The Final Phase of Equality is Within Our Minds! ............

Press Release .....

By Pearl Jr.
Los Angeles Jan 22, 2007

I often hear people ask why a significant number of Blacks don't disseminate a lot of information to one another when that information promotes the Best Interest of Blacks. There have been some news shows and talk shows that discuss mental cleansing and other imperative knowledge that will surely promote Black upward mobility but many of them have been cancelled due to low viewers or subscribers.

Blatantly for the past 15 years (and beyond), I’ve noticed the media has been bombarding us with images and messages that intend to destroy the Black race. With rap crap and movies like “Menace to Society”, “Dead Presidents”, “Barbershop”, and all other Black gangsta movies, they always wrote in a Black activist character that was ridiculed and shunned away as if to mention Black upward mobility was to feed them doo-doo to eat.

I had gotten to the point that I avoided Black movies because I was so offended by the arrogance to promote Black self-hatred that I felt moved to do something about this bold attempt to destroy the entire Black race. Then I thought, why would I give money or spend time on something that tells me to harm myself and those that look like me? Like behave like a “ho” call women “bi-atches”, downplay the importance of a good man, and be on the side of the criminal and the murderer.

In recent years, I’d stopped watching many so-called Black shows/movies/music videos because I felt they were teaching me to hate myself, love other races more than my own, support the causes of others, forget a peaceful lifestyle is normal, or promote some type of family structure that didn’t promote a nuclear family—mother, father, and children. Furthermore, why would I give money to a Black male who thought of me and other Black women as if we are invisible trash and unworthy of his love just because we are Black like him? Why would I give him one cent of my hard earned dollars or spend one minute of my precious relax time supporting him when it’s obvious he feels that women like me are worthless? Well, high-profile brothas who think they are too good for me, my daughter, or any other valuable Black female, I vow to pretend you don’t exist, just like you negate to realize the Black race needs you and your power, influence and other resources. Too many of us Blacks are stifled to act due to a perceived inconvenience to participate in our upward mobility, fear, wanting to be accepted by others, and ignorance of believing to help ourselves is to hurt ourselves.

There always seems to be a bully hanging around angrily telling Black people to quiet it down with phrases like: “I agree but so what”, “it doesn’t matter”, “what’s the use, “you can’t change it no way”, “no, that ain’t it”, “she/he gets on my nerves”, “God will fix it”, “stop being such a conspiracy theorists”, or simply arguing just for argument sake. All of these phrases only promote ignorance and destroys confidence of the good intended people to spread much-needed awareness. These bullies are always hating on good people and are very confused with defining what is right or wrong, moral or immoral, and plainly talk out of the side of their head with no supporting facts; they just use a very threatening tone.

I do believe that most Black people are no longer accepting the bully’s threat. Spreading awareness is proving to be effective because there is simply too much evidence to support that Black people are under attack with the media leading the way. For those of us, who run across this type of bully (you know the Rosie O’Donnell type) we must shut them down and shun them, ignore them, or better yet, try to re-educate them that positive words and good images aren’t going to hurt them.

I do understand that many Black people are in a very precarious position—the dilemma is a tough one for a variety of reasons. Most Black people work in a (majority) White work force and we have to get along with other people in order to earn a living; therefore Blacks cannot be filled with opposition towards Whites or non-Blacks all the time. There are some non-Black people that are so-called friends of Black people's, and many Black people don't want to know something because then they will have to make a decision to change their attitude, get angry, speak up often, or may have to participate in an activity that they deem NOT to be in their personal best interest. Let’s be real, being on White people's bad side doesn't help pay the bills in an immediate sense. A lot of Black people feel like helping other Blacks, including themselves and their children, will put them in a position to be hurt some way some how by non- black people.

Too many of us are in fear of loving ourselves. Historically, to display love for one another was one of the ultimate no-nos, because in loving ourselves, it motivates one to learn about oneself and that would indeed include figuring out that too many White people are doing us harm and that would halt the progress of White Supremacy and demote Black inferiority. Being Black and proud is against the very foundation of White power. Too many Black's aren't seeking power or fairness, just survival. This must change!

Furthermore, too many Black women still think like Mammies who love White children more than their own. For example, BW are shown on TV all the time consoling White women (that's hilarious as if we don't have enough pain and suffering for ourselves, we have to have enough strength to handle our own struggles and then put them aside when White women have hurt feelings). Check it out, it's everywhere on TV, especially on reality shows. Watch America's Next Top Model, and other talk/reality shows and you'll see what Oprah was doing (and still has to do in smaller quantities) and Tyra Banks is being bred to do. It's not that either one of these women leave Black people out of the equation, but nearly every subject matter is from a White perspective foundation. I know Oprah is changing and I'm so proud of her, but TYRA is being set up to replace Oprah as the new Mammie to mainly White people and issues that are outside of Black progress as a whole.

