MSNBC will no longer be simulcasting Imus' radio show on their TV station. His voice will still be going out over the air waves unless his radio station cans him. |

I never understood why Imus was simulcast anyway. It is not like he was so great to look at. I predict his radio show will be DOA as well. Can the AA community take credit for pressuring sponsors and others to get this creep off the air? If so, we do have the power to clean up OUR OWN houses. |

Seriously. I keep telling myself I'm wrong and lord knows I'm really hoping that I am. But the infamous line: "That's too much power for one niggerr to have" keeps running through my mind. And more & more it seems like too many Black men (and some Black women) are more envious of what went down than they are proud. Wasn't Malcolm X ultimately set up by some Blk Brothers who were also more envious than proud? A Black man just set the record for raising "an obscene amount of money" this early in a political campaign...ever. Another Black man said he'd take out one of the most influential media giants, and, though he wasn't the first to raise hell, in less than a week and with the help of others...he did. You'd think Black folks would be on cloud nine. |

Robynmarie, Robynmarie: "Can the AA community take credit for pressuring sponsors and others to get this creep off the air? If so, we do have the power to clean up OUR OWN houses." Indeed. But what the Imus issue proves is the most effective way to kill a snake is to severe it's HEAD. And this is what I've (futilely) tried to explain in the The Bytch Ho Problem thread concerning the companies that distribute and finance the more offensive aspects of hip-hop music/culture. There will ALWAYS be some fool Imus or 50 Cent willing to profit from appealing to what's base amongst us all. But when their so-called respectable, well-bred BACKERS are blamed and made to account for what those fools do, they're much less likely to see the light of day. Tonya, We can always count on you to blame, criticize or villify Black men for the evils committed by others. |

I never watched Don Imus, chrishayden. You're the one who thinks you're an expert on Imus. Now go change your diaper. You stink. |
