im sure she was very good in "dreamgirls" (i will be seeing it soon. but there is an unfortunate reality in hollywood (not just for black actresses). one day you are the "darling of the industry", and the next day you are forgotten. im mean jennifer hudson played the role of a "hefty" black member of a girl group. and im sure she did a good job. but what will the next step for her be? i mean will she be playing roles like angelina jolie in "lara croft- tomb raider"? i don't think so. will she be cast in "love stories" by hollywood like kate winslet or cameron diaz? i don't think so. REMEMBER- mira sorvino? the entire industry was "crowing" about her performance in "mighty aphrodite". she WON an oscar award for it. and then what happened? she drifted into film obscurity. im not sayin jennifer hudson won't be able to make a living in film, but will she be able to reach the heights of the industry? i really doubt it. she does not have the physical (body wise) type that appeals to hollywood. lets be honest, she is not going to be the next LARA CROFT. and im not saying that many actresses (black or white) will get to the "angelina jolie" level. but lets be honest in saying that there is a "glass ceiling" for black actresses in hollywood. kimberly elise is an amazingly talented actress. but she does not get the roles or recognition she deserves. i won't even get into how there are NO mainstream films that deal with black romantic relationships. i will start a seperate thread dealing with this GARBAGE that takes place in hollywood. im not trying to "rain on" jennifer hudson's parade. and i wish her the best of luck. but lets not get our hopes up thinking she's going to be the next "thing" in hollywood. it seems like the hollywood "it girl" positions are reserved for actresses like scarlett johannsen (who i personally like). this is a sad but true reality of the industry. especially for black actors and actresses. |

she probably wont go far in terms of acting because first off shes a black female and also because she's "overweight" and dark skinnned.....i dont think hollywood will let her go too far as far as acting goes. but i do think she can possibly go a long way with her voice...that is if her voice is able to overpower the superficial value that america places on looks. |

i cant really say i agree with that...i would like to think that ambition alone can overcome racism, sexism and colorism but i doubt it for now...maybe in later years that will hold true. |

Jennifer needs Hollywood studio backing, that and a STRONG marketing machine. if she plays her cards right, she'll get the alliances necessary to solidify roles written with her in mind. This makes all the difference. She's got many powerful people rooting for her. Forget Lara Croft, she can (and must) potentially create an entirely new market, and that's what it's about at the end of the day. Johannsen and Jolie roles are obviously not for her, nor should she strive for them. That would be career suicide for her. |

Does anybody read the other threads? I just told you that Jennifer Hudson has been cast in "The Jackie Robinson Story" ----as the baseball player's wife. It's a very meaty role with no singing (a role that Clive Davis didn't want her to take--because there's no singing--but she screen tested and blew the director Thomas Carter away and got the part). She also lost 15 pounds if anybody's noticed to get that part...and says that she plans to lose more weight. This girl is NOT DUMB. Ok. Of course, before they even start shooting, Hudson will have picked up an OSCAR and will have a CD out in the summer. And I can definitely see "The Jackie Robinson Story" being a hit film with a director like Thomas Carter (2 of his films grossed over $200 million). IMO, she seems to be on the smart track. And I'm sorry---but Jennifer Hudson is not a bad looking woman AT ALL. Why aren't such comments ever made about PLAIN looking women ie. JoJo, Fergie, Joss Stone and Christina Augilara. Those are some boring ass women with NO APPEAL, NO CHARISMA--no cheekbones, no style, no originality, but they WHITE.

And before anybody runs in her to trumpet Christina Aguilera---please note that this BLONDE, BLUE EYED MEXICAN CHICK with the supersonic BIG BORING ASS VOICE hasn't managed to score one truly big breakout hit yet. And she's been around going on a decade. She certainly hasn't even scratched the SHADOW of Whitney, Celine and Mariah---but because she's NOT BLACK---the whole industry gives her chance after chance, because she's got this BIG BORING ASS VOICE that she doesn't know what to do with. Her material is lousy. But she gets chance after chance. Jennifer Holliday (the original Dreamgirl) got no such breaks--and though this is controversial to say.... I'd rather look at big fat pretty-faced Jennifer Holliday all day than look at GRUNGE dirty ring-lipped smudge-MOAN-stank Christina Aguilera's BORING ASS for 5 minutes.

