I came across a web site where People were talking about the UGLY attitude's black females have. Some of these people were White,others were BLACK,a LOT of them were saying the, SAME THING that Black women as a group have a VERY UGLY personality problem. I agree,I know VERY ATTRACTIVE black women who have not gone through any of the rejection BLACK WOMEN COMPLAIN ABOUT. MOST OF THEM HAVE SERIOUSLY UGLY Attitudes It's the pathetic attitude of Black AMERICAN Women combined with the crusty ass weaves and body weight problems that makes A LOT OF BLACK GUYS WANT TO DATE OUTSIDE THE RACE. There are black men WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT SKIN TONE OR HAIR TEXTURE.I know guys who have NO PROBLEM DATING A DARK SKINNED FEMALE. The funny thing is Many of these guys are Dating out side the race. Why? A guy I work with CAN'T STAND THE ATTITUDE A LOT OF BLACK AMERICAN WOMEN HAVE,He is dating a Black woman from South Africa.He tell's me HE WILL NEVER DATE AMERICAN BLACK Females. I also hear this A LOT From guys, who have been to Brazil. Brazil has a BIG POPULATION OF BLACK PEOPLE There are 80 million Blacks in Brazil, many of them are DARK SKINNED. Just about evey black guy I know who has been to brazil,noticed HOW DIFFERENT BLACK WOMEN IN BRAZIL ARE from American black women. Many of them have Manners,most of them have a positive Attitude about them selves. They are feminine and CARRY THEM SELVES IN A MUCH MORE POSITIVE WAY than A LOT of American Black Females. These women face a lot of Discrimination. MOST of them LIVE IN POVERTY. Brazil is a VERY Color Struck country. Blacks in Brazil are considered to be the lowest in society Yet Black Brazilian women do not have the Shitty attitude that a lot of American Black females have. I've had black women ask me why I do not date American black females(my last girl friend was East African)I TELL them the truth I don't like WEAVES,or WIGS,I am not attracted to Bitter jealous,hating females who like to Gossip. I get Peace of mind and a drama free relationship with my Current Brazilian girl. | ||

well cynique...its true that black american women have somewhat of a more bold "in your face" attitude than black women form other cultures and other races....the way we go about things is just different. im not saying that this is true for all or most black american women...but its true for alot...and i agree cynique i dont like generalizations either because we dont know every single black american woman or man but some generalizations do hold a grain of truth. Although i dont agree that most black american women have the "attitude" thing.... but seriouslly....eastwest mentioned white people telling him about how horrible black womens attitude is...who are they to put any stock in as far as that goes...often when they accuse black women of having an "attitude" or a "chip on their shoulder"....they simply mean that that black woman didnt just bow down and put up with their racist bullshit....i KNOW this from experiences of my own....but a similar thing can be said about many black american men who complain about black womens attitudes. but i will also say this, sometimes we can have those attitudes for no apparent reason...ive ran into enough of this from black american women before to know....but this isnt always the case.....I've been accused of this myself by whites who feel that i have a "chip" on my shoulder when its really that i didnt put up with their crap. | ||

Some of you Black women on this forum do have some CRAZY attitudes. I swear!!! LOL!!! But seriously, I am a member of a couple of chambers of commerce and this past summer I volunteered to work a Texas statewide convention being hosted here in El Paso. I was situated where I could observe people get off of the elevators and walk over to the registration area. I think the attendees (or their organizations) paid around $500 each in order to attend the event because it was a three-day convention and many meals, special functions and seminars were included in that price. Anyway - ALL of the white and hispanic people would get off the elevators and simply walk over to the registration desk, being friendly and providing their information. Acting like normal business people. However I observed several Black women - and it happened time and time again - get off the elevator, just stand there as if they were waiting for some sort of special treatment, or someone should come and greet them or whatever. And when they went to the registration desk they did have attitudes. It was as if they felt that because they paid the money that they were entitled to be catered to moreso than the other people who had also paid the same amount of money. Or that $500 was some sort of an exorbitant fee and they should be treated like royalty. This was just one event but I've been in other situations where it was more of the same. So we Sisters do tend to have a chip on our shoulders. I don't know why. That's been my observation. Not all of us, but most of us definitely do seem to have low self-esteem/inferiority issues. | ||

