Chicago Bulls' Michael Jordan, right, reacts to a reporters' question as his wife, Juanita, listens after he announced his retirement from basketball on Jan. 13, 1999, in Chicago. Jordan and his wife divorced Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, 17 years after the couple wed. Associated Press File Photo Michael Jordan, wife file for divorce By: Associated Press CHICAGO -- Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, filed for divorce Friday after 17 years of marriage. - "Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17 year marriage," the couple said in a statement issued through their lawyers. "A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today. There will be no further statements." Juanita Jordan previously filed for divorce in January 2002, but withdrew her petition a month later when the couple announced they were attempting a reconciliation. During her last divorce petition, Jordan said attempts to reconcile their marriage had failed and future ones "would be impractical and not in the best interests of the family." The couple met at a Chicago restaurant during his second season with the Bulls and were married Sept. 2, 1989, in Las Vegas. They have three children: Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine. The 43-year-old Jordan, a part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, led the Bulls to six NBA titles and was a five-time league MVP. He lives in Highland Park, Ill. http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2006/12/30/backpage/12_29_0615_53_40.txt |

Yes, she is older. I think about 5 years or so older but not quite sure. As far as her skin color, I think it may just be bad lighting because her skin color looks awful and I'm one of the few people that actually finds milky white skin very beautiful. |

Is there a problem with her that someone wishes to detail? She is just a average looking fair complexioned black woman. What do you want from her? And what has she done that offends the detractors? Just curious.....

There is nothing wrong with Juanita Jordan. (that's an old picture, btw). She put up with MJ cheating and humiliation for 17 years. I think MJ's affair with the blonde was the last straw. And now Mama is 'bout to get paid. |

When they weren't shit, they wanted the ebony "Shamika" cause they felt they couldn't do any better. When they signed their respective contracts, however, it was redbone "Juanita" on their sides (more like, backsides). That has been the plan all along for these self-hating fools... They want to be WHITE... as soon as they have access to bigger, brighter, "bones".... too bad for that old mixed breed puss... Notice how these men all have either no hair (bald) or conks to flatten out their God given Negroid naps. I tell ya, there ain't no woman scorned like a redbone these days. Trust that they get the WORST of it from these black male fools. It is all too hysterical. White men prefer "Shamika" and don't want them, either. What's next for them? Who shall stroke their sick egos now? How ironic... |

Serenasailor, if she looked that old 8 years ago, imagine how she looks now. She was only 40 in that picture. Good lord! She looks 63 like Dianna Ross. And how come the "lighting" came out ok on Michael and his complexion, but miraculously came out pale and fucked up on hers? Excuses, excuses...

Ntfs, You mean OTHER than her managing to score a marriage from the greatest and richest basketball player who's ever lived? RobinM, MJ was through shagging that blond skeezer over a decade ago. Either Juanita had gotten over it. Or she SHOULD have gotten over it. Toubobie, MJ's been The Man since he hit that shot to beat Georgetown in the 1982 NCAA Finals. No one know what the hell he banged prior to then. And the man's balded because he started loosing his hair about 20 years ago. Don't hate on him be cause he looks fly bald. All, Funny how, like most other subjects around her, MJ's divorce devolves into some bizarro polemic of White & lightskinned Black women. I'm thinking about creating a reality TV show where lightskinned and darkskinned Black women get to rip each other clothing and skin off for cash, prizes and the prize buck brotha of their choice. |

All, Funny how, like most other subjects around her, MJ's divorce devolves into some bizarro polemic of White & lightskinned Black women. And funny how the ones who often START threads like "the Price of BLACK Beauty??" and "I like Light Skinned Women.....?" are the FIRST ones to piss a BITCH when a subject dissolves into skin & beauty. Don't try to rise above the madness when you're one of the MAIN ONES contributing to it...and sometimes even STARTNG it. Btw, how many light-skinned threads have you been to in the last 6 weeks? Since you have such a problem with them, seems like someone like you would "IGNORE" them.

