being a big film fan, and thinking of myself as a good judge of "on screen" talent.
i have to say that chris tucker is an AMAZINGLY talented film star. even though chris tucker has appeared in only TWO films in the last NINE YEARS, he is able to command 20 MILLION dollars a film. actors like brad pitt and will smith are amongst the handful of actors that are able to get this kind of money for a film.
chris tucker might be more of a screen presence than eddie murphy was in his prime. this is how talented i think chris tucker is. as far as comedy goes (although his dramatic performance in "dead presidents" was very good also), his on screen talent is almost without match.
the fact that he's rarely even in a film, and can still be a part of the "20 million" dollar a film club, is a testimony to just how talented he really is.
does anyone else see just how incredibly talented chris tucker is?
is chris tucker too talented to even be in films (in the sense that he really doesnt even make films, at the rate that tom cruise, will smith, brad pitt etc make, yet he's able to get as much as they do for a film).
TWO FILMS in nine years. i think that says alot about his "star power".
chris tucker is a very talented hollywood figure.
anyone else think so? |

He does a good job at what he's hired to do, a producer's dream.
..but Chris wants to shed his sambo persona, execs won't let him, don't believe he will sell otherwise. it's funny how we tend to 'find religion' AFTER we become affluent in Hollywood... He's also one of the few holding out from 'sleeping with strange bedfellows' in tinseltown, but I'm sure he'll come around and sell his soul like the rest..
if he wants A-list work, he needs to get another publicist and pull a stunt of kramer-esque proportions to be taken seriously and appeal to a broader market. I think he has TREMENDOUS potential to do many great things with his craft if given the opportunity. A good guy too, from what I hear. |

Chris Tucker ain't talented or charismatic enuff to wash Eddie Murphy's funky draws.
Chris Tucker's a one-trick-pony who just happen to be blessed enuff to strike gold playing off the strange chemistry between him and Jackie Chan. Hell. The only reason why he's NOT made any thing other that Rush Hour movies in the last 8 years is he KNOWS if he does his bvllshyt will get exposed and appear tire REAL quick. |

Chris Tucker is the ONLY Black male entertainer with his (very dark) complexion that I've seen with a truly dark-skinned woman, besides Bernie Mack of course. I'm not sure who Chris is dating now but his ex-girlfriend is chocolate colored. This hasn't biased my view of his talent though. I thought he and Bernie were the best waaaaaaaaaayyyy before I knew they were with dark-skinned women. And sorry for veering off topic I know it's wrong, but did ya'll know that Snoop Dog's wife is a dark-skinned female... as are many of the wives and girlfriends of many rap stars and well known ball players? I saw a "True Hollywood" special recently and was shocked (!) at how many young blk entertainers are with darkskinned women. Music videos'll have you thinking the complete opposite!! |

Like Bernie; Denzel, Samuel L and Wyclef have all been MARRIED to darkskinned Black women for over 10 years. And, of course, this ain't got a dayam thing to do with whether these men are great entertainers.
The argument that ALL Black men are colorstruck for White/Lightskinned women is often mistated and overblown. |

Tonya, why does it irk you so when darkskinned black guys date/marry lightskinned black women? As a darker woman myself, it doesn't blow my dress up. I KNOW that I look good and my skin color only compliments my looks.
Back to Chris Tucker. He is a funny man, I agree and he is attractive. His voice irritates the hell out of me and I wouldn't put him in the same league as Larry Fishburne, Sam Jackson, Wesley, or Denzel. They can act their asses off. |

I ain't mad at Chris for getting all that money but he is only marginally talented. The only movies he is in that do well are with Jackie Chan. When that string runs out--I hope he saved his money. |

Too Talented For Movies ? Are you serious ?Until I see Tucker in a challenging role besides his usual slapstick comedies I can only say that his acting is good but not phenomenal. He's funny but I think he's better as a comedian. |

Well maybe he should revisit the profession...unless of course, he's casted in a challenging role @ least one? Can't he up the ante ? And my statement still holds true...I always enjoyed him doing stand up. However, when I hear that he's going to be in a movie, I think ok another stupid comedy. |

Gimme a break, Lil ze. I had to make sure that Chris Tucker was who I thought he was, because in my mind Chris Tucker comes nowhere near to somebody being an amazingly talented screen star. He's a box office draw because of the success of his first movie with Jackie Chan which was moreorless a fluke, but to me he's little more than a buffone with his cotton ball eyes and falsetto voice. Has he ever stretched out in a dramatic role??? |

I agree with you Cynique. He is a handsome guy, but he is annoying as hell. He is a buffoon which next to the overweight, Black woman with an attitude, and the Black comedian that dresses up in drag as a overweight, Black woman with an attitude are the favorite images that white ppl love to show. Chris Tucker is also very lazy and doesn't want to work for his money. He is in Atlanta living off the success of his first two films.
Also, he tried to go to Africa and act like these other rich, white, Hollywood assholes and come back with this "holier than thou" attitude. That really "rubbed me the wrong way". |

Chris Tucker is married and his wife is dark skinned beautiful similar to Wyclef's. I am a darks skinned woman and I keep telling you that black men have not ever ignored me like all that b.s. Kola Boof spews on a constant. I have dark skinned women friends and we all have plenty of black men so I dont know why this is so overblown. It would be nice if these women could be celebrated in videos and movies however because that is what makes it appear that wya is black beauty is never celebrated openly.

How funny is that Enchanted? Yet you insist that your dark-skinned sons date/marry someone light-skinned or mixed so they can have "pretty" grandbabies.Obviously, you are not that secure in the way you look. And you also say that you wear fake hair as well. So the men in your life must not accept as a dark-skinned African featured woman.
And if Black men made you feel that "normal"/beautiful about your skintone then you wouldn't feel the need to dilute your heritage by wanting your sons to date/marry lightskinned or mixed. |

Snoop recently revealed what almost caused his marriage to fall apart back in 2004. The rapper says he took his family for granted and was having too much fun being the king of a sex gang. (Apparently that does not do a marriage good.) The artist says he was involved in several sex rendezvous and cheated on his wife, Shante Broadus. He also admits he was part of a gang that consisted of Los Angeles hookers where he could get any woman he wanted - day or night.
He told Rolling Stone magazine, “I had a b***h on every exit from the 10 freeway to the 101 freeway ’cause b***hes would recruit for me.” He added, “She’d act like it didn’t happen but she knew it was happenin’ because pimps would come over, get dressed, and then go to the Players Balls.”
For some strange reason (notice a hint of sarcasm), this put a strain on his marriage and the 35-year-old was forced to suffer the consequences when his wife decided to give him an ultimatum. Now Snoop Dogg insists he’s a changed man and isn’t going back to his old ways. He says he became tired of his pimpin’ lifestyle, and eventually changed his ways for good.
“I had enough,” he said. “That pimping s**t was cool because I needed to do it… but I’m into the family.”
Meanwhile, the rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested last week as he left NBC Studios following his performance on Jay Leno for investigation of illegal possession of a handgun and drugs. Sounds promising.