From another thread (I wasn't here): ABM: Kola, What does Beyonce have to sell to chicks and queers? Wigs, sequin dresses and make-up tips? KOLA: No...ABM. She could sell herself to WOMEN fans with "vulnerability". She could choose roles where SHE is the one who is the underdog--play a factory worker who dances at night to raise money for her cancer-stricken mother's operation.....play a schoolteacher trying to figure out if one of the students is her child she gave away for adoption. Play a prostitute's daughter who gets shot in a drive-by and loses her sight. She's whisked away to a handsome upper class black eye specialist (it's Will Smith) and they fall in love as he restores her sight and teaches her how to be "refined" and accept herself. She could play roles that mirror the "common woman's" struggle (as glamorous Diana Ross did to such perfection--for instance the struggling secretary to a bossy white woman who secretly designs clothes and POOF rises up in the world to become supermodel MAHOGANY---those are the film fantasies that women can appreciate and relate to.) When the music blares at the end and she's SUFFERED HORRIBLY to land in the arms of that dreamy prince for the last kiss/last scene----women and gays alike will swoon and cheer. And it's women and gays, ABM, who make a female star. BUT NO---Beyonce takes the DIVA role ("Dreamgirls") or the ABSURD role ("Goldmember", "Carmen"). I wish I could manage that girl for 5 good years, I would TOTALLY remodel her career---the world would be at her feet.

Kola, There's one GLARING weakness in what you present here: Beyonce's ACTING talent and skill, or, specifically, her woeful LACT thereof. Beyonce has YET to demonstrate even a modest degree of acting competency. Nor has she demonstrated the desire to WORK to become such. And the lure of her music career and the glamour girl, pop diva stuff, media goddess stuff that accompanies it will continue to diminish her chances of becoming a fine actress. Conversely, her predecessors like Cher, Diana Ross and Barbara Streisand were not only MARVELOUS actresses but all had great and unique screen PRESENSE. As pretty as she is, I've YET to see Beyonce light-up the celluloid. Honestly...Have you? |

Brownbeauty, Not saying Simon Cowe aint racist, at all. He was, however, willing to take a chance that I doubt a black man (like Randy) would: he put A LOT of black black women on his show. Had Jay-Z been the producer of "American Idol," it takes little to figure out how all of the black female contestants would have looked. And I doubt it would’ve been much different with Puffy producing. Mixed women--"women of African decent"--are popular in Hollywood right now because of all the exposure they get in hip-hop videos. I’ve always said that the Black man can promote a bag of rocks because if you look at "pop culture" it has been the black man's style that has dominated it since the Blues. Yet they haven't the guts to promote Black-Blk women until white men do it first. |

Tonya, I've watched a fair amount of the American Idol shows. And I have not witnessed Randy be any less inclined to promote talented darkerskinned singers than Simon. Actually, Simon often appear much more concerned about how the contestants LOOK than does Randy. |

ABM, "about Beyonce"----POINT TAKEN. (and by the way---HI KING!!! ) But that's why I said that I wish I could get hold to her, because all she really needs is to be "directed/worked/molded" into something viable. She DOES have "something" there. I'm not suggesting she could ever be a Ross or a Cher---but I still say that she could do the film roles that Ann Margaret and Rita Hayworth did and be a very big star. I agree with you about her image, as I stated, it's not ENDEARING her to women and gays----only to MEN. And very soon, the men will move on and she will have no audience left.