Tonya, My "the Price of BLACK Beauty" thread really didn't have a dayam thing to do with critizing Black women, regardless of their skincolor. I was ragging on how Asians pilfer Black foks of cash while pissing on us in the process. But I'll provide my opinion about what I choose to. And that INCLUDES what I think of these inanely repetitive darkskinned vs lightskinned debates. And if you don't like what I post, you can follow your own dayam advice and "'IGNORE' them". Okay, Cookie? |

It’s not about me not liking what you post ABM. You just can't come up in here criticizing people for shit you OFTEN do. Not all of your inputs on skin color threads are any different from anybody else's opinions... and you know that! So if you think they're "inanely repetitive" you are talking about your own shit. Go back and reread some of those threads. "I'm thinking about creating a reality TV show where lightskinned and darkskinned Black women get to rip each other clothing and skin off for cash, prizes and the prize buck brotha of their choice." Oh really? So that's why you engage in these talks so often, perhaps. Well, not all of us are into the balding beer bellied Michael Jordan, OR those that might look like him. Tonya, What IS my position on this darkskinned vs lightskinned Black women issue? I doubt you can even describe it. Really. I am NOT as POSSESSED by this particular issue as you so obviously are. Yes. I do think Whiter looking women have certain advantages over Blacker ones and I think many of them unfairly wield their advantages to the apparent detriment of darker women. But I also think darker women often exaggerate the issue to such a degree they hell BUILD the very colorist hell they lament. That, in the proverbial nutshell, is my position on that subject. And PUULEASE. If Michael Jordan showed a modicum of interest in you, your Black man raggin' a$$ would run Juanita over with a Mack truck getting at him; White floozies, bald head, bear belly, et. al. |

You don't have to have a position - or make any kind of sense - to be POSSESSED by it. Alls I know is that you're constantly talking about it... more the fuck than I do. Wanna bet? Wanna see who can pull the most threads? And I'm not surprised that you'd think I'd jump how high for the likes of Jordan. You think ALL black women are whores and gold diggers... ...just like you think the Black female slave WANTED IT. That's the way YOU see things brotha. And I'll be damned if I'd be the type to waste my time trying to change that. Raggin' on a Black man??--that ain't me.... I just tell it like it is and move my shit along. She's the winner in this match-up. So all these catty wanna-bes can degrade her looks and her color all they want because she's still better off than they are. LMAO. |

Anytime people divorce it is sad, especially for their children and other family. But how degrading this must have been for Juanita. Michael making secret deals with his secret lovers to keep their secret affairs secret? Was Juanita supposed to put up with this -rap the rest of her life? Lawsuit reinstated against Michael Jordan February 3, 2005 - A woman who lost her case against Michael Jordan has won an appeal. Karla Knafel had sued the basketball star claiming that he promised her millions of dollars for keeping quite about a sexual relationship. The reinstatement of this lawsuit means that Michael Jordan again faces the possibility that details of his extramarital affair some 15 years ago will become new grist for the media mill. Attorney Mike Hannafan and his partners fought for two years to get their most notorious lawsuit back on the docket. "We don't give up. And we believed in our client, we believed in our case and the appellate court has decided that we were right," Hannafan said. Then an Indianapolis lounge singer, Karla Knafel said she had unprotected sex with Michael Jordan twice during 1989 and 1990. She claimed to have been impregnated by the NBA star who had recently married his current wife Juanita. In 1991, as the Bulls competed for their first NBA championship she said Jordan paid her maternity expenses, gave her $250,000, and promised another $5 million when he retired if she kept silent about the affair. When the relationship became public in 2002, Jordan sued her for extortion. Then she counter sued Jordan for breach of contract. "We are going to prepare for a jury trial against Mr. Jordan and his excellent lawyers and we'll let the jury decide whether or not there was a contract between them," said Hannafan. Two years ago a circuit judge dismissed the claim ruling her agreement to remain silent was extortionate and unenforceable. But Illinois public policy strongly favors freedom to contract and courts will not declare a contract illegal unless it expressly contravenes the law. Jordan's attorney issued a written statement saying, "There is no good reason why Illinois should be any more permissive of agreements to buy silence." And, hinting at an appeal it added, "We expect Michael Jordan's position to be fully vindicated." Meanwhile, there are new questions concerning the paternity of the now teenage child. It has been reported the actual father is a professional baseball player but Thursday afternoon Knafel's attorney would not rule out Michael Jordan. "We don't know if she was pregnant by Mr. Jordan at this point," Hannafan said. Of course it's possible Jordan could appeal the appellate court ruling. In any event Knafel's lawyers are planning to call Jordan in for a deposition. It is also possible they'll request samples for D.N.A. testing. Mr. Hannifan says his firm has made its mark by winning cases in the courtroom. He would not comment when asked if Michael Jordan could offer a settlement to avoid a trial.

