In 2002, TLC rapper Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in a car accident while on vacation in Honduras. Much of her trip to the Central America nation — including her fatal crash — was filmed, and this footage has been turned into a VH-1 documentary, Last Days of Left Eye. The film's director, Lauren Lazin, talks to Farai Chideya about this new look at Left Eye's life and death. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10267773 |

Apparently, the film aired earlier this month. Anyone see it? |

This documentary is quite graphic. Apparently Lisa filmed her entire time she was in Honduras. The ending is quite shocking. |

I saw the film on VHI. Really eerie. Lisa was actually narrating the documentary. And she was very upbeat, and kept saying how she felt she was on the threshold of a big change in her life. The film showed her profile as she was at the wheel of the car speeding along and her eyelids were blinking like she was trying to focus on something. When the car swirved, everybody else started screaming but she just went "Whooooooa!" |

"Last Days" reminds me of Tupac's "Resurrection". I read somewhere where Lisa thought she would die young, like 'Pac.

Yes, Robynmarie, the director (Lauren Lazin) also did the Tupac documentary. And Cynique, in the NPR piece Farai Chideye talks about that sequence and asks the director if she thinks that might point to Left Eye possibly crashing on purpose. (Lazin says she does not believe this.) |

Yvettep, I kinda agreed with Farai, that LE might have crashed on purpose. But there was no way of knowing that only she would die. Was LE willing to take her brother and sister with her? |