I personally can't stand Randy and I definitely believes he's "typical" (mean=colorstruck All American)....but ABM is not a woman so he can't detect it, because he's not paying attention. SIMON on the other hand....is not colorstruck. Though he may be "racist" at his "constitution"-----he isn't partial to the lighter blacks, he's the type of White man who appreciates what IN HIS MIND is the "authentic, the real McCoy" (just as so many Light Skinned BLACK men do).....and Tonya's 100% right. If Puffy, Jay Z or even Will Smith were in charge of that show, we would NEVER have gotten to see Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson and barely Tamara Grey. When Denzel Washington campaigned to get Fantasia the role of "Effie" in Dreamgirls (he directed her screen test himself and agreed to do a "cameo" in the film if she was cast)----he stated that he and his wife had rooted/been hooked to AI from the very beginning---because they couldn't believe a girl like Fantasia had been turned into a nationwide television star. And as Cicely Tyson and Angela Bassett have lamented in the past---it's WHITE MEN who most often "annoint" a dark skinned black woman---then after that (as Bassett said on Charlie Rose)---the Spike Lee's and the John Singletons suddenly start making up parts for them to play. But before white men cast Bassett as a "romantic lead" in low budget films like "Critters 4", she couldn't convince black directors that a woman who looked like her could play the "main squeeze". Sorry, ABM, but this is just a GLARING fact in black Hollywood. And I definitely WOULD say that WHITE MEN are vastly more appreciative of dark skinned beauty than black men are---and the reason is----white men ALREADY HAVE "good hair" and "white skin".

Ladies (Howdy Kola!!), Randy may be ALL of what you say with respect to how he privately conduct his personal and professional affairs. But I have NOT witness these alleged color biases reflected on American Idol. From what I've seen of Randy on AI, if the sista can sing he will back her up. While if the sista does NOT have a particular marketable (ala Beyonce) look, Simon is more apt (than Randy) to give her a hard time. Though, to be fair, he's inclined to do the same to presumeably less marketable WHITE female contestants. And I don't know how fair it is to assert what Jay Z, Diddy or Will would do were they producers of AI. Because the demands on them would be quite different from those they currently have. For example, Jay Z could NOT be able to get away with trying to pawn off a low-talent like Brianna on a show that require her to sing VARIOUS musicial genres on a LIVE singing show. Dayam how she looks, that shyt would NOT work. Lastly, if I recall correctly, Spike Lee's and John Singleton's very FIRST films featured fairly DARKSKINNED (though, I guess we'd have to reach some consensus on what qualifies as being DARKSKINNED these days) Black women (ALL of the women featured in Boyz n The Hood were brown-2-darkskinned.). So HOW can you claim to know what they would have done were it not for what some White producers and casting agents had previously done? Btw: Does SIMON have a darkskinned Black wife? |

IMO, in spite of what seems to be a pathological aversion to Beyonce on this board, in the real world, her first-name-only recognition and her "bootylicious" catch phrase are household words synonymous with being a high profile pop princess. She is not an award-winning actress, but a Grammy-winning recording star and video hottie and the girlfriend of a famous Rapper-turned-record-producer-zillionaire. Her records sell and she is a zizzling performer, much in demand. That is her niche in the show business paradigm. She is a glamour gal. Jennifer Hudson, cinderella girl that she is does not have charisma. She is not polished; she is has the "gurlfriend" vibe, plodding along, huffing and puffing, fanning her face with her hand, rolling her eyes, with her mute, non-descript boyfriend in tow. She is a better than average singer, and playing the reserved long-suffering wife of Jackie Robinson, a picture that will not be a blockbuster will not bloster her leading-lady aspirations. With Clive Davis in her corner she stands a chance of putting out some best-selling albums but her longevity remains to be seen. Reuben Studdard's career is on the skids and Fantasia's popularity has leveled off. Sho-biz is fickle, and winning an Oscar can be a ticket to nowhere. Randy Jackson, for all of his visibility on American Idol, is a wanna-be, name dropper who does not buck the tide. If we can use his wife as a yardstick, we know what his preference in women is. |

Tonya, the "Jens" of this world are like black people living in 1938. Doors that were supposedly kicked in (see the movie "Dorothy Dandridge") were really never even knocked on. It's heartbreaking and I know one thing--I will make it a SPECIAL EFFORT to support Jennifer on G.P., just because I know how it is to have people find ANY and EVERYTHING wrong with you no matter what you do---you just wrong----and I hate how she emits so much love FOR ALL, but gets little in return. And Cynique--I for one have always defended Beyonce and Halle both and always supported both, even if I do consider them "niggerstock". They still my girls.

