fact, that she is now 45+ years old, and lives in the US, and oddly, she still didn't know.

Yes, you did, but you also said that you didn't care about the past. You are trying to have it both ways, Mzuri. Sure you didn't know, and to ask was a remedy, but then it's all those other contradictory comments, such as, "So fukc history. It doesn't interest me. I don't have time."; "I read plenty, but I'm not particularly interested in the past, I'm interested in the present and the future. I am not trying to shame you -- you can do a much better job than I ever could. And, that's what you just don't want to admit. Just as YOU brought up Clinton, a Democrat, and his lie, though the thread was about Craig. It was fine that you brought Democrats, into the discussion, but when others threw back at you, lies told by other Republicans, now you wanna act like it has nothing do with the conversation. You even said that Clinton and his "lies" is why you joined the Republican party.

What about thousands of IEDs, along, the side, of the road?

You've swallowed the link, hook *and* sinker. I know you're not naïve enough, to think those Iraqis were going to just roll over, and let someone else come in, and invade their country, without putting up a fight. Much of what we claimed they had, we have ourselves.

But, now if got reputable evidence, or know something factual, that counters, what the CIA has reported, ("In his final word, the CIA’s top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has “gone as far as feasible” and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion." from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7634313/)", then offer it up, I'll definitely consider it.

Here ya go SHITZURI! Add this to all the other lies you've told on this thread! HA! So much for your "we got a different education overseas" LIE! HA! ! And if you need to see more lies, Shitzuri, you LIAR, go back and re-read your very own posts! HA!

American Overseas Schools - Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS), Independent Schools, State Department Schools, Types of Schools

These schools typically have a basic American curriculum.

During the 1960s and 1970s, worldwide K–12 enrollment averaged 160,000 students. In 1976, the Department of Defense assumed the direct management of all of the schools. In 1979, the name for the system became the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS), the name still commonly used to identify the system. After the Cold War ended, DoDDS schools decreased in number. As of 2000 approximately 220 schools existed in fifteen foreign countries and Puerto Rico, with about 68 percent of the students enrolled in elementary schools, 15 percent in middle schools, and 17 percent in high schools. All DoD programs are accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges

Most American overseas schools end up looking very much like schools in the United States. Curricula have common elements, pupil-teacher ratios are similar, texts are standard and represent those usually found in stateside schools; extracurricular activities, including athletics, are numerous and resemble those found in U.S. schools. Part of the reason for this similarity is that the American schooling model is a familiar one; but this also happens because parents are eager for their children to have the same, or at least a similar, school experience as those children "back home." In many ways, this desire is also prompted by the knowledge that, at some point, children from the overseas school will have to transition back into the stateside school system.

Conclusion: You may have been taught some extra subjects, depending on which country you were in overseas, but you weren't taught anything less or different when it comes to American Standards or else those schools would NOT have been accredited or recognized here when students came home to be schooled.

Haven't I already told you stank bitches to kiss my Black ass.

A-Hole, I don't require a breakdown of the class curriculum of American Dependents School. That was not the issue.

One more time for you slow fucks, I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT WHILE I WAS A CHILD.

IT WAS NOT DISCUSSED IN MY CLASSROOM.

IT WAS NOT DISCUSSED IN MY HOME.

NOR ON THE PLAYGROUND.

Were either of you bitches there? Doubt it.

And here in the present, all I asked about were conditions prior to the Civil Rights Movement.

Were either of you bitches in that?

Was either of your asses in all 50 states to know what the human rights conditions were for Blacks all over the U.S.A.?

I think not.

And one more thing you dumb hos ought to know. Contrary to popular belief, I don't KNOW everything. Okay.

Thank you and STFU.

"One more time for you slow fucks, I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT WHILE I WAS A CHILD."

Can you explain not knowing about the Civil Rights Movement as an ADULT! At 46 YEARS OLD??

And then you talk about how you are so stuck in the present and the future yet you gave yourself the label as being the 'board HISTORIAN' because you like to dig up old sh1t that people said on Thumper's Corner from months even up to a year ago..how can someone who cares so much about the present spend most of their time bringing up the past???

