you know what, when i was in elementary school we used to have a music class where we would have to sing these lame ass songs that i thought all kids had to sing. and it just donned one me that our son of a beotch music teacher had us singing "blue tail fly". as a kid you don't notice that kind of crap, but now that i think about it what balls on that music teacher to play us like that. *even though there where only 3 other black kids in my class* . i don't know if they still even have music class for kids now, but geez i can say why they don't anymore. have any of you ever realized some stuff that was pulled over on you as a kid like this? think about it, and while your at enjoy the good ol' slave song lyrics below. When I was young I used to wait On master and hand him his plate Pass him the bottle when he got dry And brush away the blue-tail fly Chorus Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care My master's gone away When he would ride in the afternoon I'd follow him with my hickory broom The pony being rather shy When bitten by the blue-tail fly Chorus One day he rode around the farm Flies so numerous that they did swarm One chanced to bite him on the thigh The devil take the blue-tail fly Chorus Well the pony jumped, he start, he pitch He threw my master in the ditch He died and the jury wondered why The verdict was the blue-tail fly Chorus Now he lies beneath the 'simmon tree His epitaph is there to see "Beneath this stone I'm forced to lie The victim of the blue-tail fly" |

I got you some better-- How about singing "Ole Black Joe" in an integrated gradeschool class as the white students snicker? How about singing "The Missouri Waltz" our state song, which features lyrics about "the darkies singing" and all that. Don't forget "De Camptown Races" with the "Gwine to run all night (I have never heard black people say "gwine". Now Misery tells you to get over it. But Jewish people are still talking about the Holocaust. Happened 60 years ago and few alive were there. Don't forget about how our white Southern brothers and sisters are still fighting the Civil War. Misery, you need to get over discovering that nobody else is going to forget. Never again. |

I'm still grateful to you Dobes for calling to my attention the intrigue that resonates in the simple but symbolic message contained in the old round: Row, row, row, your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream...

Hey Dobes! Can you believe the Bulls? They tried to give the game away but The Heat just wouldn't take it, which says a lot about the caliber of their championship status. I just hope The Heat doesn't decide to make history and win the next 4 games. We shall see. |

"I just hope The Heat doesn't decide to make history and win the next 4 games. We shall see." Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Not hardly. But weren't those days of the Michael Jordan and company great! There will never be another team like the Bulls when they made those series of NBA Championship runs.

Tell me about it! Those were glory days and boy was I exhilirated by all of the excitement during that era. All of Chicagoland would just be caught up in the mania. It got to the place where everybody would schedule their lives around the playoffs in June. Brides didn't want to have their weddings then, churches would cut their services short. The game scores were annouced after every quarter at any gathering of people who couldn't be glued to a TV set. And of course everybody held game-watching parties. Such fun! |

Well, Dobes. The Bulls hold the edge against the Pistons during the regular season, beating them 4 games to 3. Anything can happen during the play-offs and the Bulls' confidence level has risen. We shall see... |
