Say what you want about them Mexicans, they sure got busy when the L.A. police kicked them around. No muss. No fuss. Suspended the cops. Demoted them. And said they are going to demonstrate again in a month. Brown power. No riots. No demonstrations. And the cops got the message. I have never seen this happen even in cities where they got Negro mayors. Whazzup? |

Actually Chrishayden the Black ppl here have alot of power also. And believe me this is all possible because of Rodney King. If this had happened lets say 20 years ago then nothing would have happened to those cops. The Mexicans here are just enjoying the priveledges that Black ppl "paved" for them. |

The black people have to burn down half the town and get 40 or 50 shot and thousands jailed to get some redress The Mexicans do it like it ought to be done. That's what I see. Anybody ever see a situation like this that was handled in such a way by the black folks? We can't even get a police review board in a city that is almost 60% black. When are the black people going to be able to excercise the power the way its supposed to be? We been paving the way for 40 years and still got nothing to show. |

Yeah Chris and that is because of Rodney King. They don't want another "uprising" like that again. Also, it was not Black ppl who caused and maintained the riots. It was actually illegal, Mexican immigrants. |

My, my. Listen to ol chrishayden criticizing black people. Something he apparently thinks only he has the right to do. And listen to ol SOS; stating the obvious, as usual. |

As usual Granny has nothing enlightening to add to the conversation unless she is on her meds. I think Cynique is getting a little "Cabin Fever". Somebody better wheel her out of the Nursing Home so she can get some "fresh air". |

You don't get "cabin fever" in the springtime, ding bat. It's a wintertime affliction. And you're behind the time, as usual, not knowing that the Oprah show you were blabbing about on another post was a re-run that aired waaaay last year. Every time you post something, fresh air goes out the window. |

"Actually Chrishayden the Black ppl here have alot of power also. And believe me this is all possible because of Rodney King. If this had happened lets say 20 years ago then nothing would have happened to those cops." This is very true. Had this incident happened in 1980 or 1985, it would not have been reported. Read a book written by Mike Rothmiller, called;"L.A. Secret Police: Inside the Lapd Elite Spy Network". He joined the LAPD in the early 70's and he detailed what he saw and experienced on the streets of LA as a cop before moving over into the LAPD version of CONTELPRO. The book was so hard core it was like a civilian version of the book "Nam" (detailed the incredible violence, death and brutality in Viet Nam). The LAPD would beat your ass into a six month coma for something as simple as unfriendly eye balling! And if you were black -well, you got special consideration and treatment! But today, the LAPD is very conscious about another potential bad situation since the Rodney King beat down and the horrific aftermath of the trials. It's not worth it. The cops were overaggressive and there did not appear to be any civil disobedience or violence brewing. I understand what cops have to go through and I'm always aware of the things that happen that are not recorded on tape. Been there -done that. But from what I saw, the police displayed an overzealous and unwarranted bully boy show of force -IMO. Glad to hear the police chief step up to the plate.
