I was listening to the radio this week and heard a report of some Jewish people in Roslyn, LI who received some Jewish hate mail. Apparently they got some letter in the mail emblazoned with a Swastika. The police were investigating and everything. I began thinking to myself wow, Black people confort racism on a much higher level on a daily basis. I really could not understand why the Roslyn, NY incident was even newsworthy relatively speaking. See I get racist email all the time. Usually I just ignore it and at this stage of the game I’m somewhat immune to it. I know there are people who hate Black folks, I don’t racists think I need the reminder. Well the same day of the Roslyn incident I got a letter in the mail myself. Addressed to AALBC.com and Staff. A scan of a portion of the letter is shown below:  Is this letter newsworthy. Should I phone the press or call Reverend Al? Am I too desensitized for my own good? | ||

I would have reported it if for no other reason than to see if the media found accounts of racism against Blacks as newsworthy as that against Jews. Call in the po-po, Troy! But seriously, I do think it's newsworthy; especially with the Hillary and Obama angle. For certain, GLBT advocates would have a field day. | ||

I could create a file of this stuff. Especially the emails. It seems silly to bother the police with this nonsense. They have better things to do... In fact an apartment building just exploded down the block. All the windows were blown out, people may have been seriously injured. I don't know the extent of the damage. Very sad. I getting racist hate mail, buildings are blowing up a few doors down, and I'm editting a video of Karrin Steffans. Only in New York City Kids, only in New York.... | ||

Call the Police Troy! At the very least, these malfeasants are harmless, at the most dangerous. See, you don't know and can't predict their behaviour so why take a chance? I'm speaking from personal experience. At my work site, some of the other Back employees have been recieving hate mail threatening to do bodily harm or to kill them. As a result some of them have gone on stress leave and the police have been called in. I've seen one of the letters and the racial invective contained in the letter was extremely vile. Whoever wrote these letters obviously has issues with Black people. I for one don't want to go into work one day and be confronted by a fellow employee who has gone 'postal'. The fact is they are unpredictable and as such, one should be wary at least and take precautions. Call the Police! | ||

Mony, Chris, et. al. maybe you are right I'll take your advise into consideration for future physical hate mail. The electronic stuff I usually ignore or depending upon how the email is written I'll reply. I never get a response. I think it is because the writer is not looking for an intelligent exchange. Mony, funny, at my job, I'M the one most likely to go postal. | ||

Think about. . . There are a lot of weird white racists who, although they are white racists, spend an amazing amount of time at Black websites while seething with jealousy over the robust intellectual exuberance and culture that they find there. They suffer from so much envy that they often forget themselves and send hate mail-- exposing themselves to be Afro-philic or addicted to Blackness. White racists who spend hours every day trolling Black websites are among the strangest of the strange. Like the white racists who love Black music but hate Black people. They can't stand us, but they can't seem to be able to stay away from us. Think about how conflicted and pitiful such people must be. |