Tonya, humans need somebody to LOOK DOWN on---and for the black community, certain members have always been the comfortable "scape goat". The reaction you're seeing is very similar to WHITES who are annoyed and hostile simply because you're pulling up the rug and pointing out some dirt underneath it. They KNOW this shit is real, because they see it just like we do. But they don't want to CARE or acknowledge, because then they have to DO SOMETHING. It's like my short story in "Long Train" where the Black MOTHER shouted at her daughter to shut up---because she could sense that her daughter was about to reveal that the white boy had raped her. The MOTHER didn't want to know---because then she would have to ACT, she would have to protect her daughter. Tonya...all my life people have told me that I'm crazy, imagining things, that I just want to "start trouble" where there ain't none. I got to the point where a part of me honestly is crazy....to keep from killing somebody. To keep from crying...I try to laugh. Sometimes, when I get deep into thought about the way things really are---I just cry and cry by myself at night. Because I can't believe that instead of "overcoming" racism----we BECAME it. Then there's the pain of people telling you that you're hallucinating about what you seen/saw/see. Women like you and I---who dare to call the shit in public out in the open----are setting ourselves up to be HATED, spit at, cussed at, bombarded with the photo images that Shakspir and even "Mzuri" post (jigaboo images) as their way of saying: "STAY IN YOUR PLACE". People say I'm "eccentric", "weird". Hell, I'm shellshocked. If only they knew where this pain comes from. What I went through before I was even done get my first layer of skin on my bones. What my grandmother did to me--I wouldn't do to a dog. But people could give a shit really. It's meaningless until some SLIGHT happens to JoJo or Fergie. Then it's worthy of a whole hour discussion on "BULEMIA", "ANOREXIA"---when it's white girls pain---we must acknowledge and talk about it. But when it's black girls--it's all in our minds. "Child, shut up with that mess!"

There's no doubt about it Jennifer is someone who appeals to sentimentality. Many women identify and empathize with her. There is certainly an argument that could contend that Jennifer's being so down to earth may just be what will cement her popularity and boost her potential. I purposely prefaced my post with an "IMO". I don't "hate" Jennifer any more than all you folks who insist that you don't "hate" Beyonce and Halle when you so obviously do. Some people on this board seemed to have a problem when others turn the tables on them. Bottom line is that in show business the road to success is paved with broken dreams, but it also the venue of overnight success and stardom if Fate is kind. And - I actually don't give a damn about the future of either Beyonce or Jennifer since they ain't paying my bills. snort. |

Kola, I don't have a problem with either Halle or Beyonce. I just think their hype greatly outstrips their talent. And their hype is based on some fairly OBVIOUS reasons. Otherwise, I wish them the best. And I hope that includes their eventually becoming worthy of all the press they receive. Now regarding Jennifer Hudson: * She's a more talented singer and actress. * She's appears to be more of a REAL person. * And babygirl's from CHICAGO!!! So I'm gonna root A LOT MORE for Jennifer. Not just because of what she is as a individual performer and a person. But because of what (I think) she represents for a lot of OTHER Black women. |

"Btw: Does SIMON have a darkskinned Black wife?" Simon likes Black and multiracial women. His ex girlfriend (a darkskin Black woman) was a pop singer that he managed back in the 80s. Yawn. Beyonce is not up for anything else and very unlikely to get an Oscar nomination so there's no occasion to root for her. |

Kola, Look. My deal with Beyonce is she's gotten EVERY CONCEIVABLE opportunity ANY female performer - Black, White, Yellow and Orange - should ever expect to get over the last 10 years. She's gotten ALL the magazine covers. All the doctored up musical production. Choice acting roles. Hell. Beyonce's sang not one but THREE songs at the Oscars a couple years ago. And they even let her sing one of the songs in some wierd Texan dialect of French (My wife STILL shakes her her head and winces about that.). All I'm really saying is let's let some OTHER sistas - like Jennifer Hudson - get at least SOME of that stage and screen time. |

Kola, that post was deep. I hear you. Cynnique, I own 2 of Beyonce's CDs. If I didn't like her--trust me--I wouldn't even own one. I DO NOT support artist I don't agree with politically. Though I think Beyonce's image is unhealthy for young Black women, I appreciate her spirit. She was one of the first women to say it's alright to be "bootylicious." That's counts for alot in my book. And J-Hud is more than just sentimental to some women. The girl is beautiful and she is talented. She should be given all her propers without apology - to Beyonce or anyone else. |