Don't you have kids? You mean to tell us that you weren't even aware of the fact that your children were learning about the Civil Rights Movement in school?? You never paid attention to your children's homework from any of their history classes or picked up their history books?? They never told you about it?? You might not even have children because that is one of the very first things they learn in early grade school

Your feigning ignorance to the history of your people because you were a military brat is not going to cut it!!! The comment: "My parents kept me sheltered during those years, probably because they didn't want me to feel inferior for being Black", is telling. You sound exactly like Ward Connerly. Like you, he is a hard line Negro Republican who used the cheap and unconvincing prosaic excuse of not knowing he was black because he grew up as a colored mascot in an all white town in California and they never made him feel uncomfortable or different because he was black. A sixty-eight year old black man who claims no knowledge nor interest in the human and Civil Rights era of the 50's and 60's. How sad.....

"To be honest, I didn't even know I was "Black." And I'm sure that's something that you will NEVER be able to relate to."

Ya got that right. And you still don't know it!!! Now I see why you are a Republican. You fit in just fine.

"How is any of that making excuses?

Very simple my dear, almost as simple as you are. First of all, I was not born nor was I around during the Civil War. Yet I have very detailed knowledge of it. I was not raised during the Harlem Renaissance. But I have a deep appreciation and interest in the maker and shakers (Aaron Douglass, Countee Cullen, Zora N. Hurston, Arna Bontemps, James Weldon. Johnson, et al) of this fascinating period in black America history. I was not here when Emmitt Till was lynched. But I know all about the case, his murderers, the trial, the results and the most recent reopening of the case. Scottsboro Boys? No, I was not here in 1931 but yet I know about the case. The point is simply this, in order to have a reasonable working knowledge of history or a particular occurrence, you need not be born nor in anyway personally involved. All you need to have is curiosity or an interest to know. With you, the suffering, sacrifices and history of black Americans, is something you have no interest in nor respect for. You have made that painfully clear. Done deal.....

"What has led you to assess that I am not well-read?"

How could you possibly have an education beyond the 7th grade (and I'm being very generous here) when you made such a jaw dropping ignorant comment like: "Since this was a while before my time, I'm confused. I thought Blacks couldn't vote until the 1960's. Were Blacks allowed to vote in some places (states) and not others?" That question was so revealing of your stunning level of brain-dead ignorance. EITHER YOU ARE STUPID (GENETIC) OR DEPRESSINGLY IGNORANT (SELF IMPOSED OR LACK OF EDUCATION). Which is it??? I suspect both.

"Because I asked a question that you deem stupid. I read plenty, but I'm not particularly interested in the past, I'm interested in the present and the future. And so I don't sit around and read books about .................So fukc history. It doesn't interest me. I don't have time."

Thank you. You just made my point. Your indifference and seeming hostility towards the history of people who put their lives on the line so that "you" and generations of blacks after them, would not have to live under the specter of mob lynching, blatant denial of basic constitutional rights, degrading legal segregation, the right to vote as an American citizen, etc, as they did, is dually noted. It means nothing to you and you have neither the time nor desire to know. Your words -not mine. Again, done deal......

"Now if you were around during the civil rights movement and you wish to enlighten me as to why voting rights was an issue when Black people could already legally vote, please feel free to share your experiences."

I don't think so. If you, as a damn near fifty year old black woman, has to have someone explain to you "why voting rights for blacks, was an issue for what ever reason," then you are truly pathetic and staggeringly ignorant beyond belief. Bottom line: If you have been this inexcusably ignorant for almost fifty years, then you keep on living in your reality free insulated world.

And one more thing; Don't ever....ever....never, call anyone on this board stupid or ignorant again. Not after what you arrogantly confessed. You forfeited the right to do so forever. E'nuff said.............

Wow!!!!! Folks, need I comment about the wanton idiocy of the aforementioned comments? Need I further comment as to the degree this Republican house pet has discredited herself? Has not her embarrassing cynical confessions of inexcusable ignorance and indifference to the history of a people who provided her with a better life that they themselves were denied, revealed to us the degree of her arrogance and absurdity? Her sad and dismal excuse of; I didn't know I was black....No none told me....I don't read history...fukc history...I wasn't around....I was too young to know...., is very revealing of the depravity and stupidity of this white conservative Republican parrot and flunky.

