SONYBMG, PRINCE IN ROYAL ROW OVER FREEBIE By PETER LAURIA June 29, 2007 -- SonyBMG is pulling Prince's new album, "Planet Earth," from shelves in the U.K. after the reclusive rock star struck a deal with a local newspaper to give away the CD, The Post has learned. According to two sources close to the situation, Columbia Records - the label Prince records on with SonyBMG - is none too pleased with the miniature minister of funk's deal to include free copies of his new record in The Mail on Sunday. He got to give it away. Nobody wants to buy it. He's still doing the SOS. In 1980 it was new, exciting (actually it was Sly, Funkadelic and Jimi Hendrix put through his own weird filter but it was different) He's trying to palm off the same old stuff. Prince, go to Vegas and headline with Wayne Newton like the other washed up showbiz mummies! |

Wrong. Prince has written hundreds of songs so he's not lacking material. And his music is always fresh. This is a publicity stunt, nothing more. Who are you calling a mummie anyway, as if you have room to talk.

Viva la purple genius! That frog chrishayden is still waiting for somebody to kiss him so he can turn into a Prince. Oh well, maybe he'll just croak. Ribbet. |

. Prince has written hundreds of songs so he's not lacking material (All that crap sounds like it was cut in 1980. He's finished.) |

You don't know what you're talking about, chrishayden. Have you heard the album? You're embarassing yourself by declaring that his genre of music can be dated. Just go quietly and spare us anymore of your drivel. |

You're embarassing yourself by declaring that his genre of music can be dated. (I suppose to someone who used to see Jelly Roll Morton Live and wonders when Satchmo is going to cut another one with the Hot Five--that is, yourself--it is not dated. But most of us have noted the passage of 27 years and the changes therein. Are you still wearing poodle skirts and saddleshoes? |

I repeat. You don't know what you're talking about, chrishayden. The music of artists who create a niche for themselves doesn't go out of style. Is Coltrane dated? Is Wes Montgomery? Charlie Parker? Mozart? Chopin? And as usual you have to resort to aburdity to try and neutralize anybody who doesn't agree with you. You're an unfunny joke. |

Really Chris. Prince has written over 500 songs. http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/prince (Big deal. Most of them sound alike. Is Coltrane dated? Is Wes Montgomery? Charlie Parker? Mozart? Chopin (No--but they kept on innovating up until the last--and by the way, I hate to break this shattering news to you but They're all dead Prince is too. He just don't know it yet. |

How do you know whether or not Prince is innnovating since you haven't heard his latest album, chrishayden? And all of the classic artists never innovated to the point that work was not recognizable. You don't like Prince and that's all it requires for you to diss him or anything else. And what's even worse, you actually think your opinion is the final word. BTW, did I mention that you don't know what you're talking about? |

BTW, did I mention that you don't know what you're talking about? (No. You forgot that one--like you did to return the town library book so Goober and Ernest T. Bass will have something to read!) |