What drama! I never heard about any of this lawsuit probably because I don't keep up with basketball and not interested in MJ either. If this supposed contract was made during "pillow talk" it is probably unenforceable. Further, if the contract stipulated that the relationship be kept secret, those terms have now been violated so how can the woman expect to get paid. What the dumb bitch should have done when MJ made her those promises, was telephone her attorney to draw up a legal contract. She could have even gotten it in writing herself - you don't need a lawyer to make a contract valid. That way she could have had his signature and he couldn't dispute what he "promised." |

RobinM, I don't recall ever hearing or reading that there was a WRITTEN agreement between them. And, unless I have forgotten my contract law (Statue of Frauds), contracts greater than a year in duration must be in writing. I would think Jordan's promise to pay the woman $5M +10 years later would fall within that criteria. So if there was never anything in WRITING that expressly asserted Jordan would do as this this Knafel's claims, this issue never should have seen the light of day. In fact, the more I think about this the more I wonder whether Juanita has secretly enabled/financed said blond skeezer's fallacious lawsuit to gain leverage against Mike. |

You keep treating me like I'm most "Chicks"... ...AND I AM NOT. One the wealthiest men on the east coast propositioned me in a way that made me aware that he only wanted to "dick me down" and get me PAID. BUT because he was not my type I refused to do so. And, like you, my girlfriends thought that that's what "most chicks" do and so they figured that I was crazy and they even called me SHALLOW for not letting him "dick me down." Never mind the fact that he wasn't my type because he was a 'payah' ...the kind of man that goes around using women and dicking them down. No, despite all of this, they thought *I* was being shallow and NOT THEM for suggesting I fuck him for MONEY. They are not my friends anymore, because they just don't know me.. and they have the wrong idea about what MOST CHICKS should do. "If you're so hellbent on proving how POSSESSED I am..." Ain't hellbent. Just offering my rebuttal. Calm down. |

ABM, He wasn't my type. I don't mind certain kind of playahs, but I need your undivided attention, I gotta be THE woman in your life. It's not even so much that I have a problem with the practice of sharing men like polygamy (which I do). It's just that vanity won't let me play second fiddle to another woman. I don't know what that says about me. Never thought about it. Perhaps I don't care. "Oh. And the guy you're talking about maybe rich. But he AIN'T Michael Jordan." He was one of the richest men one the east coast...even mentioned in one of those fortune 500 magazines. Is there really a difference between that and "Michael Jordan rich?" At a certain point, isn’t rich just rich? |

Cynique- Many people are highly critical of Juanita. It's as if she is bringing a sports hero down, and folks figure she is getting paid, so she should just be quiet. Like other wives of wealthy men. That's my point. Abm- Whether the lawsuit has merit or not is besides the point. Why is he having affairs with women in the first place anyway? It's not like this woman is the only one. I know of a (black) woman in my hometown who made MJ take a paternity test because during his playing days they had unprotected sex. This woman raised her son to believe he was MJ's child. When the test came back negative, well... |