Just because you don't think Paula Abdul is atrractive, doesn't mean there are not a lot of men who do, Brownbeauty. And banging somebody for a short-term fling isn't like having a long-term relationship. And how do you know it isn't rumor that Simon openly dated multi-racial and black women. His biography is in rotation on the "E" cable channel and I'll have to check it out to see if all of these statements of "fact" and pictures without captions have "merit." |

And that's the point, Tonya....Jennifer IS beautiful, and so many of these women just can't see it. They don't want to. They might as well be confederate widows...that's why I throw their wrinkly red asses down the stairs and keep on stepp'n. FACT OF THE MATTER----no one will ever understand black women's "pain" and "anger" no matter how you explain, spell it out, cry it out----they don't want to understand. So you might as well just be a fu ck'n bi tch any damn way. No matter how good a black woman is---something's wrong with you anyway so I don't even try to defend myself anymore. Just do one thing-------LIVE YOUR LIFE.

Well, Tonya, seemed to me like a lot of people were gloating and taking great satisfaction is Beyonce's being reduced to a nonentity in "Dream Girls" and I never really heard anybody say they were proud that Halle had won an Oscar. But that's OK. Nobody has to justify their allegiences. |

Well, there are people who have said right on this board, that Jennifer was just playing herself, being a neck-workin, hand-on-her hips sista, something which didn't required a lot of acting. And the members of the Academy liked Halle's acting enough to award her with an Oscar, so there you have it. Just depends on your view point. |

Nafisa_goma Kola Spoof - I have told you umpteen times now to keep my name out of your mouth. And no, I didn't read your tired ass post, I searched this thread to see if I had posted in it. I haven't ever posted any "jigaboo" pix other than posting pix of your AuntJemimaLookingAss. You are the one who posts images of naturally dark complexioned Black women who have been "enlightened" to appear more white like. So it is you yourself who reinforces the notion that light skin is better and superior to dark skin. Not me. Keep it real please. And by the way, I don't suffer from any inferiority complex like you do. I love myself. Thank you.

Which is why Jennifer Hudson is being put into the wrong slot. What she is really a role model for are hefty buxom woman who've had to take a back seat to svelte statuesque women. She is not an authentic paragon. |

Cynnique I don't know what you call dark-skinned but I consider myself dark-skinned and I'm aJ-Hud's complexion. Is she very dark? No. She's no Alec Wek but she is indeed dark-skinned. As well The Oscars and Golden Globe are only backseats in your neck of the woods. And who said she’s a role model for any one type person?? She’s an individual, a superstar. Why do you keep trying to put her in a box? And a fat one at that. Stop hatin! |

Oh come on, Tonya. On this board, what is implicit in all of this adulation of Jennifer is that unlike Beyonce she is not a "creehole red bone". She is a role model for little dark skin girls to look up to because they never have anyone to emulate in the media. The other buzz is that she makes heavier women feel good about themselves. She has almost been cast as the physical anti-thesis to Beyonce and Halle but she really isn't as once again we get in this semantic bind when it comes to shades. Dark skin is relative. Jennifer is darker than Beyonce, but the authetic phrenotype you and others tout is much darker than Jennifer. And like all of the other divas you put down, she's sporting a weave not a natural coif. And I bring this up only because colorism is an ongoing controversy on this board and it's like Jennifer is the poster girl for the "cause" when she actually doesn't fit the mold. You can admire and elevate whomever you choose but just get real about where you are coming from. |

libralind2, the point i was trying to make by bringing up "lara croft", was to attempt to ask rhetorically what type of roles could jennifer hudson could ACTUALLY be cast in. it was not a question of whether or not jennifer hudson would want to be cast in a "lara croft" like role. but to compare the kinds of roles that white actresses routinely are cast in, and the type of roles that jennifer hudson could POTENTIALLY be cast in. and to be truthful, what type of roles could jennifer hudson be cast as "sista with attitude" "wife of negro male" "hefty soul singer" after that i really don't see any other types of roles (lara croft for example)for jennifer hudson. we all know hollywood does not make love stories for black people. so how many kinds of roles could she really be cast in? sadly, i don't think it's too many.