I can understand their frustration and disappointment with a number of very sad and pathetic brothers. As I have continually stated, I have no issues with condemning poor black male behavior. I only have problems when angry black women accuse all black men of bad and inexcusable behavior. All black men are not dogs nor do all black men disrespect and abuse black women. Don't let the docile exterior of Asians fool you, Misty. Asians are considered the "model minorities" in the US - in other words, White America doesn't see them as a threat. Meanwhile, Asians are laying in the cut and, slowly but surely, beating the White man at his game. They're so subtle about it, it slips by unnoticed. But mark my words, in another 20 years or so, Asians will rule this mutha! As it stands today, the PARENT companies of many of the US Fortune 500 corporations are Japanese held and/or privately backed by wealthy Japanese investors; this is especially prevalent in the music industry. We all better start learning Japanese. The cosmetic/beauty industry is being taken over by Koreans; not just hair extensions and such, but all the nail salons and day spas as well. The produce industry is being taken over by Koreans and Vietnamese. In NYC, you can't walk through any neighborhood, rich or poor, without there being a Chinese restaurant on every block. The Chinese are even buying up the pizzerias and McDonald's here. More and more Asians are coming out of Med School and Law School each year. The martial arts industry is big, big business in NY, NJ, and CT. I see Black, White, Latino - everything but Asian - kids riding the trains and buses and walking the streets in their ghees. I work with NYC Afterschool Programs and the BOE (Board of Education) is offering more and more contracts to martial arts schools to teach kids self-discipline and self-confidence via the principles of karate. Private hospitals are springing up that are owned and operated by Asians. I'm seeing more Asian bus drivers, cops, postal workers, and transit workers than ever before. When I was a kid coming up in the 70s, an Asian holding any of the above positions was unheard of. I'm serious, this generation better start learning Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, etc, otherwise they won't be able to find gainful employment in this country within the next 20, 30 years. | ||

I can personally vouch for every single thing you wrote. When it comes to Asians (especially the Chinese), no other race or group is more ambitious or can outwork these people -bar none! No fuckin' exceptions under any circumstances, any conditions or anywhere on the plant earth -PERIOD!!!!! I have lived and been in just about every Asian country and I can tell you first hand about their work ethic. When I lived in Japan, you could go to major cities like Tokyo, Shibuya, Ginza, Yokohama, etc.. and 8 pm or 9pm at night for many people was normal exiting hours from work. You would see kids coming from school (girls and boys in uniforms) and roaming around at the same hours! This was normal and common. When they get out of regular school they go directly to advanced study and tutoring academies. It was amazing. I can speak for the Asians in San Diego -they are doing great!! Needless to say, as a group, they are at the top of their classes in high school and college. Physical sciences and mathematics seem to be their natural forte. And when it comes to businesses and owning homes, well, I'm sure you have heard -and it's all true! They dominate the PC computer businesses here. The owners are Vietnamese and Chinese whose parents could not speak one word of English thirty years ago when they came to America. The Filipinos are extremely tight and they are very family and group orientated (something I greatly admire them for). Outside of the Philippines (which is poor country), I have never seen an impoverished Filipino family on welfare or living on the edge. They all own homes, businesses, work more than one job and their kids do very well in school. These people stick together like glue!! The Vietnamese own just about every nail salon in the state. In fact, the California state test for license is given in Vietnamese -true story!! And as everyone knows, the Koreans have made billions selling wigs and weaves to black women. Don't get mad at me -it's true. All the wig and weave shops are Korean and 90% of their clients are black women. I SEE IT EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Entrepreneurialship and hard work seems to be embedded in their genes. Sorry if that offends you, but that's the way I see it. I have personally seen nothing yet that contradicts such thinking. One more thing, something else I greatly admire the Asians for. There is a large store called the 99 Ranch that I go to for certain things. It caters to Asian foods and such. One thing that I notice every time I go, is the family unity. When they shop, it's like a family affair. The children are crawling and hanging all over their fathers while the mothers are putting items in the shopping cart. This is very common for them. But as we all know, it ain't common for black folks. As a black man, it pains me deeply to see so many black women who are unmarried, have two, three, four,...., children and the fathers are no where to be found. Such a scene is virtually no-existent among Asians. You just don't see it. I'm not saying it does not exist period, but I have yet to personally see an unmarried Chinese, Japanese, Filipino or Vietnamese woman with multiple children on welfare. YOU JUST DON'T SEE IT. It's not part of their culture. Anyway, you points are accurate and well made U_S. As I stated before, I can vouch for everything you said. I always snicker at these tales of the intrepidly brilliant American Asian. Admire Asians all you want. But remember that Asians (and other minorities who are NOT descendants of American Slavery) quite conveniently enjoy rights, freedoms and opportunities that AFRICAN AMERICANS were enslaved, raped, lynched, fought, burned, hosed, dog-bitten, redlined, bled and died for. I'd like to see them endure THAT kind of hell before I expend much consideration towards congratulating them. The Native American was every bit as brave, noble, family-community oriented and religiously faithful as any people who've ever graced this continent. Yet we see what happened to THEM. Not only that ABM but the asians who come here are usually the ones who are ALREADY well off and had good education in their OWN countries.....not to mention when they want to start a business in the states, they're GIVEN 10,000 dollars. not only that but money making is nothing when compared to integrity. yes asians may be slightly competing financially with whites but they allow their entire culture to be degraded as second class and to buy into the notion that whites are superior and should run this country. no one in thier right mind would be agaisnt doing for yourself....that's a given and its common sense......but if you sale out to get where you are and become a culture of "kiss asses" you will always remain second to whites. Tropical_storm, We are a living result and consequence of Slavery, Jim Crow, Separate-but-Equal, Poll Tax, etc. The past does not just dissipate into the cosmic ether. Especially since are still many impediments to equality that are firmly enforced. Hell. There are living African Americans who've actually SEEN their family and Black neighbors swing by the neck from trees. And a few of them ain't even old enuff to draw Social Security. |