Robinmarie, Let's not confuse issues here. The man had sex with this blond hussy twice over FIFTEEN years ago. I'm not saying he should have cheated on his wife. But come on, already. He should be made to pay FIVE MILLION bucks for THAT...ESPECIALLY when this alleged deal isn't in WRITING? Hellthefuhknaw! Now. I'd agree that Jordan should be made to account for whatever results from his cheating, especially if he foolishly did such without protect himself. But if Juanita knew of all his skanking - and, really, how could she NOT know - yet continued to stay with him throughout all his extramarital boning - then she essentially consented to his cheating. |

I live in a suburb of Chicago and the general consensus around here is that Juanita is the sympathetic character in this drama. Michael Jordan may be a hero on the hoop arena, but if he didn't have athletic skills which, incidentally are limited to basketball, he'd be just a trifling playa who'd be hard-pressed to excel as a manager at MacDonalds. He's known for being mean-sprited and ego-centric, and a big financial settlement is a equitable trade-off for his long-suffering wife. |

I highly doubt Juanita consented to his extramarital affairs. They probably fought about it constantly. MJ obviously lied and said he would stop. (this is all speculation of course) She probably loved and wanted to believe in him. Does that absolve her from taking responsibility and leaving his azz long ago? Of course not. In addition to being a superstar basketball player, MJ is also an asute and savvy businessman who made a sports empire and fortune through his numerous clothing and licensing deals-all with Juanita (and his many mistresses) at his side. Why do successful men think they are above morality and can somehow beat the law of "what goes around, comes around"? |

"Btw: Would you be okay with polygamy if you were the Lead wife?" Hmmmm. Depends on the time and circumstance. Like if I were The Queen married to a very wealthy ruler of a prosperous nation, and it was set in a time where there was no AIDS, maybe. And that's a big MAYBE. Cuz, like I said, I need his undivided attention. |

Robyn - Generally speaking, in a relationship, people treat you the way you permit them to treat you. If the woman knew that MJ couldn't keep his pants on, and she overlooked his conduct - then she consented. She consented thru her silence, inaction or by staying in the relationship. |

Robynmarie, Assuming Mike, did constantly cheat on her, she could have left him at anytime. And if she believed he would stop cheating after she caught him with the 4th, 10th or 20th floozy, she was either a fool or just buying time to the right time for her to cash out. Neither position is worthy of sympathy. Yes. She's NOT responsible for Mike's cheating. But she'd stayed with him after he repeated done such she consent to and accept that as a condition of their marriage. I'll bet the divorce judge doesn't even allow the issue to be brought up during their divorce proceedings for that very reason. Babe. ALL men want extra p*$$y. We just do. The only difference between successful men and other guys is it's usually easier for them to get away with cheating because A) More women are attracted to their success/cash and B) They can more comfortably survive the economic consequences of divorce. |

I would bet the Jordans have an ironclad prenup. If Juanita is not worthy of sympathy, from the generally public, she is certainly due lots of cash, for "pain and suffering". Yes, I understand all men want as much sex as possible, notwithstanding their marital status. It just seems like rich and powerful men, believe they can do whatever they wish with whomever they wish, without karma kicking in. Ask Bill Clinton.

Robynmarie, I think Juanita should benefit HANDSOMELY from their divorce settlement. Not be cause she's earned anything thing from some fallacious pain/suffering. But because she was with Mike during the ZENITH of his career. And I am an ardent proponent of each spouse reaping equitable - if not equal - credit/benefit for what occurs during a marriage. And (according to local Chicago news reports) since they've amicably divorced, I suppose Juanita is being properly cared for. Consent is not necessarily the issue here. Juanita apparently forgave MJ for straying. But he rewarded her by being a repeat offender and her patience ran out. And as for MJ being an astute business man, puleeze. He surrounded himself with astute finacial advisers because he was out of his league in the business world which is why he was fired for incompetency from his managerial position by the owner of the Washington Wizards. But what could you expect from a dumb jock whose college major was Geography. |

