Rondall, are you the author of this poem? Do you write or a avid reader? If a reader check out The Package by Nicklas Maddox and Nea Williams. Think you'll enjoy it. |

I wrote the poem about a friend of mine who is also a poet. I enjoy listening to her vibe and it inspires me to scribe (omit the rhyme). By the by, I read the synopsis of The Package by Nicklas Maddox and Nea Williams. I don't get the connection at all...but thanks. Rondall |

Rondall, is "scribing" what I have been doing? I have been calling it poetry for lack of a better word but the word "scribing" works for me. Obviously, I'm not that schooled on the subject of poetry. I just know that once in a while I feel inspired to put my thoughts down in a different way. Here's my latest endeavor. What is this thing spelled t-i-m-e? Would that 4 letters could capture in print the nothing that is chased by the hands of a clock, the something that is hinted at by green leaves living to die a golden death, and fall to the ground that snow will make white. What is this thing called time? Would that an uttered sound could define the smooth of skin surrendering to wrinkles, or the thin of hair turning to gray atop a crystal ball that has seen tomorrow become yesterday. What is this curiosity wondered about as time? Perhaps it is an unsolved mystery called life... CDB

Wow Rondall, I'm a little surprise in your response. I had a feeling you were the author and that's why I suggested reading The Package. Maybe you would get a better connection if you actually read it. Then you'd see what I'm talking about. |

Cynique: I "scribe ta scribble", but you "paint in poetry". I like the question you posed in that piece, and I can really appreciate the allusion to the answer. May I suggest you take it and really work it into a philosophical work of art. It has the potential to evolve into a poem transcendental (there is such a thing, think of Emily Dickenson, Henry David Thoreau, or Keating). Or you could just smack it up, whip it, and write it down! Just keep doing it. Eviana: My bad...I really did not mean anything by my response. But I just did not see the conjecture in reference to the poem. However, I will make every attempt to read "The Package" I assure you. You have stoked my curiousity and I've got nothing but love for ya!!! Peace

Boy Eviana, you sure are impressed by The Package. How about a plot summary and bio on the authors? |

Sure Chris, There's a North American organization based out of Chicago who is run by a self-made billionaire who is also a decorated soldier from Nam. Everyone that comes inside of this organization is also very wealthy. But the question is why is this organization producing more money than any other organization around? The answer is a true to life answer as a matter of fact it was in the news not too long ago. What this organization is offering, there are many people in need of but only a few can get. And then with any book you need good characters and the characters in this book are described in such a way that anyone who reads this book can identify with them and actually vision these people. I suggested to Rondall to read this book based on his creativity. When I read the poem above it reminded me of the created way The Package was put together. I'm a fan of work that stand out. But I'm not only telling him and you I'm telling everyone. This book is definitely going somewhere not only because of the way it was written but the message that it tells and how it was told. I don't know that much about the authors. I don't usually get off into who's who. I just like to read. And if it's something of interest, then I don't care who the authors are I'm going to share the news. Read The Package and you'll see what I'm talking about. Are you up to the challenge? Let me know. |

Are you up to the challenge of having this book reviewed by me or Thumper? Please keep in mind there will be "no quarter given, nor none taken" in the evaluation of said literature. I respect the work of underground authors/poets. But frankly Eviana, I have read all three boards and you have not missed a marketing opportunity on any of them. I appreciate you fervour for the book, but please respect that these discussion boards are not meant for continuous hype of anyone's product. If you think that much of this book then have the authors/publisher contact Thumper or Troy about getting it reviewed. One of us would be glad to take it in consideration. Until then Eviana, your presence is welcome and encouraged. I will now go back to being a moderate Moderator... |

Rondall, The book that I had wasn't even mine. There was a book signing that held in Maryland of about 200 authors and a friend of mine and I went. I purchased a book from Henrietta Ford entitled When Sleeping Dogs Lie. Tiffany purchased The Package and gave it to me to read when she was done with it. Then like I said as I was reading this book the news of UCLA became public. This was too exciting for me. How many times do you actually read about an event before it happens. What I'm asking is was there a book about 9/11 before the day, how about one on OJ Simpson and Nicole describing her death before her murder, Kobe before the rape charge and I could go on. This book was written, published and then for sell BEFORE the breaking news. That's something I don't experience everyday. And to answer your questions I believe this book would hold up to your reveiw. The picture on the back of the book shows them to be African American and the main plot isn't about drugs, a man beating up his girlfriend/wife or any of the other negativity that is reflected on blacks today. And sorry I don't know how to get in touch with these authors to have them forward a copy of the book to you. If I did I would. I just believe the message in this book is a powerful one and should be heard. Thanks for the welcome. And when I asked if you were up to the challenge I meant do you think you could actually read this book, the articles in the paper about UCLA and not tell anyone. You may not put it on this board in fear that I would say I told you so, but you would definitely tell someone. Just like me. |
