Haiti’s Run on . . . I dream of a Haiti that used to be in a time that is no longer mine in a world that no longer exist in a place that is full of distaste for a culture with so much rapture that it succeeded and did not heed the telling of others to stop and crawl under a rock when instead they took up rocks as if they were arms and used them in battle to succeed and make real a dream for freedom but only to have that freedom still be only a dream because they are repressed by their own success in a time when the country should have been a mine of culture, growth, strength, and innovation but instead greed has choked the life out of the dream and the US makes it a nightmare when they spray through hoses and intercept boats filled with unleashed dreams of making reality better than what it had been in a time when things should have been different and now the hope of 200 years ago is lost in a war not against invaders but against ourselves because power has been transferred and greed has been absorbed and vision has been lost only to leave a people blind to what needs to be done . . . until the cycle breaks- Freedom is the only hope that continues to run through our veins. |