"Tonya, So if dude's RICH, you could avoid catching an STD and would get the attention you need from dude, you'd share a husband." ABM, how is he going to give me the attention that I need if he's most likely working a lot--cuz he's rich--AND I'm sharing him with someone else?? Look. It's not about how much TIME he's giving me because I can understand him working and trying to make that money. But he gotta give me QUALITY TIME, and I just don't see him being able to do that with me KNOWING he's screwing another woman. It just won't happen like that. The time we spend together would be consumed by us arguing all the time. Because, like I also said, I only like a certain kind of Playah and it's the kind that's smart enough not to get caught up in no bullshit with ME. I've made a couple men lose their minds before. Seriously. And it was all because they fucked with me the wrong way. And I couldn't help it, I had to fuck with them back--that's just the way I am. So: there won't be no quality time, therefore he won't be giving what I need. |

Tonya, Dude could be rich enuff to live off of investments that he does not have work with on a fulltime basis. Since I don't know how much time you expect to spend with a man, I can't say whether you could share him with other women. But where's the bvllshyt if you already know he's married to and boning other women? I mean, it's not like you're being deceived. You KNOW whatelse and whomelse he's doing. |

Btw, NONE of the Rich men I knew lived off of investments, they worked A WHOLE LOT. |

Tonya, I was referring to the possible prospects of your knowingly and legally being MARRIED to a man who had another woman(women). But, yeah. If the guy's working so much, you'll never see him, you probably shouldn't marry him, regardless of whether or not he has another wife. |

"But, yeah. If the guy's working so much, you'll never see him, you probably shouldn't marry him, regardless of whether or not he has another wife." Actually, no. I have made it work with a guy who was wealthy and worked a lot. It was only when he started tripping--hanging out with the wrong crowd which included the wrong women and drugs--that things start to fall apart. It's not that you shouldn't marry a Rich man. You should marry one that cares enough about you and him, to not get involved with other women and all the wrong stuff. |

How funny though. If you notice all of these men who were married to these lightskinned "trophy types" are all divorced now. Eddie Murphy, Babyface, Morris Chestnut, and now Michael Jordan. There marriages not only ended but in nasty divorces. However, all the Black men married to brown to dark-skinned Black women like Courtney Vance, Denzel Washington, Anthony Anderson, Chris Tucker, and Sam Jackson marriages are going strong and show no signs of ending. Notice all of these men have been married to these women for years. THAT INTERESTING!! I wonder why that is? |

The darker skinned wives put up with a lot more crap and they are easier to please. In my case like I said I have had only good experiences with black men and dont know why that is. I have no complaints to make about brothers because they always treated me good and plenty of attention and I am DARK.

Quiet as it's kept, Serensailor, the men you mentioned are the rule, not the exception when it comes to the black population in general. It's a reality of life that all black men don't marry white or trophy women. They marry and stay with black women who they fall in love with, and who they fall in love with are black women who are supportive and respectful of them. |

Or maybe Enchanted these Black men are married to these dark-skinned Black women out of love, and not because they were some sort of "trophy piece". Whereas Black men like Eddie Murphy, and Michael Jordan marry these high yellow women as trophies. And maybe being a trophy is not all it is "cracked up to be". I mean a trophy gets tarnished after a couple of years. I have the feeling that these women get tired after a while of being cheated on, abused, and screwed around with. |

Mike'll be doing movies, TV, high-paid speaking engagments, more commercials, product endorsements, celebrity golf tournaments, etc. He can easily make back whatever he's gottah payout to Juanita. And he can do shyt without having to worry about a wife sweating him. Plus he can run ruffshod over the choice Hollywood cQQchie for a few years. And their kids are nearly grown. So their divorcing may prove a win-win for BOTH of'em. |