Mzuri, Smart Ass. I'm going to prove to you that I can look just like that "airbrushed" Pam Grier photo. And imagine...she was 15 years younger than I am NOW in that picture. I can do that EASILY. I've always resisted glam-photos because then they won't give me my props as a serious literary writer. It was bad enough I felt compelled to make an "anthropological point" with my breasts. So I never would do Hollywood GLAM-shots. That's WHY I do polaroids and no makeup. But I can easily do those type of pictures and look like that. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW.

Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go,” he said. Source: Atlanta Gossip (AG)

BB123, If BEYONCE is a Hollywood outcast then all the OTHER sistas in Tinsel Town may as well give it up their glitter dreams and apply for gigs at WalMart. |

LOL Her father is an asshole. Not winning the Golden Globe is a big blow to him and his daughter's ego. I wonder how Jennifer Hudson feels about that comment.. |

I'm just shocked that Beyonce honestly thought she had a chance of winning.... ...and MERYL STREEP won. Just being nominated in there with Streep should have been a major red light. The ONLY REASON the studio is running Jennifer Hudson in the "Supporting" category is because they know she can't possibly beat Helen Mirren's performance in "The Queen". Beyonce's father is DEFINITELY no Berry Gordy. He was a dumb ass just to have let her take such a role in the first place.

I think the role as Deena was perfect for Beyonce because she is just like the character--one dimensional, harmless and boring. |

Matty Knowles needs to sit his azz down somewhere. Beyonce is like on/in.....EVERYTHING. We're bombarded with Beyonce DAILY; whether in music videos, hair color commercials, gossip, etc. we are constantly being made aware of her presence. Her...father, with his ignit, self-righteous azz needs to stop the bullshytting. She didn't win because her acting abilities are mediocre at best; it has nothing to do with bureaucratic good old boys system because in that system, Beyonce is "an honorary" white anyway. As long as she's rocking a tacky, lace front, SANDY BLONDE wig and smiling like a damn coon infront on the cameras, Bead-a-bead gone be aiight! NEXT!

What Ever Krusty Kola!!! PAM GRIER would look better than you if she were a hundred-and-seventy-five-years-old, bald headed, no teeth and flat chested. If you'll notice in the pics above, PAM GRIER doesn't need to expose herself - as if people wouldn't know she was stacked unless she did so. PAM GRIER has aspects that you are sorely lacking: CLASS, STYLE, SOPHISTICATION, INTELLIGENCE, ELEGANCE, CHARISMA, SAVOIR FAIRE, SAVOIR VIVRE - things of which you are clueless PAM GRIER is beautiful in all ways, not just on camera. Don't prove it to me that you can look like an airbrushed PAM GRIER, prove it to your own self. You're the only one that gives a !!!

BB123, BB123: "I wonder how Jennifer Hudson feels about that comment.." I figure Jennifer luxuriates in the thought of when she WON'T have to be so closely associated with Beyonce World. Kola, Kola: "I'm just shocked that Beyonce honestly thought she had a chance of winning...." No you're not. You CAN'T be. All you've got to do is witness what's gone down over the last 10 years and, as crazy as it seems to the REST of us, those kinds of delusions of granduer make PERFECT sense to THEM. The Knowles would tell you "Fuhk a motherfuhking MERYL STREEP and the 11 Oscar nominations that B*tch stroll in here with! Go BEY!!!!!" Really. I'm all for stumping for Black foks getting more opportunties in La La Land. But dude must be dropping some brand NEW kind of acid if he thinks HIS kid's getting a raw deal. Hell. There are MILLIONS of WHITE chicks all over the country who are wondering Who the hell that Black (Starts with a 'B') is fuhking and blowing to get the kinds of gigs and press that SHE'S gettin'? Hell. Beyonces so feted and treated in the media, she's beginning to entered that rarified world of Jackie Onassais and Princess Di, where a chick get's favorable press and treatment just for farting and scratching her a$$ properly. |

Pam Grier always exposed herself what are you talking about Mzuri? That was one naked woman in evey movie Hell my mama wouldnt let me go see "Coffee" because of all that nude scens of Pam Grier from her young days. If you actually put Pams real face like how she appears on that show "The L Word" next to Kola I actually think Kola Boof has a prettier face than Pam Grier

Thanks so much, Enchanted. Mzuri, however, looks at everything through a jaundiced eye. Which is why the Cyclops won't post her own damned picture while she puts down so many others who are prettier than HER (like me).

