I'm glad this whole award season is over because I was tired of listening to Jennifer's same ol befuddled, flustered speech, thankin the lord and expressing disbelief at winning. Hers is a true cinderella story and she should act like a princess instead of a lady-in-waiting. |

The name of the movie may be Dreamgirls - but recent rumors make it seem like a more apt title would be Jealousgirls.
But Beyoncé Knowles is trying as hard as she can to squash talk that she was jealous of her co-star throughout shooting.
“I knew that the character that I played wasn’t the star,” Knowles told reporters on Saturday about her Diana Ross-esque role of Deena Jones, compared to the juicier part of Effie White, portrayed by Jennifer Hudson. “She wasn’t the underdog. She didn’t have the struggle and the pain and the dramatic scenes that Effie had, and I was fine with that.”
But Beyonce just wanted to prove herself as an actress. After all, she’s already dominated the music world. As she’s not afraid to tell everyone.
“I’m already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing,” Knowles said. “I did this because I wanted people to know that I can act and I can play someone so different from myself.”
Okay. We can deal with conceit when it’s well-earned. But what about being jealous of the former American Idol contestant?
“It’s really unfortunate that everyone is saying I’m jealous of Jennifer. It hurts my heart because it’s so clichéd. They’re saying that I’m mad when I knew going into this that I was playing Deena,” said Knowles. “Because I’m a star they just automatically assume that I’m not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am.”
Did Beyonce mention she’s a star yet? More so than Vin Diesel, in case you were wondering.
However, the R&B singer did admit that she would have liked to have sung Effie’s song, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” a showstopper that, in large part, helped get Jennifer Holliday a Tony Award for best actress for the original 1981 Broadway version of Dreamgirls.
“I mean,” said Knowles, “I wish I could’ve gained 20 pounds and played Effie.”
Ohhh, snap! What’s next, saying Hudson is so fat she broke her leg and gravy poured out?
Ignore bitter Beyonce, Jennifer. Keep that chin, and weight, up. We don’t want you ever going Nicole Richie on us.

Many thanks to the success of "Dreamgirls" that Jennifer Hudson, who previously known as one of the finalists on the third season of the FOX talent-search television series American Idol, could earn more success. Not only the success of the hit movie brings her an Academy Award nomination, but also it earns her prestigious offers, naming one is appearing on the cover of fashion magazine Vogue.
Hudson will appear on the cover of the magazine's annual Power Issue next month, thus becoming the first African-American singer and the third black woman to appear on the cover of the publication, following in the footsteps of Oprah Winfrey and Halle Berry.
The pictures of Hudson, shot by the famous photographer Annie Leibovitz, were taken at Harlem's Apollo Theater in New York.

And all the fashion police gave a thumbs down to that awful metallic bolero Jennifer was wearing on the red carpet. And when interviewed on the red carpet, Beyonce sighed and said in all sincerity that Jennifer deserved to win an Oscar, that she really did a good job of portraying Effie. LMAO. Of course Jennifer was radiant and she earned her kudos, and is obviously turning into the poster girl for big girls, but there's so much malice evident in the gloating of those who are glad to see Jennifer steal some of Beyonce's thunder, hence my sniping. |

i totally agree with mzuri and cynique.
first of all-
im SO sick of listening to black folks, after they win something (see tony dungee after the superbowl), get on "center stage" and start giving everyone the "god speech".
if you believe in god fine (and im not saying i don't).
but can we please keep the "hitting people over the head with your god" speech to yourself.
when jen hudson was on stage she gave the appearence of a "rank amateur", who didn'y know how to "act" in front of a world wide viewing public.
i was a bit embarrassed for her.
jen hudson is also FAT.
i would do her, but there is nothing to be proud of, looking the way she does.
when jen hudson is 40 (and thats not old), she should be about 300 pounds.
finally, jennifer hudson is a ONE HIT MOVIE WONDER.
im sure she did a good job playing the "big, sassy, black woman-who ain't gonna take no mess", but after this "15 minutes of fame", its a WRAP!!!