"I mean a trophy gets tarnished after a couple of years." By the looks of things... ...Jordan's "trophy" was already tarnished when he bought it. Shit like this makes me wonder what they mean by "trophy." ...But only when it comes to SOME black men though. When white men get "trophies" you can actually SEE what they’re talking about. And you know what else is funny? The men you named: Murphy, Jordan and the rest, cheated on their wives with either WHITE(TER) women....or MEN. Which is likely what they really wanted wanted in the first place. At least when Denzel cheated on his wife, he did it with another sistah, not something that a black woman cannot be... ...(or in Murphy's case: what ANY woman CAN'T be). |

In her day, Juanita Jordan was a looker. She had smooth, flawless skin, deep gorgeous dimples, long-lashed dancing eyes, a great body, and a nice rack. But - nobody's perfect and since MJ wouldn't marry her after she got pregnant with their first son, she took him to court in a paternity suit after the kid was born. She later dropped charges when Michael agreed to marry her, many saying his reason for doing so was to project a wholesome public image for endorsement purposes. But insiders say that he and his mother always felt that Juanita had trapped him. As for Denzel, of course he and his wife and Sanaa have vehemently denied the rumors about his infidelity. And he has been quoted as saying that he vetoed a romantic relationship between him and Julia Roberts in "The Pelican Brief" because he did not want his wife or white movie-goers to see a black man kissing "America's sweetheart" and he looked very uncomfortable when Julia insisted on greeting him with a big hug and laying a slob on him when she presented his Oscar to him for "Training Day." |

Denzel particularly f*cks the production "crew" makeup stylists, etc. Trust that he IS a dog. A F*CKING DOG! "Trophy" high yella, half dead lookin women have a definite expiration date--wrinkles start to kick in VERY fast for them. Look at how haggardly they all look after a while? Like the white women they look MORE like, they age quite rapidly. For example, Sheila E, Jasmine Guy, Vanessa Williams, Lisa Bonet... These women were the SHIT in the 80's, now look at 'em. You couldn't fold a piece of brittle paper better than their melanin-less faces fold under the sun's brutal rays. Even your girl Beyonce, at her "tender" young age is starting to wrinkle quite badly....(HD is a b*tch! LOL) It's the SISTAHS who never look a day over their true age... even younger than, most times. |

Who says a dark skinned woman can't be a "trophy"? Y'all got it twisted. As for MJ surrounding himself with talented folks, that is a skill in and of itself. Michael knew how to create a "brand" out of himself, and profited mightily. The reason he was fired from the Washington Wizards is because he wouldn't toe the line. Apparently, MJ is quite happy with Bob Johnson in N.C. Birds of a feather, I guess. |

As long as MJ occupies a figurehead position in a corporation, he'll be happy, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that as a superstar you can merchandise yourself. Michael's not toeing the line in his managenment position with the Wizards consisted of not doing what he was hired to do, probably because he was clueless as to how to do it. |

"Funny how, like most other subjects around her, MJ's divorce devolves into some bizarro polemic of White & lightskinned Black women." Bro ABM, you be da man! I thought I was the only one who felt this way. The never ending screeching, whining, finger pointing and wailing about another black person's skin color is beyond pathological and pathetic. It's like a compulsive obsessive sickness. Just when I didn't think it could worse, it continues elevates its self to yet another level of hysterical absurdity and greater intraracial stupidity. "I'm thinking about creating a reality TV show where lightskinned and darkskinned Black women get to rip each other clothing and skin off for cash, prizes and the prize buck brotha of their choice." Hey! That's sounds like a great idea! We can let Jerry Springer host the show, call it "LaSheemka Don't Play Dat!", set it up like Family Affair with the two respect groups of "authentic, dark and nappy" versus the "half breed creamy wannabes"! Yeah! And then let 'em go at it, have the racist taunts, digs and insults judged by numbered placards by the audience, with scores of 1-10! Whatdaya think? Would that be a viable outlet for all the raging skin color hate and jealous bitterness...????

