GADZOOKS! Somewhere in the limbo of cyberspace, ABM is salivating!

But - wait! Inspired by the picture of her old "nemesis", Cynique feels a poem coming on...

Anxiety steals the luster from your eyes
and tension makes your bosom rise.
Your poems promise the flowing Nile
but your lips convey a pent-up smile.
Upon pause
is this because
You're a long way from where you came
and your American safari made you fair game
as you beat the drum of your chosen mission
and speared your targets of opposition
in the concrete jungle where you blazed your path,
hissing and spewing your snake girl wrath
at the natives who yawned
and dismissed your "truth"
as the world according to Kola Boof.

Is it time for the Grammys yet??

Cynique, your poem is sure to wake us all up and get us to registering and responding.
Thumper, I hadn't registered and posted before because I'm busy working my author behind off, this being February. I have a new name, as you see, but I'm a long-time discussion board reader and always gentle poster.

Thanks so much, Troy.

And thanks to Tee Royal's RAWSISTAZ REVIEWERS...for calling this poetry collection ......"one of the best in years."

Of course, the book is only NEW to Americans.

FROM RAWSISTAZ:

Reviewer: The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

In her debut book of poetry, NILE RIVER WOMAN, Kola Boof presents a strikingly emotional and somewhat controversial view of the world through the eyes of an intriguing and remarkable woman.

To fully understand the depth of her writings, the book tells a bit of Boof's biography. Born in Africa as Naima Bint Harith, Kola Boof was orphaned at an early age when both her parents were murdered for their activism against slavery.

She then moved to America where she spent her formitive years. Returning to Africa, she became an activist, a feminist, Osama bin Laden's mistress, and generated so much controversy that she was ordered to death.

NILE RIVER WOMAN contains 52 emotionally charged poems, which tackle issues such as religion, slavery, racism, and feminism. Although at times the poetry is graphic and explicit, it conveys just how much the author has had to endure. While I may not agree with Boof's political ideologies, the intensity of her writings and the knowledge of all that she has endured made this one of the best books of poetry that I have read in a while.

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
Kola's a dork
who stinks like doo-doo.

Twinkle, twinkle,
little star,
Kola looks like
She's been hit by a car.