And to further her insults, this uneducated snickering nescient Negro has the nerve to castigate other members of this board for not applauding nor sympathizing with her cavalier and seemingly hostile attitude towards generations of blacks who paved the way for her freedom and right to vote! WTF..??!! I've heard some doofus Negroes say things that were shocking, almost unbelievable in it's depth of sutpidity, but this ladies and gentlemen, is the worst! Done..........

NT and A-HOLE - Glad you are done. You have blown a simple question way out of proportion and as usual twisted my words. But whatever. If this is payback for all the times I told you sorry bitches off, more power to you.

Clearly you can't comprehend what was meant when I said I didn't know I was "Black" because you were brought up with an inferior racist ghetto mentality and you perceive yourselves as second class citizens. You are stuck with limitations that you allowed others to cast upon you.

I did not suffer that misfortune. I grew up in a multiracial community (if you weren't in Europe in the 60's, then you can't relate - and if you weren't brought up in the military, then you can't relate either) and race was not an issue for me. To be honest, it's not much of an issue for me now. But again, you probably cannot comprehend. Second class citizens.

And to Booty. I never declared myself as board historian, that was done by Troy. I'm sure you missed it and I'm not going to bother to link to it. But if you're going to cast insults about what I self-professed, get your facts straight.

I can't change what I knew or when I knew it. I'm glad that I didn't know about the racial turmoil of the U.S.A. during my childhood. Did that knowledge enhance any of your childhoods?

Now once again to Booty, A-HOLE, JMHO, NT and all the rest of you bitches, kiss my Black ass. Please.

I grew up in a multi-racial community during the 40s and the 50s and I've always gone to integrated schools. Up north there was racial prejudice but there was not an ongoing violent situation. The idea that there was this constant state of racial turmoil is just not accurate.

Yes, northern blacks did tend to stay in their place but it was not that big of a deal because we didn't need to mix with whites in order to enjoy ourselves which was why we engaged in voluntary segregation. Yes, we could've been regarded as second-class citizens when it came to equality in the work place and limitations in accomodations but we didn't allow ourselves to be defined by how others classified us, and we could vote and as individuals did make great strides.

The Civil Rights movement of the 1950s was an idea whose time had come, and it was at this juncture that "negroes" all over the country came together to fight racial discrimination, thanks to the charisma of Martin Luther King.

In the south the push for equality was manifested in violence on the part of whites who were frustrated by the "passive resistance" tactic of the civil rights movement. And I can tell you that in the North it was possible to be a spectator to what erupted when activists began to agitate. I sat in the comfort of my living room in my quiet little integrated neightborhood staring at the TV screen, watching Bull Connor let loose the dogs and turn fire hoses on black demonstators, just like a whole lot of other northern blacks did. And although we weren't there, we were with our brethern in spirit and what we witnessed mobilized us to step up and do our part in the struggle. Some folks picketed, others participated in marches, many just gave money, and I, as a young mother tied down with kids WROTE SCATHING LETTERS OF PROTEST TO NEWSPAPERS, most of which were printed and drew such rabid reaction, that I was asked by a white editor of a white newspaper to write a column giving the black perspective on the change that was taking place in America. Such change didn't occur instantly because it was met with resistance all during the 1960s but blacks always had the option to join the fight, and many did simply choose to remain on the sidelines.

I say all of this to say that due to my particular circumstances, I was not subjected to blatant racism or was I in the thick of the civil rights battle but never at any time did I not know that I was black! And just because a black person doesn't know that she is black doesn't mean that a white person doesn't know that she is.

Cyn - In my original comment stating that I did not know I was Black I was referring to the time frame that I was writing about in that particular post. 1966-67 - when I was a 6, 7, 8 year old child. Race was not part of my consciousness because it was not an issue. I was never directed to sit at the back of any bus, I was never separated/segregated from white people where I couldn't drink from water fountains, use the same facilities, or any of that. To my knowledge, I wasn't treated any differently than anyone else. If there was a social event, my family sat together with all other people, B&W. My parents never told me to know my place or that I should address white people as sir or ma'am, let white people go thru entrances first, or any of the other things that other children may or may not have been told. Obviously I knew I was different since I had a crazy head of hair to deal with that white girls were not fortunate enough to be blessed with. LOL.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And to NT, if the above makes me a WARD CONNERLY, then I'm fucking WARD CONNERLY, you sorry assed pissant B!TCH

"I can't change what I knew or when I knew it. I'm glad that I didn't know about the racial turmoil of the U.S.A. during my childhood. Did that knowledge enhance any of your childhoods?"