Abm Denzel has said that he isnt against interracial in Hollywood but that he doesn't do white chicks it beats me how you miss all these huge magazine interviews with all the juicy stuff but then again I noticed most black men ignored that piece where he stated he likes his women to look like the women in his family. This article by the way was in response to the fact that so many white women were AFTER HIM, CHASING HIM and stuff, he noted that Julia Roberts and his wife had become good friends during the movie he made with Julia this was back when Vanessa Williams had openly complained that he didnt do movies with light skinned leading ladies (at that time, every one of his movies had co-starred dark skinned leading ladies). He never did make a film with Vanessa Williams or Halle Berry he doest like their views on identity. When asked which of his movie characters he is most like he said that Malcolm X is the closest to his beliefs. All of this is why he is the single God of black women ticketbuyers. He has no peer.

Cynner... melanin makes ALL the difference, but of course, you wouldn't know that, now would you? On film , you can see their sheer wretchedness, however IN PERSON these redbones look downright AWFUL. Ms. Estevez (Ms. E.) in person looks like a f*ckin crack head, I kid you not. Ms. Guy in person looks like the crypt-keeper. Ms. Williams looks like a witch. There is no doubt that redbones and their white progenitors are suffering due to lack of melanin and sun damage. Genes don't do shit when it comes to the sun. Due to high definition, many of them are getting hip and demanding in their contracts that DP's use FILTERS. The soft edge filter, 1/4 grade density so that it's barely noticeable but more akin to the Hollywood glam 1920's diffused look. Whitey knows what time it is about them as well. White men (especially GAY white men) will quickly comment about how soft and supple a black woman's skin is compared to that of white women and redbones. Black men know, but most won't admit it. |

Who are the "dark-skinned" leading ladies Denzel made movies with? What color is Sanaa? And Denzel has certainly had his supply of white co-stars. I just saw a picture where Denzel played opposite Annette Benning and Angelina Jolie was also his co-star in a movie. Shelia E. and Jasmine Guy and Lisa Bonet don't look older than their ages. They are not, after all, still in their 20s. |

It's just not true that all black women don't show their age. I've see plenty of them with wrinkles around their lips and bags under their eyes and rings on their necks and frown creases on their foreheads. I am not here to defend white women, but I maintain that aging is an individual thing. |

Michelle Pfeiffer, Raquel Welch, Sharon Stone (ESPECIALLY) ALL are wretched minus the FILTERS they demand when being filmed. The rest probably are the same. Filmmaking is an illusion.. with the light composition and lighting, anything goes....IN PERSON... Nicole Kidman is a WRETCH! Isabella Rossellini is a WRETCH times 20! Crows feet around the eyes, crevices around their mouths.. the whole nine... The list goes on. Live amongst these women and you will be VERY disappointed if you think that what you see on the big screen and in the airbrushed magazines is what you get in reality. Friend of mine makes around $350 an HOUR as a freelance airbrush artist... He has literally RESURRECTED these women from the dead. He once confessed that he GRAFTS skin samples from more supple skin textures when there is no where in the same image he can sample from. Now that is quite bad, but quite telling... |

Sheryl Lee Ralph played his wife in "The Mighty Quinn" and Regina Taylor was his wife in another movie. What about "Crimson Tide", "Courage Under Fire", "Philadelphia". All were Dark skinned wives. Angela Bassett was his love interest. I do recall at the time thinking that Vanessa Williams had a good point.

Sophia Loren is gorgeous but Sharon Stone in person (or on Eentertainment Tonight) looks like a plastic surgery dump site. Yuck. Raquel Welch is plastic looking but Diahann Carroll who is much older looks better than her. Black women dont even need the plastic surgery until THE VERY END.

"No they are not dark-skinned, "Enchanted." Angela Basset is always the poster girl for arguments like yours but she is golden brown. Everybody who is not a high-yellow red bone is not dark-skinned. And people who fall into the various categories of brown will be the first to tell you this." Ms. Cynique, why are you wasting your time arguing about skin color in this forum? You can't win. The entire ongoing obsession and uncontrollable drive to continually rail over this comatose subject (on this board) is just as bad as the Igbola virus.