Also, I hated the movie, “The Green Mile” with Tom Hanks. Remember the Big Black man (Michael Clark Duncan) with the magical healing powers that was just so touching for White folks as if Blacks didn't have enough issues for him to be working overtime to heal our many ailment; he had to go and help a sick White woman and some White female children. I guess Blacks exist to help White people and we don't have any problems of our own that need to be corrected. From the White point of view, we are just waiting for an opportunity to help them; and to help ourselves offends them because when a Black person says something positive about Blacks or defends Blacks, watch White folks shun and walk away. Too many White people believe wholeheartedly that (talented) Black people exists for their purposes. You can see it with a significant number of resourceful Black men with money married to non-Black women.

Also, did anyone catch the manipulation of White woman worth and value in the movie, “Crash”? Remember at the end of the movie, the bitchy White woman (Sandra Bullock) slipped and sprained her ankle and her husband came a running, but the Black woman (Thandie Newton) almost died in a terrible car accident and was rescued by the White officer that sexually violated her, didn’t reconcile with her Black husband (Terrence Howard) until after the White man took care of his White wife, the Black husband thought it was snowing, and every damn thing else happened, and then he was finally told about his wife almost dying as an after thought and not a significant element to reconciliation, which is what the entire movie was all about. I waited so long for the Black husband to be told about his wife’s terrible near death day, that I was on the edge of my seat, waiting and waiting for him to console her. It was all very anti-climatic.

Black women are under massive attack via the media. You know, I'm laughing right now, because I can see so clearly all the mental tricks that are being played on Black people. Our degradation is being fed massively via the media, and then repeated over and over and over again, so to cement high-value for White people and very low-value for Black American citizens who sacrificed to build this country. It's a stone cold trip and very unappreciative of our contributions.

Many people, White or Black don't even realize how influential the media is with disseminating racist messages. Most of us think movies write themselves and produce themselves, or just believe it's just that way, just because.

God has finally showed up. If you believe in karma in unison with the work of human beings who speak and educate through words from the spirits up above, the music industry is finally getting their just due punishment. Rap crap has destroyed an entire generation of mainly Black people. Well, for the first two weeks of 2007, music sales have been the lowest in the history of soundscan music sales. The music industry had been warned for years with declining sales to change their destructive ways and the powers that decide have ignored the calls of the American buying public. Now, music is losing money hand over fist. Just to make a comparable, according to soundscan the number 1 album for the first week of 2006 sold over 120,000 units in one week, in 2007 during the same period, the number one album sold half of that (around 60,000 units).

I do congratulate “Dreamgirls” for being the number one album for the past two weeks and I’m so proud of the American public for making a movie that features a Black male and Black female love relationship, “Stomp the Yard” is the number one movie two weeks in a row.

We are on a roll Black folks, let’s never give up until our neighborhoods are safer and more prosperous, and then, don’t quit because maintenance is another duty.

You see, once we stop negative messages from infiltrating our many mindsets repetitively and widespread, then all these grassroots’ and governmental organizations can go to work to accomplish what they set out to do, which is promote the upward mobility of the Black race, i.e., promoting education, ending gang violence, halting Black on Black homicides, lowering the number of Black inmates, lowering crime, reducing out-of- wedlock birthrates, better health statistics, and most importantly improving the number of intact Black relationships and nuclear families.

It took two decades to destroy nearly all the progress attained during the civil rights movement— the biggest jump out of poverty for Blacks was between 1965 and 1985, so we must stay on top of voting with our dollars. We don’t spend any money with any company or on any person that doesn’t serve BLACKS’ BEST INTEREST, period.

It’s really just that simple, we must continue to vote and speak with our dollars. This way, we don’t put our jobs in jeopardy, we don’t have to go to work and look at other races of people with anger, we don’t have to confront the system, we just spend our money more wisely.

I’ve dedicated my life towards the upward mobility of the Black race, and I can only afford to continue my God-given pursuit with the support of the people, so be sure to order a copy of my new book, Black Women Need Love, Too! Also, buy some Black Women Need Love, too clothing that is featured on my website: www.BlackWomenNeedLoveToo.com as well.

Oh, don’t be fooled by the trick that tells us since a few of us are winning, we are all winning—trick bag. Heck, Frederick Douglas was famous during slavery and he was quasi-free and born a slave. You see, since Condolessa Rice has such a high ranking government job, there are less Blacks in government. And don’t lose sight that Barak Obama is the ONLY (one out of 100) Black senator in the US Senate. During reconstruction, there were more and that was in the late 1800’s. Our goal is upward mobility for the majority of Blacks, and not just a selected few.

Much love my Black race family members. Black Women Need Love, too is available on amazon.com

THE FINAL PHASE OF EQUALITY IS WITHIN OUR MINDS!

Very, very good article. Though a lot of what she calls "upward mobility" I just call plain ol' common sense, lol. But I boycott most "Black Movies" like her and I don't watch or listen to anything that demeans us in any way. The problem IS, however, that most black people are afraid of making the necessary changes, mainly because they fear what whites will do and think, as she said. And so they rebuke important information out of terror really. It's true.