You've been in this thread for DAYS claiming to not know anything about the Civil Rights Movement and you STILL have not made any attempts to google or pick up a book about it YET ?? You are truly special.

I think you NOT knowing about the racial turmoil in the USA (besides who would move & live in a country without getting to know the history first) has stunted your growth as a woman. It's so obvious that you have been shut off from the world and have never really experienced LIFE, and you're still bitter about it. I don't think you've ever been married or had any kids. Because if you had a husband, and he was born and RAISED in the USA then that knowledge surely would have been passed on to you. Even your kids, if born in the 70s & 80s, would have gave you some insight into the Civil Rights Movement or any racial prejudices that went on in America. Let's forget about you having FRIENDS, because for damn sure we know you never had any because that is where MAJOR experiences come into play as well. You learn things like that through living LIFE, which is obvious you haven't. Staying locked up in the house all day Mzuri, surfing the net, refusing to live in the outside world has done you no favors at all. And please don't lie and say you leave the house because on many occassions you said that you don't.

StankBooty - WTF did I say that I didn't know anything about the civil rights movement. I asked for clarification on whether Blacks had the right to vote prior to that. Since the right to vote was an issue, it didn't make sense that it was something we already possessed. Now, why don't you learn to read and comprehend, and take your lamebrain ass on somewhere and stop worrying about how I spend my time. Thank you b!tch.

You think your usage of commas, in this statement is correct, and this an example of how to write a sentence?

Why don't you move on? I know why, you can't. You're just compelled to dazzle us with your brilliance. LOL

Cyn - In my original comment stating that I did not know I was Black I was referring to the time frame that I was writing about in that particular post. 1966-67 - when I was a 6, 7, 8 year old child.

You were 6 and 7 years old, in the years, 1966 and 1967, if you were born in 1960. In another thread, you said that you were 46 years, soon to be 47, in a couple of months. I guess, they taught a different way of adding and subtracting, in those overseas schools, too.

I'd wager, that nearly all of us posting, didn't experience any, of what you mention above, but that didn't mean that we were not aware that we were black, regardless of where we lived, and these are reasons, for a lack of knowledge. Still fail to see the connection between any of this, and what you don't know now, as a grown woman.

You just keep tighten that noose, eh?

JustMyDumbOpinion - What compels you to pick apart my posts and question me? My post was directed to Cynique - that's why it starts out to "Cyn" Get it? It didn't require any input or interrogation from you. Your clinginess is sweet but this horse is dead and stinkin. It's time for you to get over me, get a life, and move on.

"Clearly you can't comprehend what was meant when I said I didn't know I was "Black" because you were brought up with an inferior racist ghetto mentality and you perceive yourselves as second class citizens. You are stuck with limitations that you allowed others to cast upon you."

Did Rush Limbuagh tell you that? Do you have your Karl Rove cuecards cards in front of you? First of all, as diverse and different as opinions run on this board, I seriously doubt if anyone who posts here has a "racist ghetto mentality nor think of themselves as second class citizens.". You would be hard pressed to prove that. Secondly, what proof do you have that anyone who has spoken against your (which is everyone if you have noticed) slavish white Republican conservative parroting, believes they are limited? And limited by what? Refusal to accept the duplicity of a party of white conservatives (and a support cast of shuffling Negro maids and shoe shine boys) who have a documented history of indifference and seething hostility towards blacks, women, the environment, non-whites, working and lower class people, gays and unions? Make your case.

"I did not suffer that misfortune. I grew up in a multiracial community (if you weren't in Europe in the 60's, then you can't relate -......."

Bullshit! Every single post you make only serves to illuminate your glaring ignorance even more Mzuri. I was raised in a multiracial community also. And I'm sure a reasonable percentage of the readers of this board where also. We all had non-blacks in our communities, went to school with them and probably played with them as children. You act as if we came from an isolated Apartheid black Gulag while you were basking in the light of mutlitracial harmony in Europe. You spent a maximum of three years with each tour. How many years were you there? All your childhood? Hell no! You act as if you were raised in Sweden and then came to the US when you were twenty five and was appalled by the racial strife. You're such a sick bullshitter.

".... and if you weren't brought up in the military, then you can't relate either) and race was not an issue for me.

