Wesley Snipes Plays Race Card
Actor claims "selective prosecution" in felony tax avoidance case
JUNE 8--Facing trial in a bizarre tax avoidance scheme, actor Wesley Snipes claims that prosecutors used race as a factor in deciding to charge him with failure to file six years worth of IRS returns. In a motion to dismiss an eight-count indictment filed last October, Snipes argues that he is the victim of selective prosecution. Snipes points to the fact that his two "Caucasian" codefendants, Douglas Rosile and Eddie Kahn, have not been charged with failure to file tax returns, though investigators are aware that Kahn did not file returns for six years and that it was "possible" Rosile did not file for two years. Snipes, who was hit with six felonies for failing to file between 1999-2004, contends that the half-dozen counts were "impermissibly brought on the basis of Mr. Snipes' race" and should be "dismissed based on selective prosecution." Snipes, Rosile, and Kahn have been accused of attempting to defraud the government by claiming that the actor was immune to taxation based on the "861 argument." That claim, which has long been rejected by IRS officials, referd to a section of the federal tax code. Along with playing the race card, the Snipes motion, an excerpt of which you'll find below, claims that the celebrity was actually a victim of "unscrupulous tax advice," not a willing participant in a criminal conspiracy hatched by Rosile and Kahn. As such, a second motion notes, Snipes is mulling a lawsuit against his two codefendants "to recover the losses he suffered as a result of his reliance upon the advice given to him." (5 pages)

I guess some Black ppl really do take it as a compliment when non-Blacks "pat them on the head" and say: You are a good one. You don't look, think, act like the rest of them. You know your place.

Thanks for asking A-Hole. I have several websites and I have other business besides furniture. Fortunately, most of my product based business is on auto-pilot and all that I need to do is answer e-mails - which is what keeps me tied to my computer terminal. I do administrative things such as process orders whenever and other than that I can do pretty much whatever I want with my time. When the mood strikes I do webwork/HTML, setting up websites here and there and I have some blogs. One of my blogs - FYI - pertains to the modular home industry. As to myspace, thanks for the 411 but I'm on that already. And no, dimwit, people are NOT going to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars with someone who only has a myspace profile, most people who have a business at myspace provide links to a domain. Just so you know, I'm not interested in touring the world. My father was in the military and I moved more often than I care to remember and I've had my fill of traveling, I've been most everywhere. I still travel from time to time if I need to be somewhere but I'm mostly a homebody. I have a lovely home and I prefer to be here, which is why I quit working for the Army - so that I could be at home. And BTW, I'm not trying to fool anyone - the people who matter already know. It applies to situations when individuals (regardless of their race) will use “race” as a victimization trump card or a disingenuous excuse, when in reality, the individuals race has absolutely nothing to do with the predicament or conditions they find themselves in. Yukio, bad behavior is bad behavior. There are no racial genetic components that create nor inhibit bad behavior.

Again, poor behavior and good behavior has no racial component. Good or poor behavior exists within all groups. They can be classified for racial clarification (e.g., white trash, Negroes, niggers* red necks, etc...). But the bad behavior is not exclusive to any one group.

Absolutely not! Blacks labored under a very brutally racist caste system that was culturally and legally supported.