Un-Enchanted - thanks for the comments from the peanut gallery. I said that PAM GRIER DOESN'T NEED TO EXPOSE HERSELF. Her being naked in a movie is irrelevant to the point I'M TRYING TO MAKE. COMPRENDE????

Kola Spoof - The reason that I don't post my pix (as if it's any of your concern or as if I owe you an explanation) is because I'm a private citizen who wishes to remain so. And I don't need to post pix of my tits, face and ass on a PUBLIC DISCUSSION FORUM in order to validate myself unlike some people who lack self-respect, self-worth, self-esteem, self-love and sound judgment. But if you'd like to delude yourself into believing that you are prettier than me, or pretty at all, then be my guest.

No, Brownbeauty, "DEENA" is not the perfect role for Beyonce---because a true FEMALE STAR would never play a role that is essentially "window dressing" to a meatier role (Effie White). Berry Gordy would have drop-kicked Diana Ross's natural ass if she had said she wanted to take a role in a project where it was WRITTEN IN BLACK INK that someone else was going to be able to OUT-SHINE her. Gordy never allowed Diana Ross to appear anywhere in public where she could be OUT-SHINED. Do you realize he had her ass trained how to GET INTO and OUT OF a car? How to wave properly--how to tilt her head at 45 angle when answering questions and being photographed at the same time? She could never play back up to somebody else. THAT IS WHY, as a career-move, this is a stupid role for BEYONCE. The part of Deena Jones ALSO suggests that she's Diana Ross, a back-stabber who sold out her girls. BEYONCE already has enough of that image in her real life--so she's not winning new fans here. This film is not helping her career at all, Brownbeauty. The more Jennifer Hudson racks up awards and accolades, the more Beyonce looks like a glorified "back up singer". Her father should be HORSE-WHIPPED! for not seeing that this was the only way things could have turned out. Didn't he see the fu kking play on broadway!? Effie White sings the 3 best songs in the whole damned show and has a bigger voice! Beyonce gets to do one good song. It's Effie White's movie!

Did Beyonce's father forget that Halle and Whoopie have won Golden Globes, not to mention Jennifer? Like Isaiah Washington, he needs to stop making public statements. All their comments serve to do is to make them look foolish. And thanx, Mzuri, for the link. Anika Noni Rose is the third member of the Dream Girls trio who has been totally ignored. |

Honestly. When Pam Grier first hit the scene I was so into checking out her T&A she probably was about 3 or 4 years into the height of her movie career before I could probably recognize her if I passed her on the streets. Chick had a rack that was just SCREAMING for me to grab a big ol' plate of Oreo cookies. |

You know what Un-Enchanted? Why don't you stop trying to engage me with your clueless dimwitted dumbfoundedness. You are boring me now. PAM GRIER IS A BLACK SUPERSTAR. Kola Spoof is not. For obvious reasons, there will be more pix of PAM GRIER in the public domain than there are pix of Kola Spoof, which Kola Spoof spams this forum with. Does that answer your question???

The real answer MZURI...or should I say MZ.Muddpuppy ...is that you're just a jealous Shrew. So you pick and whine and knit pick some more, because YOUR 50 year old SNOT-Yellow YENTL look'n ass ---and don't forget you described your short height and prune-sized tits for us already ...ain't on a level with Kola and Pam. And I'm sorry, bi tch, but I've seen Pam Grier in person, and though she looks DAYUMMMMED GOOD for her age ---I really do agree with those who find our beauty comparable and similar. They're right. Whether jealous dog TICKS like you have been burned off, picked or not. So Eat shit and lower the lid when you're finished. We all know bi tches like U.
