Why are do the Soul Train people continue awarding the Michael Jackson Award? Does that even instill pride anymore? Beyonce Leads Soul Train Nominations By PETER PRENGAMAN March 10, 2007 PASADENA, Calif. -- Beyonce was the woman to beat at the 21st Anniversary Soul Train Music Awards, leading the field with three nominations that included best female album for "B'Day." She also was set to compete during the Saturday night award show for best female single for "Irreplaceable" and for the Michael Jackson Award for best music video. Mary J. Blige had two nominations, one for best single for "Take Me As I Am," and the other for best female album for "The Breakthrough." On the male side, John Legend, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Yung Joc each were nominated for two awards. Legend, who won Soul Train Awards last year for best male album and single, was set to compete in those categories. "Once Again" was up for the best male album award, while "Save Room" was nominated for best male single. Brown also was hoping to take best male single for "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" and best male album for "Chris Brown." The teenager, who last year joked about fitting in studio time between basketball practice, was Soul Train's best new rap artist in 2006. One of this year's newcomers, Ne-Yo, was competing for best male single for "Sexy Love" and as best new artist. Yung Joc also was nominated for best new artist and best dance cut for "It's Goin' Down." The Isley Brothers Featuring Ronald Isley had nominations in both group categories, getting a nod for the single "Just Came Here to Chill" and "Baby Makin' Music" for best album. So did Gnarls Barkley, nominated for "Crazy" for single and "St. Elsewhere" for album. Omarion and LeToya were slated to co-host the awards ceremony at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. LeToya also was competing for best female single for "Torn." The show will air in syndication between March 17-24. The Soul Train Music Awards are sponsored by the syndicated music show "Soul Train" and celebrate artists in R&B, hip-hop and gospel music. Winners are determined by a group of radio-station professionals, talent managers and performers. http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/news/wire/sns-ap-music-soul-train-awards,0,1692982.story

I don't kknow who is also in the nominations category for 'best female singer' but I do like the song 'Irreplaceable' so good luck to Beyonce on that one! Though if Rihanna is anywhere in that list then I do hope she wins. Gotta rep' the islands |

I love Beyonce too. She's sweet and she's very talented, though not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