as far as jennifer hudsons looks go and the coments about her dress being too tight....i think she's a nice shapeley woman and didnt see the dress as too tight.... yes she could stand to lose about 5 or 6 more pounds but i have to say she lookjed good on the stage and she carries her weight well....she has a nice figure even with the weight because most of her wieght is well proportioned. she reminds me a little bit of tocara on next top model...she was also a bit overweight but well proportioned....in the future i think she will probably lose more weight. |

Beyonce's slimmer and (by Eurocentric standards) prettier than Jennifer.
Jennifer's a better actress and (by ANY conceivable standard) better singer than Beyonce.
Advantage longterm to Jennifer.

it a bit arrogant to get up in front of people and start thanking "god" (whom everyone watching you might not believe in.
its "cookie-cutter" behavior on the part of many blacks WHENEVER they are awarded something, to get up there and start "crowing" about "god" (their god).
if these people are thankful to "god", they can thank him in their hearts/minds.
and many of these "black folks" don't just "thank god", they go into a "song and dance" about how god lead them to this point,blah,blah,blah.
its just sickening.
didn't christ say, when you pray be not as the hypocrites, who do so to be seen of men? but when thou pray go in closets where men cannot see (im paraphrasing)?
if these people are so "into god", don't "hit everyone over the head", about your god.
its kind of immature.
im sure that there are some of the other winners that believe in "god", but don't feel a compulsion to get up in front of everyone an proclaim how "god lead them to this point in their life.
abm, the point is that jennifer hudson DOES NOT look like beyonce.
people care about beyonce because she is who she is and looks the way she does.
jennifer hudson in NO WAY has any "longterm advantage" over beyonce. thats madness.
im not the biggest beyonce fan, but i am able to see that beyonce does have "star quality".
beyonce is not just prettier by "european standards", she prettier than jennifer hudson by any rational human standard.
maybe jennifer hudson is a better singer and/or actress than beyonce, but that does not give her ANY longterm advantage over beyonce.
im sure there are hundreds of females that are better singers than britney spears, and they will NEVER be the star britney is (was).
in a few years we will be having the "WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JENNIFER HUDSON" DISSCUSSION?
jennifer hudson will get to 300 pounds before beyonce.

well mzuri, i do think that jennifer hudson's breasts pushing up out of her dress is tacky.
i find jennifer hudson to be tacky overall (but i would do her).
jennifer hudson is just fat, kind of trashy, low class, and tacky.
actually beyonce is NOT yesterday's news, beyonce is probably the biggest female music star on the PLANET EARTH.

jennifer hudson has had her 15 (fat) minutes of fame.
beyonce will go on to make more multi-platinum albums, and more hit singles.

these white actresses were the "talk of the town" for about 5 minutes, then what?

i have many females in my family that are the same color as beyonce (if not lighter), i (nor have they) never have seen them as anything other than black women.

im my original post i said "relatively disease free", but i changed it because i thought i might catch some heat for saying that.
im just VERY into females.
there's nothing better than a sweet willing female, a bottle of some kind of liquor, and lots of time.
maybe ill start a thread about the PLEASURE of "cross-cultural" relations.
as a guy(doberman 23) who has agreed with my position about females of all races, im sure you could relate to my thoughts about certain females of different races.
man, some of these japanese females are SO dam cute. id love to lick their-well you get the point.
and don't get me started on the mexican females.

The other day at the Oscar's Beyonce voice was much better than Jennifer Hudson's. Sorry I gotta give credit where it's due. Due to her experience, Beyonce is a much more trained vocalist and knows how to control her breathing when she is singing--unlike Jennifer whose voice is shaky and just all over the place. Still, I think Jennifer has amazing potential but she seriously needs a vocal coach ASAP. |

Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce are quite different in the directions they are both headed. Beyonce is 'poppy' and more mainstream and marketable. Hudson is probably going to take the film route and if she does do music I bet it will be a bit more 'soulful'.
They are also very different women and attractive in their own ways. Though Lil_ze how you think that Beyonce doesn't look a little like a white woman is beyond me! She looks white because of her Mum and a lot of her features. |
