I like Denzel, Don Cheadle, Jeffrey Wright and Forest Whitaker. I also like George Clooney and Brad Pitt not just because they are good looking but they have both showed some acting chops as of late. I can't stand Adam Sandler. I have no favorite female actresses. |

It's hard to choose favorites. I guess Samuel Jackson and Andre Braugher for the men. I don't really have any favorite Black actresses. Can't none of them really act, in my opinion. I like the old classic actresses like Bette Davis, Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe. Dorothy D was wonderful, too bad she only had that one major role in Carmen Jones. I love that movie. I like to watch the old black and whites. Alfred Hitchcock movies and all of that. |

I love the black and white classics (Mildred Pierce, Maltese Falcon, Notorious, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, et al) also. Especially the Sci Fi's (Wolf man, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, etc). And don't forget the black classics "Cabin In The Sky" and "Stormy Weather".

Mildred Pierce is one of my favs NTFS. I like some sci-fi's as well but the newer ones like Terminator, Predator and RoboCop, and thrillers and mysteries like Dial M for Murder or Vertigo. Even though I already know how they end, they are still scarey. The things I listed above weren't all inclusive, but those would be my choice on a stormy night curled up in a fluffy blanket with a nice cup of cocoa with marshmallows |

I like all the old black and white films because back in the day that was all there was to like. I used to go the show regularly back when there were double features and the movies changed twice a week. That was our only entertainment since there was no TV. So now whenever I want to travel back in time and see all the old favorites I turn to the A&E channel on cable TV. |

javier bardem (amazing actor from spain) gael garcia bernal (mexican actor) kimberly elise (just as talented as any white actress in hollywood) nicole kidman (like her or not, she is a VERY talented actress). russell crowe- although i HATE to admit it (because he is SUCH a JERK) he is a very good actor. denzel washington of course. audrey tatou-beautiful french actress. ricardo darin- brilliant actor from argentina. cameron diaz- she may not be the world's greatest actress, but she has a great sense of on screen comedic timing. brad pitt- yes, he's every womans "pretty boy"-"good looking guy", but he's actually a very good dramatic actor (SEE THE FILM "BABEL".) christopher eccleston-english actor. pete mullen-scottish actor. don cheadle- ALWAYS gives a strong performance. joseph gordon-levitt- a very good younger actor. jeff daniels-great actor. laura linney- lovely and a great actress. mark ruffalo-one of my favorite actors. im sure i could go on and on about this but i'll stop now. i know he's gone but ADOLPH CEASER was one of the best actors ever. EVERYONE needs to see "a soldier's story". adolph ceaser gives one of the greatest performances (imo) in the HISTORY of movies. |

Great picks, Lil_ze. We seem to have the same taste in actors/actresses. You mentioned performers (thespians) who I thought I only knew about. I would add Cicely Tyson, Kevin Bacon and Judi Dench to your list. Have you seen the film "The Constant Gardener?" It's based on the novel by John Le Carre. Positively gripping film. I seldom see flicks that are as good or better than the book, but this movie is the exception. I highly recommend it. I think you'd enjoy it. |

In addition to the aforementioned favorites (e.g., Washington, Pitt, Clooney, Wright, etc.)... Actor I like: Matt Damon (Very subtle, understated) Vince Vaughn (He talks so much bvllshyt I just can't help but like him) Will Ferrell Lawrence Fishburne (Always the COOLEST mofo in the room.) Will Smith Robin Williams (When his taken his Ritalin) Gene Hackman (He is almost ALWAYS a pleasure to see perform) William Defoe (same as for Hackman) Chow Yung Fat (There's a graceful, elegantly heroic quality about him) Val Kilmer (Who can ever forget his Doc "I'm your Huckleberry" Holiday in Tombstone) Morgan Freeman (the best voice in Hollywood this side of James Earl Jones) And James Caan (Amazing how a Jew could manage to so indelibly portray the mythical Sonny Corleone). Actors I loathe: Adam Sandler (You can almost feel your brain cells rot just looking at his shyt) Ben Stiller Owen Wilson (I wanna finish breaking that crooked nose of his) Wesley Snipes (what a waste of talent and presence) Ben Affleck (You could only ride Matt Damon's coattails but so fair, dude) Martin Lawrence (He just doesn't even TRY to do anything new/interesting anymore) Taye Diggs (for my sistahs!) And Jude Law (Chris Rock was right: "Who the hell IS Jude Law?)". And yes, there's no valid reasoning for my liking Vaughn & Ferrell and loathing Stiller & Wilson. |

Actually, no two members of SAG can have the same name. This is why we have Vanessa Williams and Vanessa L. Williams; Michael Fox and Michael J. Fox. Although when people speak of them or when they're listed in film credits, the initial may be omitted, on their SAG membership card it isn't. |

Abm: Of course I watch tv and movies. I live in Missouri, not Texas. I admire particular performances that particular actors have given in particular movies::ie, Marlon Brando in The Godfather. I liked his performance in that movie. In many another movie he was a joke. So I can say I am not a Brando fan. All artists bomb--I like the good performances, I hate the bombs. Perhaps it would have been better had you asked us what actors were good in what movies or something like that. I know that its time for the latest issue of The Incredible Hulk to come out, but you should take a little more time with your posts. Capeesh? |

Chris, Your average great baseball player fail to safely reach base SEVEN of the TEN times he's at bat. And Michael Jordan himself barely hit on 50% of his shot attempts.