I was in the military and it wasn't and issue for me either. Well, not at first, but later it wasn't. But regardless, I will agree, the military does not tolerate open or organized racism. That I can personally confirm. But that does not exonerate you from your comtemptous disrespect for the people of your own race who fought to provide you with a quality of life they were denied.

"To be honest, it's not much of an issue for me now."

No problem. It's not an issue for me now either. But does not mean other blacks are not experiencing it (racism)? The problem with you (among many), is you have juxtaposed your personal experiences upon the lives of all black people regardless of where they live in America Ms. Connerly. Word from Mzuri: "Since it didn't happen to me and I never experienced it and was never aware of it, you didnt either. And if you did, you're probably lying. The white conservative Republicans have been good to me. I love them. What's your problem black folks? Y'all must hate yourselves and believe the lies the Democrats tell you."

"I'm glad that I didn't know about the racial turmoil of the U.S.A. during my childhood. Did that knowledge enhance any of your childhoods?"

Ya know, I can't even restrain myself, you are the most stupid ass pathetic designer Negro I know of. How in the hell can you take "pride" in your self congratulatory ignorance of the racial oppression of your own damn people?? Explain it! At first, I thought your raw ignorance could be linked to your lack of a post 7th grade education. I was wrong. It's worse than that ! You actually enjoy your ignorance to the point of bragging about it! It would be like a Jew claiming he never heard about the Holocaust and when he did learn of it, his response was; "Well, I wasn't there. I didn't experience it so it doesn't bother me. Why should I care? As a Jew, how does knowing about the brutal oppression and genocide of my people help me?"

Thank God there are black people who do care and respect the history of our people because if it were up to you, the memories and efforts of Medgar Evers, The Birmingham church bombing of 1963, Malcolm X, Fannie Lou Hammer, W.E.B. Dubois, Thurgood Marshall, Fred Shuttlesworth, Ella Barker, the Little Rock Nine, Asa Philip Randolph, Ida B. Wells and Abel Meeropols lyrics of "Strange Fruit", would mean absolutely nothing! Why? Well, since white conservative Republicans dismiss and show open contempt for the sacrifices and lives of these black freedom fighters, why should we care? Right Mzuri?

"I was never directed to sit at the back of any bus, I was never separated/segregated from white people where I couldn't drink from water fountains, use the same facilities, or any of that."

And neither was I! Yet I have enough respect and gratitude for the courageous blacks and morally outraged whites, who put their lives on the line so that I could have full constitutional access to Americas playing fields and I would not have to be subject to the open and legal racism and segregation my parents and grandparents experienced. But since your white conservative Republican masters told you none of that is important or relevant (to them), you shouldn't concern yourself with it either. Thus, the white conservative Republican designer Negro is born: "Enter Mzuri." E'nuff said.............

NT,

Whew. I've never seen you get this worked up about a topic. Ususally you dispatch a person with such aplomb, you barely break a sweat!
I have a suggestion. Why not channel some of that raw passion onto the pages of a book? I never tire of reading your (long, ha!) posts. If you wrote a book about the effects of the republican party and their ability to sway blacks to thier side despite the long history of indiffernce, disdain, and hatred for non whites, or one about the birth of the new designer negro(great terminology) I think a lot of people would definitely buy it and enjoy reading it. NO JOKE!

C'mon. At some point, you guys gotta realize that Mzuri is just baiting you, and your getting angry and upset proves how good she is at pushing your buttons. You hear a lot of people saying they grew up being a "have-not" but didn't know they were poor until they ventured away from their home base and encountered the "haves". If Mzuri says she didn't know she was black then that's her problem, not ours. Just think what she had to go through when she found out the truth. Oh, no! LMAO.

You're correct, and I was aware of such, BUT, in case forgot or didn't know, I can response to any post, that I wanna, regardless of what you think. Like everyone else who don't violate the rules set by the site owner.

If it is/was dead, then why do you continue posting? Or anyone else for that matter?

You always telling folks to move on, but you don't, and to get a life, which you don't have. Hard to believe that a person, with a life, can have 5700+ postings, in just over 20 months.

Obviously, just as others are good at baiting her, get her upset, and pushing her buttons. :-)

Maybe. To me, Mzuri's detractors seemed to be up in arms and impassioned while she seemed detached and matter of fact.
